Perhaps you might be interested in this. Japanese all-girl metal band LOVEBITES have a Gary Moore inspired solo in the middle of a Thrash Metal song. The guitarist who plays the song is a big Gary Moore fan. She uses a Les Paul for this song, whereas she usually plays her Dean Guitar, as she is sponsored by Dean. Anyway, here it is if you want to take a look. Break the Wall: th-cam.com/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=LB_WOLFPACK
You're not the only one whose playing was forever altered by hearing Gary play the Blues the way he did. As a long time Bluesman I'd been looking for something to supercharge my playing and I really didn't know what I was looking for. The song I heard from Still Got The Blues was Oh Pretty Woman, which I heard on the radio one Sunday afternoon. The first solo in that song was played by Albert King, whose style I immediately recognised, then Gary comes in and suddenly my hair was standing straight up! I straight away asked my wife and daughter for that album for my birthday which was a few weeks off. My wife bought me another Gary Moore album that had been reduced in price, Dirty Fingers, and she gave me that. She'd given me the impression that it was the only present I was getting . . so I asked sheepishly: Is there another present coming? Then my young daughter gave me Still Got The Blues. That CD never left my stereo for weeks! For Christmas they did the same thing. I got some live video from Gary's Rock years, then my daughter gave me An Evening Of The Blues.
I first came across Gary Moore when I borrowed Corridors of Power from the local record library. I was blown away and hooked straight away. I saw Gary Moore 4 times live - 2 in his rock years and 2 in his blues years. Amazing live. He has been the biggest music influence on my guitar playing, not that I can play anything like him. Great video. Thank you.
His control at the insane volumes he played at is incredible. So loud that any extraneous noises will be really obvious and yet he played so clean. Amazing.
Gary Moore was a fantastic Guitar Player. I got to see him live at Birmingham NEC in the UK way back in 1992. He made his Gibson LP and Soldano amps sound absolutely sublime! It was a shame he never got the recognition he deserved in the USA!
Great to see Gary getting the recognition he so deserves. His early 90s blues 💙 is off the scale, and his rock stuff from the 80s is so good, stock strat and a marshall or soldano and some delay, such a legend !!
The Still Got the Blues album really turned me onto the Blues. Gary is one of my top 3 favourite guitarists. I would love to see you do an ‘In the style of Gary Moore’ course. ❤️👍🇦🇺🎸
My word what a guitarist he was!. I was blown away when blues alive was released. Such a performer and sadly missed. Great intro too. Not many people can pull off a Gary Moore solo so well!
I am a huge huge fan of Gary, and I got enrolled in your couple of courses as I can see the streaks of Gary playing in you.The passion you play is no less than Gary....keep teaching us and moving.
I loved Gary Moore's rock career in the 80s when I was a teen, but you tell he really got reinvigorated with the Blues path. He was extreemely fortunate to be able to record with some Blues greats before they passed.
One of the things I'm always amazed with Gary's playing is not only his speed, but he primarily only used his index and middle fingers and occasionally his ring finger but hardly ever his pinky. And his index and middle finger were soooooo fast.
Hahaha just saw Gary on the video cover and I had to click the video!!!! Great choice. He’s the reason along with Slash why I have a Les Paul!!!! Love Rock and absolutely with no doubt love Blues!!!! Great video Corey!!!
Gary Moore Rocks ! And so do you !! When I saw Gary Moore , only the best solos , on TH-cam… I was like , wTF ? Who is this guy ?!!! Guitar Hero for sure !
What makes Gary Moore stand out is: he could play a face melting rock song the one moment and then go on stage with somebody like B B. King and jam some tasty Blues. There are very few players who can do that. Oh another thing about him: despite being mostly associated with the vintage Les Pauls, he was in fact playing Strats just as often, not to mention he used a wide variety of different guitar models during the 80's. From EMG equipped Charvels & Jackson, to Hamer & Ibanez and he was one of thr first famous guitarists playing PRS Guitars, back when they were still a small custom builder.
What i loved about Gary apart from his superb guitar playing, was his contageous enthusiasm and energy, you could just see he was having a great time, also he was irish which is always a bonus for me, great lesson thank you Corey !
Gary’s searing tone, endless sustain, melodic phrasing, magnificent vibrato is sorely missed. At this stage of my life, not many players can move me, Gary could move me with one note.
Corey👌 Without question CV Gary was the best rock blues guitarist there's ever been! I lived close to him in Rottingdean England. On the day of his burial a surreal light in the sky appeared ! I took this as he's going home to guitar heaven! This was a genius who like so many appeared ordinary in life. I'm going to study this vid.
Whoa, I have to say, your teaching style in this video has opened my eyes to a whole new level of appreciation for Moore's playing. He's definitely got some competition now, thanks to you! 😄
I fell in love with Gary Moore at 14 when i first heard parissiene walkways, never recovered, i,ve veen a lead guitarist ever since, ive done the loner still got the blues etc at many gigs but but i have to say " Kibg of tbe blues " for me is Joe Bonamassa, the guy is incredible!
Thanks man, very cool lesson, i am a huge GM fan too, and bought myself a new Gibson Greeny recently, so i play more of Gary's stuff now, appreciate that you put out great lessons for free.
A or of wow know Gary Moore for his 90s blues era but his heavy 80s hard rock era is so underrated. In my opinion as good as his blues rock era if not slightly better. You should check out the “end of the world song”. Gary is probably the best.
I just started watching your videos recently and subscribed. I have expanded my playing already just watching a handful of your arpeggio videos. I appreciate your laidback, humble and clear teaching approach. Great stuff!
Many years ago I had a brief correspondence with Will Lee, bass guitar player in the David Letterman band and so much more. Will and Gary shared the stage with George Harrison at George's last live performance at the Royal Albert Hall in 1992. Will commented to me that Gary was the only guitar player he'd ever met that made him wish he was a guitarist (and Will's played alongside just about every great guitarist on the planet).
I've got the Epiphone '59 Reissue Standard Les Paul (left handed) and I'm absolutely in love with it. The quality of workmanship is top notch. Incidentally, I got it from Sweetwater and will sing the praises of their in-house luthiers who did some special setup for me.
Every now and again a truly talented guitarists shines though and gary moore was one of them bless him. I suppose you could say these people are special " gifted or just god damm lucky😂. But one thing is for sure' and that is when you watch and hear them play' you just know." Watching you play the guitar Mr Congilio is mesmerising as you make it just look effortless And your also a great teacher.👍 P.S corey we all know. 😂
Couldn’t agree more. The guy had something no other guitarist had or has. I recently started playing some Gary tunes live (inc this one) I don’t have it off as much as I want but I’m working in it. Imo if you can play Gary stuff live close to he did then you should be happy
I remember playing this song!!! Loved the so,o, and learned it note for note! This is great! I had it too! Lol! Also agree! He is the greatest Rock Blues guitar player. Blackmore was an amazing blues player as well. You fool No One from Live in Europe Mklll version. However Gary gets the Crown. He could rival Eddie with White Knuckles! Man was a GOD! ❤
Hey Cory really like your roy Buchanan licks. I have a request. Please please please teach the solo to Roy's solo on treat her right. Great great blues solo
Great lesson, Corey. Very practical information and directly linked to one of the Greats of the guitar using them in his solos. I steer away from learning licks, thinking about them blocks the information to the brain coming from the ears but I do like to see how your hands look when certain sounds are made. Similar sounds can be made other ways but some lead to the next chord more smoothly.
My favourite Garry moore album was WE WANT MORE it was a live compilation album, loved it. Also didnt know i was doing a garry moore lick lol, im kinda a learner but really injoy teaching myself threw just practicing things and if it works out i stick with it. Some say for someone whos never had a lesson nor knows excacly what they are doing i play really well, but obviously thats debatable even to me lol..edit: the hammer ons are very AC/DC to, most likely took from inspiration from Garry.
Great video and lesson CC - as always! Gary has been a favorite for a long time. When you have a minute check out Kim Simmonds of Savoy Brown. Kim and his brother founded Savoy Brown in 1965 and Kim produced great blues & blues rock - not as energetic as Gary Moore - but he produced great music right up until he passed in December 2022. Played with likes of Hubert Sumlin, Muddy Water, Champion Jack Dupree and more.....but Kim rarely gets mentioned

Never clicked a video so quick in my life ❤
Same here!
Same! 😂
Ditto
me too!
😂 my thoughts exactly
Gary had the finest vibrato of any guitar player. Many overlooked his formidable singing skills too.

You are a great teacher. I have played for over 45 years, and I could learn a lot from your style of teaching. More please😁
I saw him play live. Man, he was a dynamo on stage. His guitar licks were so powerful and soulful. One of the all time great guitarists.
Gary Moore is my ultimate Guitar God. So underrated in the US!
I just adore Gary Moore.
Corey your lessons are a real blessing
Greetings from Sardinia
The Still Got the Blues album really turned me onto the Blues. Gary is one of my top 3 favourite guitarists. I would love to see you do an ‘In the style of Gary Moore’ course. ❤️👍🇦🇺🎸
Gary Moore is why I picked up an electric guitar over 20 years ago.
I am always happy to see him covered.
My word what a guitarist he was!. I was blown away when blues alive was released. Such a performer and sadly missed. Great intro too. Not many people can pull off a Gary Moore solo so well!

Gary was great. He had such an aggressive attack. And he had perfect pitch, never heard him hit a sour note, his bends were always right on pitch.
One of the things I'm always amazed with Gary's playing is not only his speed, but he primarily only used his index and middle fingers and occasionally his ring finger but hardly ever his pinky. And his index and middle finger were soooooo fast.
meh
I love Gary’s Albert King influence on King Of The Blues. It’s got it all the phrasing, screaming bends, and his incredible vibrato
He could make a guitar cry with emotion and sound like he is ripping its head of at the same time. Genius.

Many, many thanks for this, for remembering the great Gary Moore, Corey. 👌
Moore is one of the best...... Mr. Moore, always on my heart
Roy Buchanan’s the Messiah will come again by Gary at Montreux Jazz is chilling.
Awesome lesson. There are fiery players, but then Gary is fire itself. Nobody touches him in blues rock.
What i loved about Gary apart from his superb guitar playing, was his contageous enthusiasm and energy, you could just see he was having a great time, also he was irish which is always a bonus for me, great lesson thank you Corey !
Love and miss the Great Gary Moore!
I fell in love with guitar because of Carlos Santana and Gary Moore. Thanks for the beautiful lesson!
Gary’s searing tone, endless sustain, melodic phrasing, magnificent vibrato is sorely missed. At this stage of my life, not many players can move me, Gary could move me with one note.
The Mesiah has returned. Nurture the resurrection. Great lesson. More Gary please.
Corey👌

This is great Corey, more Gary please 🙏
Thank you Corey for showcasing this monster guitarist.
You bet!
Whoa, I have to say, your teaching style in this video has opened my eyes to a whole new level of appreciation for Moore's playing. He's definitely got some competition now, thanks to you! 😄
Cory I love learning from you! Your Passion for playing this incredible instrument is contagious👍👍👍😃

That same cassette blew my mind around the same time. Gary was a monster!

Legend Gary❤❤❤🙏
Couldn't agree more! Gary Moore is underrated
Sitting here with my cup of joe, guitar slung low, and playing along with your lesson. Great way to kick off Sunday morning! Thank you!
Love it. Thanks!

Glad to hear it! There’s always more on the way! Thx for the sub!
I saw Gary twice in his hard rock heyday. No one plays like Gary. My number 1 six-stringer hands down.
Many years ago I had a brief correspondence with Will Lee, bass guitar player in the David Letterman band and so much more. Smokin' good stuff. Thanks so much Corey! I remember getting that album too. Gary has some beautiful instrumentals, as well.
Just subscribed to your channel. Impressed by the clarity of your teaching
Awesome lesson Corey! Thank you!
I’m starting to really enjoy your channel over all the other guitar TH-cam channels
Wow thx!
EXCELLENT TUTORIAL ! Great Job ! Fully agree, GM is best Blues & Rock guitarist of all time
I've got the Epiphone '59 Reissue Standard Les Paul (left handed) and I'm absolutely in love with it. The quality of workmanship is top notch. Incidentally, I got it from Sweetwater and will sing the praises of their in-house luthiers who did some special setup for me.
Nice! I'll do a deeper dive soon!
Gary Moore was probably one of the best human ever to play & to fully brought out the true raw power of stock 59’ Gibson Les Paul
This is GOLD! Thank you Corey!!
Gary, is killer...I knew I was on the right track, when I saw the Beano album cover on his record. I was attempting to learn the same songs he was...
Very nice, thanks. Every lesson I get helps shape my style
Gary top notch! Blues rock xtraordinaire! My favorite too! But i like his Irish rock tunes the most
Great lesson, this solo really sounds cool!!!Epiphone looks cool!!!

2007 London Gary plays Red House and its worth a listen if you havent already
Man, that tone. Sounds so good and tasty. Thank you Corey. Great lesson.

I have an old demo cassette of Gary Moore I found in a music store.
Gary Moore is the reason I picked up a guitar, so I completely agree!
I also forgot thank you for the great lesson.
Great lesson! Thanks! 😎
Hey Cory really like your roy Buchanan licks. I have a request. Please please please teach the solo to Roy's solo on treat her right. Great great blues solo

You're right 🎉
Moore was a monster guitar player.
I got that same epi. Sounds killer on a budget.
Still in love with you by thin Lizzy is such a good track. Think that was Moore.
Thank you!!!!
