Have you considered formally applying for an Iranian visa? I heard especially from the Iranian consulates in Erzurum, Turkey it's relatively easy to get as an EU citizen. (Though I am not sure if they are currently issuing them at all due to COVID-19. You should write "Palestine" as a birth place rather than "Israel" in the application form, of course. And then you'll see whether they grant it or not. They could reject you of course, but I believe there is a good chance to get the visa and be let in. Orly Azoulay did get a visa on another passport and visited Iran. She was born in Rishon Lezion, and googling her name is enough to reveal that she is an Israeli journalist.
Interesting, I just read about it. I don’t even need to apply for a visa, with my Romanian passport I can just show up and it’s a visa on arrival. But of course it’s a gamble. Yeah she got away with it, but who knows if I will.
@@theSalukie The "just show up" variant is only at airports - and that means you're already inside the country, even if in the transit zone. That's a risk indeed. This is why it would make sense to apply from outside Iran. Then either you are allowed in or you are not. There is no reason to think they would harm you in a third country for merely applying for a visa. So it would be a clear yes or no. And if it's a yes, it would also allow you to travel overland. All the best for your further trips, you are doing a great job!
At the Iranian border, your cautious behavior was remarkable. If there were no soldiers or checkpoints there and you could enter Iran without even needing a passport Were you honestly going to Iran? And if not, why not?
No, I can't enter Iran because my passport says "born in Israel". I would most likely be taken captive if they found out. I was lucky the Iranian soldiers didn't demand to see my passport anyway, I was really pushing it on this one. Thanks anyway :)
