You're totally right... For me Gary is as important and creator than Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads...and many others appears in the early 70'. And a thing make me so angry... Live as " Emerald aisles"..."Wild Frontier Live in Stockholm" "Blues Alive" " Live in Germany 1982" and many many others have never been edited on DVD or Bluray !!!!! It's really a pure shame! I'd like to talck to guys who have this job...to choose wich artists should be edited on DVD or Bluray or not... Brainless people...😡🤬
The thing about Gary Moore is that he had more heart than the metal players and more technique than the blues players and that's what made him so blisteringly soulful. check out the "shapes of things" solo on the 1984 live show th-cam.com/video/9cgGdkC1bXA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=zlKjj1XmL1Z4Bu1w
Hey Dan, I wanted to ask you about how John Sykes plays that Gary Moore lick at the beginning of his Crying in the Rain solo! I can't seem to get it. I must be doing it wrong!
Your videos are really great, I love so much your way of playing... With some others guitar players Gary Moore still be forever one of the greatest guitar player in all the history of the guitar. His fabulous feeling...this incredible way to improvise Live parts of the songs who seems to have been composed before... The Separate ways intro in Blues Alive...The Loner...Empty rooms in the Live in Stockholm...I can't wait until tomorrow Live in Germany 1982...and as you mentionned in your video Wishing Well...and Parisienne walkways in Emerald Aisles...and in so so so many songs. Not forget the Gary Moore and Phil Lynott version's of the legendary song "Still in love with you" on the Maxy 33T from 1986 with only three songs...but what songs 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 Out in the field and Military man on A side. And this extraordinary version of "Still in love with you" on B side...with two solos coming from an Alien. I still got shivers when I'm listening to this diamond since 1986... In each concert he never played twice the same solos... I thinck he was, since his 16 years old as professional musician, the best guitar player and in so many differents styles...and still today. It's a great pleasure to look at your videos. Your way of playing is brillant and you've really got the habit of Gary's style.😊👍 You have a real great sound, wich material are you using ? I want More 😊...take care and keep rocking.
I have to say I watched a video on here where the guy goes around cemeteries and in Brighton he found Gary’s. It’s in a dark corner by a wall looking neglected and just sad brought a tear to see one of the greatest guitarists in that sad place
You are such a nice Person und bring me Gary back into life! With people like you he can stay in our hearts and still be with us. Love the way the Irish talk, like you and Gary, it sounds so lovely and gives the feeling, that they carry the heart on the right place! The Irish Twiddle reminds me on the sound of bag pipes and this influence I loved also a lot at Gary's playing, especially on one of his greatest albums for me, which was "Wild Frontier". Your Playing and interpretation and explanation: JUST GREAT Thank you so much ❤
Glad you’ve been enjoying the videos. Gary just used to play what I wanted to hear on the guitar. Just clicked with me. The Irish influence in his playing is also really cool.
That Irish twiddle technique is so badass and you make it seem easy. As a fifty five year old player I find it extremely difficult. It's as if my fingers are locked into performing only sixteenth notes and triplets! It would be fascinating to see an accurate rhythm transcription of it, and I wonder if there's any swing component as I can't tell. Keep up the great work and I'd love to see you perform Gary's jaw dropping fast runs on the low strings a la 'Shapes of things' solo (Victims of the future version at about 2'43" into the track). I would not be surprised if you can nail it. The synchronisation between left and right hands that Gary achieved just blows me away every time!
Awesome! Have you ever heard of Eric Steckel? He's an Epic player and I can hear a lot of Gary Moore and SRV in his playing, but with a brutal and super thick tone. Thanks for your content!
Very cool tutorial thx alot, gary was in my opinion one of the best he had a feel like no one else and volume control that was out of this world.. what is your setup if I might ask?.
I feel like Gary Moore is a forgotten guitar hero. Thanks for keeping his incredible playing alive!

@@patlesage1256 I agree! For those of us who know his playing is our treasure...dan is the only one breaking down his playing.
Gary was superb. Fiery, scary, competitive - soulful yet still fast as feck!!😅

Gary put his heart and soul into every note he played.
Your playing is incredible! That's just insane how your minor pentatonic hammer-on licks are so fast

@@ericmcgivern4429 I didn´t know about that. I liked his Blues Rock episode also, but another Rock episode with him would have been just great.

Beautiful!!
Are you doing online private lessons? 🎸
I think the great man would've enjoyed your "inside baseball" on his "tricks." Being not a guitarist but a big admirer of his, I did.
Gery Moore war für mich der beste. Hatte den besten Geschmack für Musik und du anscheinend auch.
Hi Dan, can you do a video on the playing of frank zappa ?
i wanna see Dans "One day" with gary moore style improv 🎉❤
Just found you and digging what you offer! Can you give me advice on a pedal that will give me that Gary Moore sound?
Hell yes!!
Bravo, genau so macht man das. Andere zeigen 20 mal ein acord oder ein Ton.
opening solo is more Vivian Campbell, but seeing as viv is one of the best Gary Moore inspired players its all good.
