One of my best friends is Persian!! I simply adore her. She left during the Revolution when she was a little girl (by herself!!). She became a doctor. I keep begging her to write a book. I love hearing her stories!! The Persians that I have met are wonderful people!! I’m in the USA and I feel so blessed to know them!!

However, people like you really make me understand why we might be going through our own sort of Judgment sooner rather than later. We (the US) overthrew Iran’s democratically elected leader in 1953 for oil interests. Now we are threatening to do it again, probably for the same reason. Trump ripped up the nuclear deal that Iran was actually following and has been waging economic war with his sanctions.
The Iranian government is probably not great but in terms of global impact, it’s actually my government that is the world’s biggest terrorist as sad as that is. We have overthrown dozens of countries for corporate interests since WW2.

Way back in 1970, I worked for PanAm airline. The crews would stay at the Royal Tehran Hilton. It was a gorgeous hotel on a hill overlooking the city. I’ll never forget the lobby which had a huge picture of the Shah, beautiful Persian carpets and white velvet couches. During one visit I met the famous Truman Capote. Why he was in Iran I’ll never know.

I live in Montreal and I have tens of Iranian friends, I think the problem is all in our heads. Once we take politics and religions out of the game, you will notice that people are very cool.
Mohannad Menshawy my husband is Persian and my neighbor who lives a block away is Egyptian. I’m taking care of their 🐈 he seems to love us, I think he brought us together. I love Egypt because when the USA, France, Britain, Israel and its allies deliberately destroyed Iran’s longest ruling empire they were one of the few who didn’t closed their door for the shah. And indeed politics clogs peoples mind. My mother has been to Egypt, my wish is that I can visit soon and Iran. Don’t listen to the media Egypt is safe to visit just like Iran.
