    A little nut tied to the floss works great as well. Just drop it in and let it fall through.

    The first set I done I pulled the wires through the bars 1 at a time. I used 60lbs fishing string . I never cut T the fishing string till I got the last wire through? Lol . Took a long time.

    I'm having a hell of a time trying to find extended cables for my new Rebel 1100DCT to go with the Apes I want to put on there.
    I may try your technique of adding wire in the middle.

    That dental floss trick is pretty clever. Question though, am I able to just simply apply a mechanics twist on the wire and shrink tube it without soldering?

    • @YogisCycleService
      @YogisCycleService  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You probably can but if the bars are tight and the wire gets held up a solder will hold up better when pulling the wire

    I wish you included in the video running back the twist grip sensor wire. 😢 the damn green connector seems too fat to pull back through. Awesome video though! It gave me motivation to try again 😂

    • @YogisCycleService

      Yes, I wound up cutting out the green connector and just soldering the wires together to save space

  • @chuckhabrack3330

    I have the same thing with my 16 street bob. The actual switches are sodered In. I was wondering If there Is a specific wire gauge you use, and what kind of wiring you'd recommend for me to literally do the exact same thing you did on my street bob.

    Hey man, I just extended my wires and now my speedo/odometer won't turn on. When turning on ignition, the EFI pump turns on but no power to speedo/odometer and controls doesn't work. What went wrong? What should I check for?

    • @YogisCycleService
      @YogisCycleService  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You crossed wires with the on/prime switch and potentially a throttle wire or something else. Could be in the plug if you pulled wires. I would look there first and get a wire diagram so you know colors coming from the on/prime switch and look to see if one of those is in the wrong spot in the plug first

    This is absolutely the rigged way to do it. There are way better videos out there. I can see plenty of problems with this that he edited his problems out with. There isn't anything wrong with using the same wire, but the soldering is wrong, the heat shrink is not complete, the electrical tape will only make a mess, why are the wires hanging out the top of these bars?

    • @YogisCycleService
      @YogisCycleService  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are quite entitled to your opinion but I have dozens of handle bar jobs done with no issues so I am quite confident this will work. I do appreciate the input
