I just did the 4 corners with those in simhub for road vibrations, road impact and tire slip. And the bst 50 watt under the seat for gear shifts, rpm and engine noise. Immersion is through the roof awesome.
Your lovely cat is an absolute star! Made me smile. And I loved the "mad inventor" water-in-a-jar test scenario. Brilliant!
I've just done this in a left and right configuration for DCS. I use nVidia for my sound source and the amp is plugged into my monitor and not an additional soundcard.
The only other thing I did differently was I used a 12v 5amp power supply. And try to keep the volume on about 80% on my 20w+20w amp miniamp. Being a complete novice, my thinking is that I can now get the full 30W maximum rating out of the transducers for short periods.
Thank you for the video.
cool, now you can get shakers without a rig, i might put this in my desk chair somewhere in the future
I've got the same (similar) equipment. But feel inclined to place them side by side, rather than above and below.
Intend to use the with SimHub's Gear-Change, Engine, RPMs, and Impact... I think the latter will be better served by horizontal placement.
Ps But thanks for the videos you've made over the years, they been a great help 👍
i made a shakers to the pedals, now is time to make bass shakers too ;)
That bass mechanic is no joke lol
Great video, made me realise I needed this setup inside my zip-backed wheeled racing-style chair! Obtained 2 pucks from Soundimports, mounted them on a board & due to the recess in the chair, orientated them left/right. Added a short lead with connectors under the chair, so it can be untethered easily.
I seemed to have slightly better results turning the board over, so the 'top' of the pucks sink into the back cushion a little. Gearchanges give a satisfying thud in the back.
Left/right-specfic effects are harder to tell where they are originating, probably because the rumble is being spread too efficiently through the entire board across the back of the chair.
At some point I'll pull it out & cut the boad into separate left/right sections, but it was a pain to get the chair zip closed again - so that can wait a bit.
Although I'm wondering if I also need them under the seat too...😀
That's a great point. One day I might reconfigure it with another board and push them in further.
Hi , Great video myself I mounted mine left and right on the back of my seat and as I have 4 at the front 2 by pedals and 2 by my DD base I feel the bumps cycle from front to back and left to right.
But having the seat shakers thud together with every gear change is an amazing addition to my immersion. Keep up the good work son!
Cheers man. Definitely, the more the merrier when it comes to bass shakers.
Two by pedals is useless and two by the DD which add its own vibration is nonsense. People spend money in misterious ways.
@@FreakCanal You are entitled to your view, but my pedal shakers are invaluable and work perfect the ones on my wheel deck are use just for two effects and compliment the force feedback from the base just dandy, spend your money how you want to and don't worry about mine sir, live a long and happy life my friend :)
@@FreakCanal lol what a douche.
@@Kurvz what amp do U use for 4 shakers
Quality content, thank you. I am planning to put one of these behind my back and second under the seat, hope it works
I'm super intrigued by this and so happy I found your videos. I recently found out about bass shakers and now want to try them for a little home theater setup with my office chair. I think what you built here in this video would work perfectly, as I have a very similar chair. Setting these things up seem a little nerve-wracking, would you ever consider making a similar setup and sending them out if all expenses were paid for? Thanks in advance.
Do you not feel the need to apply a low pass filter? Other guides I've seen required a low pass filter so I'm wondering. Also the banggood links don't work anymore and we cannot see the product name or model so we can't exactly follow in your footsteps til thats sorted
indeed a fantastic walk thru and exceptional rig you have mate! :)
Thank you kindly!
I've always thought about mounting one of these to my motorcycle helmet
That's Interesting idea, if I had a helmet I would try that myself.
Put it in the seat
Wow thank you very much for the detailed tutorial this will come in handy.. would you mind helping me with something, as this is all very new to me,I have just bought a simple setup to use on my PS5 and play seat challenge x, basically I bought 3 of the mini Dayton TT25 8ohm transducers and the Nobsound mini Bluetooth power amplifier with built in sound card which is 2channel and 50w and 4-8ohm.
My plan was to have one of the transducers (8ohm) under my pedals, then two transducers a on my seat, but running in parallel which I think then halves the ohms so each transducer would be 4ohm, is this safe to do I don’t want to blow out or destroy anything, any help you can give would be greatly appreciated..👍
May i ask, how loud is this setup? Can you hear it from outside your house / room? Still dont understand if they make bass or vibration (i know theyre kinda the same thing)
Hi. great video. Do you have the link to the spade/crimp male & female connectors for the speaker cable you use?
I can't remember where I bought them. They are standard spade connectors, so you can easily find them online if you search for spade connectors.
Hello. Good job. I ordered an fosi BT30D to activ 3 bass shakers. Do you think it will be OK or should I return it. What kind of bass shaker can I use with it. Thank you very much
Great video. Think this will form the basis for starting my journey into additional tactile immersion!
What are your dimensions for the wooden board - assume approx. 200mm x 400mm?
Good guess, just a bit over that, but close enough.
@@SimRacingCorner Thanks 😀
I hard mounted mine underseat past the edge of the seat so u can feel the kerbs. Also used a bass amp instead of the one u have. Tried that levy one u have and at higher volume it cuts out after long use as its not really for bass frequency. I have 2 of they big shakers and can say they are better with the bass amp. Knobsound bass amp off amazon.
I've been using this cheap amp for a few weeks and I haven't had any issues with this setup. As long as the combination of the bass shaker model and the power supply is within the tolerance of the amp then it should be okay, but possibly the quality of these units off the production line could vary due to their low price. I wouldn't use this amp for a higher wattage bass shaker, it certainly wouldn't be good enough.
@@SimRacingCorner no matter what shaker set up u use it adds another dimension to racing games. I'd even go as far to say it adds more than 6 dof motion rig does and I use the dof reality h3. For under £100 quid its well worth having tactile feedback even just having the rig vibrating in vr when you are idleing the engine adds immersion. Was the first mod I made on my rig 1 year ago would never change it ever. Keep up the good content and happy racing man🏁👍👍
@@RACER-dz8uh I have a NLR V3 seat mover, and I agree with you. I would rather use tactile over motion, and often, I do. I really didn't expect anybody out there would share that same opinion.
What specific Knobsound bass amp are you using, if I may ask?
@@mr6291 it's the ns 036 100w full frequency £24 on amazon.
nice video, good info, are those shakers still working after all this time ? I did see a review of those and people complaining about the quality of them. Thanks for any update
2:55 Pause for dramatic effect... point made. :D
Any idea where to get a low pass filter to use with either 3.5 or RCA cable? I'm using TT25 with console and need to get rid of high frequencies
thanks for all you videos...trying to include transducers for a PS4 setup(without Sim hub). Could not find any content where someone has tried to directly plug the aux out (on PS controller) directly to the amp that powers the transducers...to understand if it would work, what would be felt more/less/ braking/engine sound/volume...etc
can you please make a vid testing this, maybe just using aux out from PC directly to the amp...(no sound card, no simhub...just aux)
Unfortunately, I don't have time to make video on that anytime soon. My bass shaker kit isn't set up right now, and I'm kind of busy on other projects. I'll think about this for a future one. All I can say right now, is the bass shaker will act like a speaker, and it will pass through every sound, including the music. If you have a proper amp, you can adjust the frequency going through, and focus the vibrations on the bassy sounds and that will help isolate the car elements. The loudest sounds from the game will produce the most vibrations. But ultimately, with all the sounds going through, everything is mashed together when running straight from audio.
Where do you get your sound signal from? If you use USB card then it has to be setup as output from PC. How you set up 2 simultaneous digital outputs on PC?
th-cam.com/video/P-ux6Eyn-mk/w-d-xo.html
Just bought the same 2 dayton bass shakers but have the nobsound mini! Im new to bass shakers, i guess they all make a rattling sound when there turned up high?
Yes, if you push any shaker too far it will rattle as the weight inside is bashing the inside of the enclosure.
Hi mate. Hope u are well. I'm wondering if your are still using this setup and if you had a chance to try them vertical or horizontal and (if yes) what was your best experience? I'm waiting for my pucks to arrive but in the meantime I'm in the process of preparing the wood and cuts. I,ve a DX Racer that has a similar zip at the back. Thanks for the idea. This video is awesome.
Hello there. I no longer have this installed. It's still a great setup, I just experiment with different things on the channel, so I reused the shakers for another idea I had later on. The configuration in the video is the only orientation I ran them.
Thanks for the Video. Subscribed and Like. U mentioned the AMP don't comes with power..do u have the link where u get the power for the amp? Thanks
👍 eBay or Amazon you can these adaptors easily. Just key in the Volt and Amp requirements into the search. This Amp is 12V 5A.
Nice video and nice button hub on your P310? Where u buy the hub?
Hi, I'm glad I've found this great channel for any sim racing enthusiast.
I have two questions:
1 - my idea is to place the two Dayton pucks, not vertically at the backrest, but horizontally right below my bum's cushion, and therefore obtain a stereo effect ( Left / right)? Is it feasible with that very same equipment, this stereo effect?
2 - in compariosn with your previous setup (100w+100w amp with larger transducers) would you still think this smaller setup will transmit a vivid experience for a first-time user, such as in my case?
Tx in advance
Using 2 of the Daytons should work well in a cushion configuration. As the pucks are close to the body, they will give a good stereo effect. In fact, check this link. This seat cushion shaker uses these pucks. www.simracingstudio.com/product-page/srs-shakekit-shakeseat-integrated-with-shakebox-lite
@@SimRacingCorner Great! I ended up ordering the the bulkier transducers you showed in the other DIY video, because I'm planning to mount them underneath the seat or on my rig. thanks for the reply! Cheers
The budget bodyshakers are really good. You wouldn't want to cover those with with a cushion as they get quite warm, mounting under seat is ideal.
@@SimRacingCorner exactly! Tx
Brilliant, thanks for sharing!
what better position, in the economy or in the seat of the bank ?? I bought 01 pair of mini Shaker and I'm waiting to arrive!
If you can place them underneath the cushion of your seat then would be a good position. I'm not able to do this as the seat cushion is fixed down.
Excellent! Thanks a lot for this video, it has been really useful! 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Thumbs up for the great video and 🐈!
Thank you! Cheers!
I have 2 under my seats. I was wondering what profile and effects is best to replicate an rear tire activity ? RL and RR what effects are applicable in other words.
Have you tried the butt kicker? If so how does it compare? Thanks!
I am looking to start with a couple of bass shakers. Would you how do you compare the dayton tt25 to the 'budget' shakers in your other videos. Obviously the Dayton are lower profile, but that aside what are the differences in performance? Thanks in advance.
The difference in power output is significant, so it depends on usage. The Daytons work well here as they are close to my back. But they would not work attached to other parts of the stiff frame of the sim rig, the Daytons are not strong enough to pass vibrations though, but the budget Body shakers would be just fine.
Thanks, I will give this a try for VR flying!
Hey... Great vid... Just wondering in the vibrations can be felt through the bottom of the seat as well...
Thanks. I can only feel it through the back rest.
Nice tip, i have the same seat, are you not afraid about overheating and even fire ???
These are not super powerful shakers so don't produce much heat so it's fine. It is a real car seat so should be fire retardant.
Can you please share the link to your beginner's guide for doing this upgrade? Thanks
Check the video description, details there.👍
Hey hey,
I have a similar seat and would like to do the same.
Although the seat has a zip, this zip has no handle (?). Was your handle visible from the start or did you have to cut open something on the seat?
I don't remember exactly, I recorded this 4 years ago. Looking at it now (the seat), It's possible it was tucked away.
@@SimRacingCorner thanks ✌️
Awesome video, thanks for the tips. Question - can this setup work with consoles too? If I use audio out from my xbox one, will I still be able to get sound out the TV or only output xeon the transducers? Thanks!
If you can split the audio from the console to two sound outputs, then yes it will work. You can test the theory without bass shakers by simply trying to get two working sound outputs running using another set of speakers, headphones etc. You will need to do your own research on that, it's not something I plan to try myself.
@@SimRacingCorner another great tip! Thanks so much!
Since I run my pc audio to a stereo home receiver, can I just add 2 as rear speakers and set parameters in SimHub?
It depends on if the output from that stereo home receiver matches the required ohm rating and also able to output the watts capable of powering the shakers.
Great video. Really happy we have your channel showing great stuff that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. By the way great looking gloves. May I ask what they are or where you got them from?
Thanks so much! They are GIRO DND gloves.
Thank you !!!!
Hi, I have dedicated separate sound card can I use digital out and can I use jack out for shaker ? Or still need that separate usb dongle?
Essentially, all you need is a sound card that isn't being used by your speakers.
This is cool, looking at getting the parts to do it my self. The dayton transducers come as either 8 or 16ohm at the same price. Could I ask which ones you used? Thanks!
Get the 8ohm ones. Ohms is a measure of resistance that needs to match the amp. 8ohm amps are pretty much default when it comes to the mini amps.
@@SimRacingCorner Thank you!
@@SimRacingCorner I did a test (the Dayton ones are coming tomorrow) on the redundant transducer built into my TG-T wheel, took it out and hooked it up. Lesson learnt. Dont fire 100% to it as a test. It made a loud pop/crack and now nothing ha. Ah well, will go easier on the Dayton ones!
@@ChiefBunhead What amp are you using?
@@SimRacingCorner I've purchased the 'Nobsound Mini Bluetooth Power Amplifier Stereo Hi-Fi Digital Amp 2.0 Channel 50W×2'. Tbh I got the TG-T for free about 5 years ago as I worked on the promo video for it and they sent one for free, I cant argue. Have asked them for a replacement transducer. Maybe the trasnducer in that wheel isn't the greatest. Shall start off on low values tomorrow when the Daytons arrive.
Awesome !!! Many THX !!!
You're welcome!
How is the conduction through the mdf? I'm looking to use mdf to mount bass shakers to my rig on front (L&R) rear (L&R) and under the seat. If bolted to the rig do you think it would conduct the vibrations ok? Love the channel.
Under the seat should be fine with mdf. As for front/rear, 50 watt minimum shakers is what you need. I can't really comment on MDF mounting in those locations without knowing what your sim rig is as so much depends on individual circumstances of the setup.
@@SimRacingCorner Thank you so much for the reply. Literally going to get the wood cut now😂
It's a GT Omega Titan. So on front can mount to pedal plate, that should be easy, but probably need a bridging bit of wood along the back🤔
Thank you for the assist. Going to get on the 50watt PUIs I think as the rig is pretty sturdy.
Is it necessary to cut out holes in the board where your pucks are going to be?
No. This was done to reduce the profile.
@@SimRacingCorner reason I ask, is because I didn't cut holes, so I'm wondering now if the shaker is running into the wood. Its installed flat against the wood without any risers.
@CapEm16 That's fine.
Did you interface this with a Arduino and sim hub? How does it connect to the simulator?
Watch this ----> th-cam.com/video/P-ux6Eyn-mk/w-d-xo.html
@@SimRacingCorner Thanks I did easier then I thought appreciate your videos!
Really nice mate!👌
I enjoy my sim rig pimping more than microphone reviews, but only just!
Alright, I'm about to order them but I have question if I ordered 16ohm does that mean more power or it's the same as 8ohm ?
No, ohms is resistance, it's not related to the power. If you get 16ohm shakers you will need a amp capable of working with 16ohms. Get the 8ohm shakers, that's a common standard for amps.
@@SimRacingCorner hey mate, I have the same question. The 8ohms are out of stock on the importer. They say I can buy 2 16ohms, and mount it in paralel, and makese sense, the impedance should be 8ohms, if mounted like that. My dumb question is: the amplifierhas 4 outputs (2 positive and 2 negative), right? not very much seeing how to do it. I'd really love to send a screenshot, but seems like it's not possible here :(
Actually, I think I got it now, using this information here www.wikihow.com/Power-Two-Speakers-with-a-One-Channel-Amp. Do you think this will work properly as well? At least, it seems ok, for the eyes of someone who knows on these audio subjects and so on :)
@@HelderMarques I've never tried this type of setup, but I'm aware of this option. I'm sure it's fine.
@@HelderMarques wiring 2 x 16ohm pucks in parallel works well for the Nobsound (Doukaudio) two channel 50w or 100w amps on Amazon. The price is about $30 to $50 USD for the higher capacity amp. I have 8 of the 16ohm TT25-16 pucks, not using all of them but I found them really cheap $10 USD used like new on Amazon so I couldn't pass that up. I have one BST-1 (50W) for under the seat on my rig but 2 pucks mounted left and right of back of my fiberglass seat in the middle, and pucks in all 4 corners.
i want to stick one to the logitech pedal towards the rear with strong duct tape. will it transmit the shake thru the plastic housing ?
I don't know how effective it will be, but I expect it would work.
Hello, I know this is an old video, but can you tell me the thickness of the board you used and what feedback you used both pucks for
It is 10mm.
I am waiting for my amplifier and my shaker to arrive. Just one for now so I can test it. If I can make it work will ger a second one for better detailed Feedback.
For these model (or identical 15W slim profile), do you think this will work bolted on the playseat itself or is it to weak and its better for use with the padding of the seat?
Love you channel.
These pucks are too weak to be effective bolted any metal frame. If you can slip them behind or under the seat cushion, that might work.
@@SimRacingCorner How about secure two on the metal wire "mesh" that support the base of the playseat cushion? I dont think I can secure then on the cushion it self and im a little worry about the heat they can generate.
@@mc1996 I don't know, but it worth experimenting to find out. Using bass shakers is a process of trial and error. These pucks do not generate much heat as they are low powered, so insulating them is not an issue.
Would two of these work for a cockpit made from 2x4 wood? I would like to put one under my seat, and the other under my pedal deck. Or, would I need something more powerful for just one under the seat? (It's a bucket seat out of a old car.)
Something more powerful for that application, look for 50 watt RMS or more bass shakers.
did you wire both speakers on the seat back to 1 or 2 channels?
The wiring setup is shown in the video. It's 2 channels.
Sorry for the possibly stupid question!! I've been toying with the idea of transducers for a while. I even took apart a cheap Xrocker chair and added the vibration motors into my playseat challenge! I've now got a dedicated sim room so can now get a bit more serious. I want to run multiple shakers ( FL - FR - RL - RR and under or on the seat) Now when I spec'd my PC last year it was being run in my living room using HDMI audio so didn't spec a 5.1 sound card. Will I be able to run multiple small usb sound cards to power the amps and shakers? I haven't seen this mentioned in any of your videos yet and you seem to have multiple transducers. Are they all running from those small USB ones?
Sorry for waffling on!
Yes it is possible to use multiple cheap USB stick sound cards for this purpose. I have had two running at once and it worked. They were different brands though, so I don't know if running two identical USB sound cards would conflict with each other.
@@SimRacingCorner Cheers mate! Actually spent the day looking at 5.1 external sound cards!
@@darrenharley-simracing7363 You don't need to buy a premium external sound card for a budget transducer setup, there's no real benefit. The cheapy little stick ones do a fine job for this task.
Hi, I have made a sim rig for the ps5. Can I use this setup with the ps5 and how do I go about it? Thanks in advance.
Bass shakers are effectively speakers. So you need the same hardware configuration shown and then you need a audio splitter of some description from your PS5 to send the audio through to the amp connected to the bass shakers.
What gauge speaker wire did you use to extend the puck shaker wire? Someone told me 26 gauge but postedva link of 16 gauge. Does that work for these pucks?? The wire is super thin on puck shaker.
I'm using 0.5mm audio wire here, which is 24 gauge.
@@SimRacingCorner thanks so much!
can i do something similar with my old's car speakers? and how do you "calibrate" the buttkickers? via simhub?
Old speakers aren't up to the task. Bass shakers have a weight in them which enables them to deliver these vibrations. Maybe speakers could be modded somehow, but I have no idea. There are many video guides for SimHub bass shakers. Not hard to search for on YT.
@@SimRacingCorner thank for answering. great channel btw glad i found you! keep up the great work :)

Technically yes if the amp output is within the specifications of the bass shaker.
@Sim Racing Corner the spec say 170W(passive) for the home cinema amp.

3 ohms for the subwoofer output

Help pls, i use windows 10. How can i use two soundcards? My on board card i use for my surround sound, if i use two cards i can activate only one of the both.
For sim racing?
@@SimRacingCorner no, for xplane 11. I use the dayton bst1 shaker. But the problem is I can t activate two soundcards ,only one .
@@jaapaap6649 If you're just trying to direct the game audio to the bass shaker and speakers at the same time, try an audio splitter cable from your soundcard. Easy.
@@SimRacingCorner thanks yes that works. The only question now is ,if i use a programm like simvibe , wil simvibe only affect on my tactile transducers or also my surround sound ?
@@jaapaap6649 If you're using game effects through simvibe then you will need to use your second sound card to your amp, to the bass shaker. The sounds coming from simvibe are not normal sounds, they are very strange sounding blips which excite the transducers. Basically completely different from game audio. Simvibe will use the second soundcard and will be completely separate from the game audio coming through your main soundcard.
