This worked very well! In the current version, setting it to Color Attribute will correctly bring out the embedded textures/colors rather than Attribute -- Color!
Once brought in Blender, I'd like to continue vertex painting. Vertex color (now called Attribute in Blender) from Polypaint is usually automatically called "col". I can add an attribute and paint on it but it doesn't add to the polypaint. And I can see what I paint only if I hide the polypaint col layer attribute. Any idea please how, once imported, one can go on Vertex Painting in Blender.
Hey Bro I am new to zbrush i textured an eye using rgb channel nd i am trying to import it in blender but i am getting black color all over my eye model whenever i connect attribute to my eyes what to do😭
Hey man - what I would recommend trying for a quick fix is to go back into zbrush. Lower your eye sub tool to the lowest subdivision, do a UV unwrap. Then, go back to the highest subdivision level and create a texture map from polypaint. Then export that eye into blender. Hopefully that works for you. I demonstrate that here if you would like a visual reference. th-cam.com/video/_Fjh6Dv6ONw/w-d-xo.html
Hi Ian, thanks for the video. Can you explain (or point me to where if you did it already) what is the difference between exporting Fbx and using GoZ for import/export between Zbrush and Blender?
Not a problem! The easiest way I can explain it is to think of FBX files like a PDF. They are universal between most programs. Where as the GoZ is just a tool that only works between Zbrush and Blender. For a while, GoZ wasn’t working well and a lot of people (including myself) had a ton of problems during a few updates. So, this was a good work around to get your sculpts into Blender if GoZ wasn’t working for you. I normally use the FBX method as it’s what a lot of studios will use to transfer files to one another and it’s proven to be effective for most applications. Hopefully that helps. GoZ is every effective and I highly recommend it for a Zbrush to Blender Pipeline. 😊
@@IRSculpts Thanks for the brief reply man! I watch all of your Zbrush Help watch list today, it was very helpful (even if I know most of them) it was refreshing and educational :) Keep up the good work. Cheers.
Thanks for the video! Do you know if it is possible to do this with materials? Or can you translate materials to polypaint in Zbrush first and then export? I have an object with the gold material applied that I would like to bring in to Blender for rendering...
No problem! I’m not too sure if it’s possible or how to do that with materials, as I believe the way blender handles materials is different than the way Zbrush is. If I find anything about it, I will definitely make a video on it! :)

If you have a decent computer system, you should be able too. However, in my experience, blender starts to struggle with models higher than 20 million. I have a pretty decent set up with a Ryzen 7 CPU and a 2080 GPU, but it still takes a few mins to load. If you start to load and it looks like Blender is not responding, just give it some time to load and see how it works. Hope that helps

That worked brilliantly, thx dude!
No problem at all! Glad it helped! 🙏💯
Great video! Thank you so much!
Good but how apply subsurface scattering on the fbx??, it doesn't let me.
