That's why Tool fans like watching you. We are all vicariously watching your reaction for the first time and remembering what it was like to hear this shit the first time ourselves.
This was the third reaction i did to Tool, but it got blocked for a few days. Happy that got resolved. Bear in mind i was still a newborn here when it comes to Tool. Now i am at least a 6 month old 😅. Have a great day!
Fun fact: Tool's guitarist, Adam Jones, did some work on Hollywood movies such as the original Jurassic Park and Terminator II. He's the man behind most of Tool's artwork and visuals.
What! Jurassic Park was the first live action movie i saw in the theater when i was 6 (too young). Its the movie that sparked my love for cinema! Thanks for telling me this.
Your comment about there being nothing new resonated. I love Tool because their music is like nothing most of us have ever heard. There are 12 notes. Look at what they do with them!
We all feed on tragedy. We must devour to survive. We don't get to be alive without consuming something else. It's basic physics, it's so fundamental it's hard-wired into our species, or we wouldn't have gotten this far. So we gravitate towards suffering; it fascinates us, makes us feel alive - vicariously - because every tragic story we read or watch or hear is, even if fictional, a reality that we dodged, that we in some sense survived, just because it didn't happen to us.
One of my favorite lyrics, "Credulous at best our desire to believe in Angels in the hearts of men. Pull your head on out your hippy haze and listen, shouldn't have to say it all again. The universe is hostile, so impersonal, devour to survive. So it is, so it's always been."
yeah, you got it. It talks about our perception about violence in media, tv news and films. I remember me in my infancy when i was hearing in tv news about omicide, war and other bad news and i feeled sad for many days. Now when i hear tv news it's not the same thing. Yes, i feel sad but for a few minutes and then i have to think on my own problems. Now i watch horror movies just for entertainment and it's weird if you think about it. It's like our experienced created a mental shell to protect us from the world but the cons is that we are becaming slowly inhuman
I feel the same way. I do try to stay away from 24/7 news, cause it gets overwhelming at times nowadays. Thanks for watching and sharing this. I really appreciate that.
When you say they should have done it in VR, you pretty much nailed it. The album was released in 2006, when there was no talk of VR yet... Yet the CD had 3D lenses incorporated into the case to be able to see the booklet in 3D. TOOL have always been light years ahead in this. See on TH-cam what the CDs of 10000 Days and Fear Inoculum look like physically. You'll understand what I'm talking about!
Glad you got Vicarious up! Sorry about the wait, but for Another bit of context is after the Lateralus LP Tool fans had to wait 5 years! for this LP to come out. So when that first riff dropped… it hit hard! Tool speaks to a LOT of uncomfortable/unspoken thoughts. Prison Sex is one-even heavier than you’d expect. But that groove, tho’. Makes you listen and think.
You mentioned that they should make it into a VR, well it kind of already exists. It's called Chapel of Sacred Mirrors and it was built by Alex Grey, the artist who designed the cover art and some of the god-like figures in the video.
The Grudge Parabol with Parabola Jambi Eon Blue Apocalypse with The Patient Just some of my recommendations that you might like. I mean, you cant find a bad Tool song, but some are best listened to after you have some additional information about the theories behind the lyrics Also, you might enjoy the music more if you pulled up the lyrics. This was great! Thank you!🌀🌀🌀
Another great reaction. Pleeeeeeease don’t sweat the lame haters. You are doing great. You’re a braver person than I… I would also have difficulty not taking the comments personally. But they are so useless. They just don’t get it. I wish they’d just go away. We’d all be better off.
I listened to your last reaction "Right In Two" and you said in one section, "I better move along or I won't finish" You started the song again, listened for 30 seconds, and immediately stopped it again amd went on a 2 minute rant. Ugh. I couldn't continue listening. Haven't tried this one yet, and this is one of my favorite tool songs. I hope you let it play through more before stopping and commenting. And I hope it isn't 30 seconds after saying you needed to move along. Lmao
That's me in a nutshell! I understand, i really do. But don't spend your time on something you don't like. I don't want to waste your time and i really mean that. Have a great day!
Reactors literally HAVE TO pause a certain amount of time or TH-cam automatically blocks the video. Not his rules. We can all go listen to Tool all the way thru in a myriad of ways. We are here to watch HIS journey. And he’s kicking ass! You admitted to criticizing BEFORE you even watched this video. What’s the frigging purpose of that? It’s useless. Dude has jumped into the deep end of the Tool pool is less than 2 weeks… and done a damn good job the whole way thru. The solution to your “problem” is infinitely simple: go listen to your album. Leave reactors alone.
@Sky14318 relax. It was an observation. Also, I understand they have to have pauses. Mostly I watch these reactions during cardio sessions. I love to watch new reactors discover this band we all love. My comment wasn't meant to insult. But I understand that it's hard to translate personality through text, so what I may have meant as light humor can be taken as something different. Just an FYI. Anyway, still haven't been able to bring myself to watch anymore of his reactions, but that doesn't mean I won't try again later. I love to see peoples reactions during these great songs. Hope that clears things up a little more. Maybe he'll take it to heart and keep the pauses a little less close together, and absorb the song a bit more to allow the flow and transition to hit before interrupting it. Anyway, have a great day!
You just need to talk more bout the songs. So many double layer to the lyrics. I really like to hear from new tool fans why they hear, what they think. Not just here to hear the song-though that too:)
Really good job at being able to pay attention to the music and lyrics while also watching the video! They're distracting af. Personally I'd say avoid the distraction and blocking hell and just do lyrics videos for the reacts, but you do you - you're doing great!
Tool videos are frigging rad… but also very distracting for a first time listen. They make ya too busy wondering “wtF is THAT?!” 😆 Totally worth watching the individual genius of them but… not for a first listen. Like you, I’m usually VERY lyric-centric. Tool is one of the only bands that can have an 8 minute instrumental and make me forget that there’s no one singing. Every man is such a frigging MASTER of their art that they just suck you in. When you think about it, it’s ASTONISHING that 4 geniuses like that can collaborate at all over so many years. I think Maynard said that every mix of every song is a “battle to the death”. But they keep creating such incredible pieces of music.
The video can be a little distracting for a first listen :). Their music is really unlike anything i have ever heard. I am enjoying this journey. Thanks for watching!
Quick Suggestion for reacting to Tool songs: Try not to watch any of the “original music videos” and instead pick lyric or static videos that will let you focus on the music. As you might notice with this one, their videos can be quite visually distracting lol. Spiral 🌀 out!
Great reaction men, this song is amazing. Although I'd suggest you stay away from the official Tool videos due to the visuals being distracting for a first time reaction. I'm saying this because you said on your previous videos that you love lyrics. Just a thought, if you don't mind the visuals then by all means ignore this comment 😂
A word of advice brother... maynard writes enigmatically for a reason. No whos heard tool needs a dissection of his lyrics. Everyone ends up somewhere different and thats ok
Thank you. I like to share my experience and thoughts. That is ofcourse only one interpretation and there can be many. Its nice to learn from eachother.
The unfortunate thing about recommendations for reviews is that bending to the “popular” opinion doesn’t do artists justice. Like if you never heard Eminem before, but took suggestions they would probably not be from his first album. So you wouldn’t understand the journey or the progression of the artist. It makes me cringe to see people get started with TOOL, but not start with Undertow. ….and when I say Undertow, I don’t mean “SOBER” since the reactors have completely overdone that too. I can’t imagine listening to Vicarious BEFORE hearing “Crawl Away”, “Bottom”, or “Undertow”. It honestly ruins the whole TOOL experience.
I totally understand that. I know Eminem's journey inside out. I have been listening to him for 23 years. Reactors dont start at the beginning. For me it is still entertaining to watch. But you have a valid point and i respect it. ✌️ I will note down the suggestions you made.
@@SaeedReacts. ok, well just remember this. I know you monetize for views, but……. TOOL viewers are NOT like other fans, and taking a “pop” approach is not advised. Their fans are rabid consumers of complex music that most people do not get pleasure from. That being said, the TOOL army is large. If you treat them (the band) with the respect they deserve, and read them like a book front to back, you will gain the respect and admiration of the Army, and that alone will have a greatly positive effect on your subscribers and views. Treat them like Taylor Swift (try to appeal to popularity), and you’ll never get them.
I think as long as you know where and when it’s from ( they take about 5-13 years to put an album out and only have a handful of albums) then you can see the progression of the band at least and know where they were coming from ( ie early tool like undertow and aenima are filled with youth anger and angst… we all grew with them on thier life’s journeys
@@JasonTurner-uk9rk I get that, but I am passionate about the concept of listening to the music on the Undertow album first, otherwise, the new music sounds complex and deep, but there is no context for it without Undertow.
Totally disagree with ANY first time listener doing the videos. Just don’t. Do the song with lyrics. Check out the videos later. The videos just take away from the feelings, I believe.
That's why Tool fans like watching you. We are all vicariously watching your reaction for the first time and remembering what it was like to hear this shit the first time ourselves.
I havent even thought of that! 🤯
I’m legit a little jealous too.
It is like remembering that 120mg dmt trip…

One of my favorite Tool songs. That final vocal piece is incredible. Gives me goosebumps every time.
I really liked it. This channel really encouraged me to discover new genres with an open mind. I'm glad i did. Thanks for watching!

The Grudge with lyrics for a near future reaction.. Keep up the good work 👏
Thanks! The Grudge reaction is actually coming later today. I think i did the lyrics video 😅. I am honestly blanking on that right now 😄.

Just putting this out there....O'Keefe Music Foundation did a Tool cover of 46 & 2 that you might enjoy.
Thanks! Will add it to my list.
Also the vitamin string quartet version of 46 and 2 is phenomenal
Another great Tool song about getting desensitized is "Stinkfist" 😊
Will check that one out. Thanks!
I think he is ready to watch their music video Schism
Now i am curious 😅. Thankd for watching!
Love it, man! Keep it up!
Thanks so much. More coming this weekend!

No you are not crazy. Creativity is definitely channeled from creation itself. It already exists.
Beautifully said!
Hey... they unblock it. Great song! 🤘🙌
Yes! Really is a great song!
Therefore but by the grace of god go I... Maynard and band updated and made the old adage pertinent again
