When I flip a product to read ingredients I immediately pretend I'm Hyram like, okay that's a good ingredient that will cleanse your face without overly stripping and is good for sensitive skin. I-
I just wish hyram would make his own skincare line so I don't have to search anywhere else. edit: Before anyone going to write critical/negative comment here, this is just a simple comment. I simply stated that it was nice to see someone like him that cares about buyer/user a lot. wish skin care line companies would be more like him. c'mon you guys are better than bringing unnecessary negative vibe.
Thanks but according to me. Rosehip seed oil isn't the worst actually for me it's the best I use the same one and Oh boy! It really saved my skin and prevented whiteheads.
the ordinary is not perfect, but we owe them so much. when i tried to get into skin care i had the choice between the drugstore and expensive brands youtubers recommended like kiehls or fresh. the ordinary bridged that price gap and for a lot of us shifted the focus from packaging and claims to ingredients and concentrations. brands like the inkey list would probably not be here if it wasnt for the ordinary and their success. They have great customer service and ethics, i will probably always have 2 or 3 ordinary products in my routine and will always support and recommend them ❤️
I agree, we do owe TO. Not only is it creating demand for ingredient based, less gimmicky skincare but their competitors have to compete with their prices too. I love seeing products boast about their ingredients rather than overpromising with catchy taglines "anti-ageing, fortifying, hydrating etc" and underdelivering.
We owe them nothing, they are not that transparent with the actual ingredients in some of their products and it's cheap because of the quality of ingredients they use. I bought a couple of things and won't be again.
@@hannahp2240 you* owe them nothing. everyone’s skin is different, cerave didnt work great for me, but its still a good brand. TO’s red mask cleared my acne scars when nothing else worked. you took the chance it wouldn’t work on your skin or you didn’t use it for long enough, but that’s your bad experience, most people have better results :)
@@steph2190 you still don't owe the brand anything. Glad some things worked for you. Maybe something with even better quality ingredients would be even better. I use natural already and tried the Ordinary as it claimed to be anothet simple solution and i found the quality lacking. If you try other brands doing the same thing then I'm sure youd notice the difference too.
@@hannahp2240 then feel free to buy what you like haha. it’s a cheaper version, that’s the whole point of having a currency, you pay more for things that are more expensive. whatever works best for you is great, but i do owe them something because that’s my personal opinion and i appreciate what their product did for me. do nice things=get nice things back. plus owe isn’t even a real thing, idk why this is such a big deal lol

I swear by the Ordinary's rose hip seed oil. I've been using it for a year and a half, and my acne scars have almost totally disappeared. My dry skin loves it!!
right! I love Hyram, but I don’t think he understands dry skin since his is oily. I love using rose hip oil as a last step after my moisturizer. The squalene cleanser is also fine to use as a morning face wash that’s not stripping. I just don’t like that it’s hard to work into more of an oil.
I swear by it as well. I've been using it for hmm I want to say 7-8 months now and just wow. So big of a difference. I have stopped using makeup most days because my skin looks so nice after my acne scars disappeared
@@Noah-mj8sj He says it in his description! Hyram is a skin care “specialist” and has checked in with many dermatologists and estheticians to see if he is able to call himself one! He also doesn’t want to call himself an expert because he considers himself below that an expert/guru. regardless, he is definitely a life saver.
I fall into the "nothing else works" category for the ordinary rosehip oil. My skin is super sensitive so minimal ingredients is a huge plus, & this product literally saved my skin from dryness/flaking
@@ashleym5696 I’m praying for your skin. Essential oils are so bad for your skin and you likely don’t have sensitive skin if you can add fragrant things and not break out or get irritation/ redness

hyram idk if you knew but there’s a customizable hair care company called Function of Beauty and they recently came out with a customizable skin care... so uh i think you know what to do
I absolutely love Natural Moisturizing Factors. It’s an incredibly underrated product from the Ordinary. My skin is dry, prone to sebhorroic dermatitis and extremely sensitive and after trying literally *anything* I stumbled into NFM and my life changed forever. It’s literally the gentlest, yet most effective moisturizer I ever tried. It’s thick though, so def not for oily skin. I’ve been using it for over a year, every day and it’s still working flawlessly. Also the 150ml tube is about 9€ and lasts for 4 months. I really can’t ask for anything more 💖
When I heard everyone hates the squalane cleanser I was so confused lol, I love it but I also ONLY use it as a makeup remover for a double cleanse routine, which the directions say is fair to do. This cleanser would not get deep enough if I was using it alone, but as a makeup remover, it helps my skin stay hydrated and fresh after a long day of a full face.
I have dry/sensitive skin and it's the only cleanser that doesn't strip my face or make it break out. I use it as my everyday cleanser on bare skin.. Haven't really used makeup this year because of corona, haha :(

I will always stand the ordinary cause it pretty much cleared my skin. I think it’s a great brand if you know what’s good and bad for your skin and already know a bit about skincare
Ya agreed. The B oil is my fall/winter skin saviour, it's literally the only thing that keeps my skin from turning into a straight up crocodile situation. Most of their oils work really well for me, actually. I use the chia seed oil to remove makeup in the fall/winter as well, it keeps my skin so soft.
Their Niacinamide serum saved my skin. Now I just don't know what to do with this almost full $200 prescription retinoid I have because its too strong and I don't really need it anymore. I want to use it, but it makes my skin so dry and flakey. I'll never stop using certain The Ordinary products though
Yes I agree. Cause now I want to use retinol but rather use at night but before which product and and how often. Also how often to use the peel solution mask?
Hyram: Everyone knows The Ordinary is super cheap me who comes from Malaysia : 👁👄👁 (edit) Wow, can't believe many people can relate to me 😂😭😭😭😭 I assume all of you are from Asia? the same as me? or not- anyway if we convert the price to MYR (Malaysia money), it cost around 43 MYR - 70 MYR. not to mention for CeraVe, it cost around 40 MYR - 200+ MYR 😭 I know this because I'm a reseller for these and it's rather pricey... my boss had to buy the ones at the UK or Korean website for the authentic and cheaper ones.
I know rightttt! I kinda shifted to another local brand for Niacinamide and Panthenol. But nevertheless, I still use their glycolic acid toner. I just like how wide of a range of products they provide.
I appreciate and respect how truly honest he always is on these videos. A lot of people (celebrities to youtubers) say whatever the companies want them to say just because they give them money or they care about their positions. I don’t blame them since its understandable thinking about their position in society, but i really love Hyram’s honesty, his knowledge-spreading-ability and, of course, his charm !
Hi Hyram, I bought the Ordinary Niacinamide serum, and it really helped reduce my acne. Most acne treatments i use (for some reason) make my skin look darker and dull, but this product has reduced my acne AND lightened my skin (with a non-oily glow)! I use two drops and pat it into my face. My skincare morning/night routine: Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser (good for basic cleansing), Niacinamide the Ordinary serum, and the CeraVe moisturizing lotion for dry to normal skin (sunscreen in the mornings). Thank you for everything you taught me~
I use some different products but they're the exact same steps 😅 I use the CeraVe foaming facial cleanser, Ordinary niacinamide serum, and the Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer (and the Neutrogena moisturizer with spf when I plan on going out) I do use Retina-A occasionally though.
HI! I don't know if you wear makeup but a big thing that helped me was switching to mineral foundation with a short ingredient list. I use Lily Lolo and always like to spread the word, because it really did help me x x

hey, just wanted to let you know that India actually has a brand which is a great dupe for the ordinary called "the minimalist". They are a very recent brand but offer pretty good, ingredient-based formulations like the ordinary at an affordable price!
The squalane cleanser is marketed as a cleanser and makeup remover, and it is definitely designed more to remove makeup. I do a double cleanse with the squalane first then a CeraVe cleanser and it’s the best makeup remover routine I’ve ever had.
I was wondering if I could follow up with the cerave cleanser. I love the squalene for my makeup removal, nothing does that good of a job! Do you have dry skin? Do you have problems w it stripping your skin?
Tysm when he said it’s meant for mainly dry skin I freaked out cause I just got it and it’s AMAZING at removing makeup but I did realize it didn’t really cleanse my skin as much as I would like so thank you for the recommendation.
Same!! I only use it to remove make up and it’s amazing. It doesn’t irritate my skin and literally gets all of it off which I love! I then go in with my SA renewal cleanser from CeraVe.
An oil can not possibly hydrate skin and actually is likely to severely dehydrate it (but it can moisturise skin) so make sure to still use a hydrating cream. 👍
@@morgianasartre6709 hmmm an oil is an occlusive because it is non polar so it repels water therefore locking it in the skin so technically hydrating it but yes we need humectants too to draw water ♥️
@@morgianasartre6709 i think that some products have to be paired with the correct product, it has to be a complete routine, I am sure this person uses other things with it, it’s so interesting how some products work for some and don’t for others even with the same skin types
@@ravenbongcawil8395 That is why I said it can moisturize but not hydrate, oil can only retain water in the skin not add it so moisturizingbut not hydrating.

Hyram please do “Truth About Olay” they have stepped up the game with serums & face creams. No longer an old lady drugstore skincare brand *Hint hint* *Niacinamide*
When you find the products, can you give examples of the “correct” amount? Is that a squeeze full aka 1 syringe or half a squeeze or squeeze plus a lil squeeze? Thanks from the visual learners.
usually pea size so fingertip for serums and moisturizers; not too much cleanser just that everything is coated; spf just a lot lot theres no correct amount u could do one layer then one layer again , oh and important; moisturize on damp skin so theres no water evaporation loss (moisturizer with humectans like hyaluronic acid glycerin and emollients like capric glycerides) humectans seek in lots of water/moisture in the skin and the emollients cover the skin to trap in the moisture because of the damp skin u will have to use very less product than u would have to on dry skin !! on damp skin the products will penetrate deeper, so be careful with actives if u have sensitive skin so with serum with an active in it i usually use it after i moisturised and my skin become dry, or after i cleansed and dried my skin (this also with an exfoliant) pls correct me if im wrong im a skincare guru lol look at dr dray her youtube
I do whatever my face can absorb. I'll start with one drop on each cheek and my forehead and massage it in, then add more if it doesn't reach all areas. I do more for serums so like 6 drops total probably of the buffet serum and 4 for niaciminide. For the rose hip oil I do only 3 drops or its way to oily on my face and doesn't absorb. I'll do this one on my fingers and pat it into my face.
it depends on what products you're referring to? do you have any specific ones in mind? for the serums (niacinamide and hyaluronic acid) i only use two drops, for creams (like the azelaic acid) i just use a pea sized drop, for the aha/bha face mask (you have to be very careful about ones like these) you only need to put on a thin layer so one full "syringe" or "squeeze" of the dropper thing is sufficient i believe. im not sure it that helps but its what i do and i have been fine

Just a warning to anyone thinking about trying the caffeine serum. When I used it I had a lot of luck with getting rid of under eye darkness, however after about a week my eye started to twitch and I couldn’t figure out why. It turns out that this serum can make you have an eye twitch and I read reviews that said this happened to them too. So I do thinks it’s a good product but I would just be careful about that
I had the exact same reaction! It also dried out my under eyes and increased the texture too (despite how much moisturizer I would use to hydrate my skin.) Can’t seem to find a happy medium 🙃
thank you for the review, i was about to buy my mom the caffeine serum because she keeps "complaining" about her under eye. i may try to find another alternative first.
I use it for about 3 months now. First I put it on every night, but it really irritates my eye while trying to sleep. So now I put it on every morning and it works just fine, like my dark circles are almost gone (they were super bad). But if anyone wants to buy it please be careful. Don’t put to much on, bc it is very strong and irritating for your eye. (I would recommend it tho)

hi!! how has their azelaic acid been working for you? i’ve been planning on incorporating AA into my routine but im not sure which brand to get it from 🤧
@@collenagustin3011 I used to use a brand from India and thought that was much better. My dermatologist had told me to use Aziderm 10% AA (its not in US). The Ordinary AA works fine and gets absorbed quickly into the skin. I haven't had issues with it but I find the Aziderm better.
I honestly wouldn't use azelaic acid and niacinamide at the same time. It may be too much for your skin even if you haven't been breaking out. And if you start breaking out, you wouldn't know which product it is because you use them so consistently, day and night.
Personally, for me, i absolutely adore Rosehip seed oil. I’ve gone through about 4 bottles so far and I want to talk about what I know about it (from a bit of research I did on oils affecting skin) Rosehip seed oil is high in linoleic acid, it also contains a small amount of oleic acid (and according to google has a bit of tretinoin which is a retinoid) linoleic acid is great for oily, acne prone and sensitive skin or skin with eczema while oleic is great for dehydrated (oily but feels dry) dry and combination skin. They work on the oils in your skin itself (which I won’t get into but a quick google search can help you out) so depending on if you have dry skin or if you have oily skin linoleic and oleic acid helps your skin in different ways ^-^ They’re present in oils (i would recommend liah yoo’s video on them myself but google would work just as well) so even if you have super greasy and super oily skin, an oil can do wonders if you pick it correctly. Rosehip seed oil has high levels of linoleic acid, along with its own benefits of retinol and anti oxidants and all that good stuff- basically, you can mix it with your moisturiser or put it on after moisturiser because it has a really good hydrating effect. It helps to repair your skin and helps with your ✨oiliness✨, your acne scars, eczema, and it has anti inflammatory properties :) On to concentration!~ you yourself have linoleic acid in your body and it’s main effect is on the oils coming out of your pores, people with oily skin and a lot of acne have a lower amount of linoleic acid in their skin which makes the oil (coming out of their pores- sorry i forgot its name lmao) thick and sludgy which blocks pores and makes acne :) more linoleic acid = fixes that issue = helps with acne oleic acid is a thicker and richer acid, ✨however✨ while it is great for dry skin you can’t really use 100% of it. Concentration-wise, you should have both acids in your oil / skincare routine to help it balance out (unless 100% only works for you like he said ^-^) use a balance of both, just have MORE linoleic than oleic if you have acne ridden faces and if you have dry skin use a balance of both but more toward the oleic side ~ also, they may be great moisturisers but put them on either before moisturiser or after moisturiser (or you can mix it with moisturiser too!) No hate to hyram, i want to give out information on the topic since I really love oils 🥰
The Ordinary products : They are not "cheap", they are "inexpensive". I think there is a difference. Just saying 😉 Love your input and love your channel, continue to educate us on products good and not so good ingredients and their effects on our skin 🥰

I'd love to see a comparison between the ordinary and some of their sister brands like NIOD and Hylamide. Also, I love the squalane cleanser! Definitely for dry and/or sensitive skin, but it was a saviour for my skin this winter. I had upped my retinol usage and was not prepared for how dry my skin would get when winter started, so having a cleanser that wouldn't strip my skin was a godsend. Personally, you need to take your time with it: get it melted, massage into the skin for a good 3-5mins, then emulsify it thoroughly before rinsing off.
I've used Hylamide before - I love the eye serum but I felt that the serum I tried was very similar to TO's Buffet serum and Buffet is loads more inexpensive. I second having an indepth look at NIOD and Hylamide to look at it from an ingredients comparison perspective
@@hannathehumblebard101 I've used Hylamide's hyaluronic acid serum and it's really nice, much lighter and a little thinner than the ordinary HA+B5, but that's the only experience I have with the brand. NIOD looks great but it's pricey.

I've been struggling with severe acne since I was 10. Fast forward through several doctor and dermatologist visits, prescriptions both oral and topical, and over the counter treatments I never quite found anything that stopped the severe acne. I was 'that kid' in school. My last option was accutane, but I refused after watching my brother go through the rollercoaster ride of accutane. Now 22, I finally found something that works which was the oridinary. I was hesitant, feeling entirely certain that this wouldnt work either. I started using the products (ones that targeted the specific problems I was having). I read up on how to use them, when to use them, what I could and couldnt layer them with etc. Almost my entire routine is the ordinary. I used it for the 6 week period that they say will show whether or not the products work... and the results were less than amazing. I continued it anyway. I've now been using the ordinary for roughly 6 months and I've never seen my skin so happy. I am coated in scars, but my skin isnt actively breaking out like it had for the past 12 years. I still get some bad ones, but for the most part I'm just working on healing my scars. I am more than satisfied:)

Ok, feel free to pass judgement, but here’s my routine: Inky list salicylic acid cleanser The ordinary caffeine solution (eyes only) Ordinary’s alpha arbutin Ordinary’s niacinamide CeraVe moisturizing lotion SUNSCREEN (Elta MD) At night, I’ll do the Buffet after the niacinamide, and ever 4 nights I’ll do the AHA BHA peel (ordinary). That night, I skip the Buffet. Honestly, this routine works pretty well for me, but I’m always looking for improvements. Feel free to help a gal out.

I hope that you find what truly makes you happy♡♡♡♡
I’ve tried millions of eye creams and the caffeine is the ONLY thing that has ever completely removed my puffy, dark circles. In one day. I cannot say enough amazing things about it
I love the CeraVe cleansers! I do agree that it's not super cleansing but I think it's great alone if you don't wear makeup! If you do use makeup, you definitely need to take your makeup off completely before cleansing with them. I am trying so hard to get my skin healthy and clear and your videos have been soooo helpful in my journey! TYSM
I honestly love the squalane cleanser! I have dry acne prone skin that usually reacts to oils with “fungal acne”. But I guess as squalane isn’t technically an oil it doesn’t react to it. Also I can’t use ANY water based cleansers. I have tried so many (even the ones that were specifically made for sensitive skin) but for some reason any water based cleanser will destroy my skin barrier. So now I just double cleanse with the squalane cleanser. I wear quite a lot of makeup and it does remove it perfectly. The only thing that’s annoying about the cleanser is that you have to take your time with massaging it in.
He recommended in a video a while ago because of the ingredient list! I went through 2 jars to give it a fair shot and it was terrible. It’s not fragranced but smells like old plastic wood (if that even makes sense lol). I have normal skin and somehow it made my skin feel dry, dehydrated and dull. Definitely would NOT repurchase.
I’ve actually moved away from The Ordinary since I started using their products a year ago, because the brands products helped me figure out what to look for in other, more well-rounded ones. I think they can be good for people trying to isolate the ingredients that work best for their skin or to make sure that it doesn’t create irritation or a reaction. Like, when I started getting good results from the niacinamide 10%, I looked for other serums that built around that ingredient, but included a lot of other complimentary ingredients. While I know The Ordinary can be confusing, I do actually think it’s a good gateway into knowing what exactly works for you, because their formulations are so simple.
Daytime: buffet, toner, hylauronic acid, niacinamide, EUK, Azeliac acid, sun cream Nighttime: buffet, hylauronic acid, caffeine solution, granactive retinoid, rosehip seed oil. How is this for oily acne routine with sensitivity and some dryness 😬🤔
my skin care routine •CeraVe foaming cleanser •The ordinary Hyaluronic acid •The ordinary Niacinamide or The inkey list vitamin c •CeraVe moisturizing lotion •Avene clearence spf 50 •The ordinary AHA BHA onces a week I have oily skin and i get breakouts, should i add a retinol?Should i tey any new product?
I also have breakouts and yes I think you could add in a retinol! I looove the CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum it really helped with the texture of my skin! Just start slow with it, like once a week, then twice a week, and work your way up. Also i wouldnt use it the same day as your vitamin C serum or AHA/BHA :)
@@Marieee180 I actually don’t recommend that retinol because the actual percentage of retinol in that cerave product doesn’t have that much compared to prescription ones. If you have decent insurance it will cover retinol, I use the one called “retin-a” its the absolute best!!!!! I really dont think drugstore retinol is all that great because the actual percentages in them are NEVER that high. But hey at least you are using one at all, the best skincare product for acne, anti aging, lines, etc.
@@Marieee180 i use the vitamin c 3 times a week and i don't use the peel the same day:) also i don't have access to many cerave products so i was thinking more of the inkey list of the ordinary retinol but i am scared that it may react to my skin(my skin can tolerate a lot)or that i don't know what percentage to get
@@katia5915 To test how your skin will react to a product just put some of the product on the back of your hand or arm area for 3 days or so. If there is no reaction then that product should be perfectly alright to use on your face. You can usually look up your skin type and what retinol percentage is best. For example, “oily skin dermatologist recommended retinol percentage” just to be safe! I recommend the inkey list, la roche posay, or paulas choice (my personal fav) for retinol if you do not have access to prescription ones!
I'd suggest adding vitamin C. I use the suspension 23% one from the ordinary. Need to keep in mind that this should be used after applying all the water based products.
You make me laugh so so so hard! For someone on the ADHD squad, it's so nice to finally enjoy learning! Thank you for introducing me to Skincare, you have created such a beautiful environment to 1. Finally have a way of self love and self care I didn't even know existed. 2. not feel embarrassed about learning and education! Thank you Hyram ❤
I loved the ordinary, I placed my first order exactly a year ago, however... it’s been so sold out.... I haven’t been able to repurchase. I also have pretty sensitive skin so I was pretty sparing with their products so they lasted me a long time. I’m shocked to learn these teenagers are using this as their full routine. I was using their toner (before I ran out), the red exfoliator (before it ran out), and the vitamin c serum and that’s all I needed
All the products I was interested in were in stock on the Deciem site (I live in the Netherlands and they shipped it from the UK), maybe you could try that?
I love that cleanser!! I use it as a first step in my double cleanse. I recently switched back to the inkey list oat balm cus I finished the squalene one, but I realised I actually like the feel of the ordinary more!
I totally agree! Never remove sunscreen from your skin care routine. All dermatologists recommend that. I’m also using Niacinamide and Buffet which i added to my existing skin care that has worked for me for years and the results are just so good! I love The Ordinary! ❤️
Niod (by Deciem) actually focuses on products that are more well-rounded while The Ordinary was just supposed to be a brand like you said, for those who are experienced with skincare but would like to add in solutions to their routine, without paying a huge price for simple ingredients. Deciem actually didn't expect the ordinary to blow up because they had created 10 brands other brands and none of them made it big. Deciem likes to make these helpful ingredients easily accessible to a wide audience where everyone can afford it as well, but I think what would help is if they put instructions on the box or a little paper inside explaining what the product does, how and when to use it, and how much to use. If they don't already. Because even friends have asked me how to use the products. Niod focuses more on the ever changing technology of the skincare industry and formulates with that as the focus. Very interesting. 🤔
Haven’t done my skincare routine in months cause I’ve been “too busy” or “too tired”, but I was rewatching some of Hyram’s videos and got reinspired, so I did my routine last night and dang! I haven’t woken up to my face looking this hydrated in so long!
At this point, every time I shop for skincare, hyram's voice guides me like an angel

@@hibaliaquat6509 well he said in the vidoe the same thing .That it works for so many people but also for so many it doesn't
the ordinary is not perfect, but we owe them so much. when i tried to get into skin care i had the choice between the drugstore and expensive brands youtubers recommended like kiehls or fresh. the ordinary bridged that price gap and for a lot of us shifted the focus from packaging and claims to ingredients and concentrations. brands like the inkey list would probably not be here if it wasnt for the ordinary and their success.
@@hannahp2240 then feel free to buy what you like haha. it’s a cheaper version, that’s the whole point of having a currency, you pay more for things that are more expensive. whatever works best for you is great, but i do owe them something because that’s my personal opinion and i appreciate what their product did for me. do nice things=get nice things back. plus owe isn’t even a real thing, idk why this is such a big deal lol

right! I love Hyram, but I don’t think he understands dry skin since his is oily. I love using rose hip oil as a last step after my moisturizer. The squalene cleanser is also fine to use as a morning face wash that’s not stripping. I just don’t like that it’s hard to work into more of an oil.

It's my favorite oil cleanser too! I also use it for double cleansing, it removes my makeup like nothing else.
I like it too! it takes my makeup off so well and after it I just go with a gentle gel cleanser, it works like a charm
It works so gooooooooood as a makeup remover. I wanted to hate it so bad..... but it actually does the job pretty well and it’s very affordable
I have dry/sensitive skin and it's the only cleanser that doesn't strip my face or make it break out. I use it as my everyday cleanser on bare skin.. Haven't really used makeup this year because of corona, haha :(

Ya agreed. The B oil is my fall/winter skin saviour, it's literally the only thing that keeps my skin from turning into a straight up crocodile situation. Same!! I only use it to remove make up and it’s amazing. It doesn’t irritate my skin and literally gets all of it off which I love! I then go in with my SA renewal cleanser from CeraVe.

The rose hip oil has literally saved my skin, it hydrates it SO MUCH
An oil can not possibly hydrate skin and actually is likely to severely dehydrate it (but it can moisturise skin) so make sure to still use a hydrating cream. 👍
Mine too and it helped so much with redness and skin texture
@@morgianasartre6709 hmmm an oil is an occlusive because it is non polar so it repels water therefore locking it in the skin so technically hydrating it but yes we need humectants too to draw water ♥️

Hyram please do “Truth About Olay” they have stepped up the game with serums & face creams. No longer an old lady drugstore skincare brand *Hint hint* *Niacinamide*
They actually put niacinamide on the map.
Yes eventhough im 16 my mum bought me olay creams since i was 13 and my skin is so good
When you find the products, can you give examples of the “correct” amount? Is that a squeeze full aka 1 syringe or half a squeeze or squeeze plus a lil squeeze? Thanks from the visual learners.
usually pea size so fingertip for serums and moisturizers;
not too much cleanser just that everything is coated;
spf just a lot lot theres no correct amount u could do one layer then one layer again ,
oh and important; moisturize on damp skin so theres no water evaporation loss (moisturizer with humectans like hyaluronic acid glycerin and emollients like capric glycerides)
humectans seek in lots of water/moisture in the skin and the emollients cover the skin to trap in the moisture
because of the damp skin u will have to use very less product than u would have to on dry skin
!! on damp skin the products will penetrate deeper, so be careful with actives if u have sensitive skin
so with serum with an active in it i usually use it after i moisturised and my skin become dry, or after i cleansed and dried my skin (this also with an exfoliant)
pls correct me if im wrong im a skincare guru lol
look at dr dray her youtube

I need help...I’m 14 and I’m new to skincare. I have normal skin and breakouts happen once a month but my skin texture is kinda rough I have no idea like should I use serums or chemical exfoliaters on my skin? plus my under eyes are dark and i have wrinkles 😭 edit: English is my second language sorry of it is bad
@@bankio1883 Your English is amazing, don't worry. Your skin texture might be rough because your skin lacks moisture - before you try any serums or chemical exfoliators I would strongly recommend finding a cleanser, moisturizer, and an SPF (sunscreen) that work for you and start following a skincare routine with just those products for a few months. For some people, these are all the things they will ever need, but for others, that's when serums or chemical exfoliators come into place but you shouldn't be worried about those just yet. When you're buying skincare products, please remember that expensive doesn't always mean that it's good. If you have more questions, please come visit us at Reddit SkincareAddiction

So I do thinks it’s a good product but I would just be careful about that
Me too!!! I thought I was going CRAZY! But I played around with it and it truly does cause eye twitching.
I have the same experience!! It’s kinda irritating especially when my skin is on its drier day. I’d recommend only using a small amount...

13:02 “except the emotional damage your ex left, it can’t help that” HYRAM AHDHSBAHDJ
pain
Lmaooo, that moment when I educated my ex on skincare and got him hooked on retinol and now I’m left with emotional damage
They work on the oils in your skin itself (which I won’t get into but a quick google search can help you out) so depending on if you have dry skin or if you have oily skin linoleic and oleic acid helps your skin in different ways ^-^
They’re present in oils (i would recommend liah yoo’s video on them myself but google would work just as well) so even if you have super greasy and super oily skin, an oil can do wonders if you pick it correctly. Rosehip seed oil has high levels of linoleic acid, along with its own benefits of retinol and anti oxidants and all that good stuff- basically, you can mix it with your moisturiser or put it on after moisturiser because it has a really good hydrating effect. It helps to repair your skin and helps with your ✨oiliness✨, your acne scars, eczema, and it has anti inflammatory properties :)
On to concentration!~
you yourself have linoleic acid in your body and it’s main effect is on the oils coming out of your pores, people with oily skin and a lot of acne have a lower amount of linoleic acid in their skin which makes the oil (coming out of their pores- sorry i forgot its name lmao) thick and sludgy which blocks pores and makes acne :)
more linoleic acid = fixes that issue = helps with acne
oleic acid is a thicker and richer acid, ✨however✨ while it is great for dry skin you can’t really use 100% of it.
Concentration-wise, you should have both acids in your oil / skincare routine to help it balance out (unless 100% only works for you like he said ^-^)
use a balance of both, just have MORE linoleic than oleic if you have acne ridden faces and if you have dry skin use a balance of both but more toward the oleic side ~ also, they may be great moisturisers but put them on either before moisturiser or after moisturiser (or you can mix it with moisturiser too!)
No hate to hyram, i want to give out information on the topic since I really love oils 🥰

So ELF came out with a new hemp line and all the ingredients have zero fragrance, I’d love to hear your thoughts!! Especially about the moisturizer.
I personally love it! I use it everyday 2 jars down! it is a great semi thick moisturizer that I love for our Alaskan winters!
It’s AMAZING try it!

Can we talk about the fact that everything you recommend is literally sold out everywhere? 👀
Not where I'm from 😂
My Ulta online is like fully stocked.

@@puckengelbarts8784 same, go direct to the source!
Ulta usually has it in stock
I love that cleanser!! I use it as a first step in my double cleanse. I recently switched back to the inkey list oat balm cus I finished the squalene one, but I realised I actually like the feel of the ordinary more!
Hyram: "the squalane cleanser doesn't really do anything"
Me, putting the squalane cleanser on my face at that very moment: 👁👄👁
Skincare is subjective. What works for one person may not work for another.
I just ran out and already miss it terribly. Best cleanser ever!
Ngl one of my fav cleansers 💓
It's amazing - and dissolves everything. It's my 'go to'' first cleanse. 😊
@@michellesoliman6547 Same here. I always double cleanser, first with an oil based cleanser and then with a water based one.

Hyram, I would love to see you review Deciem’s two other skincare brands.
Trying NIOD currently!

You have to try the SanSkrit Saponins from NIOD. It’s so good for oily/congested skin and had totally saved me from breaking out EVER!

Haven’t done my skincare routine in months cause I’ve been “too busy” or “too tired”, but I was rewatching some of Hyram’s videos and got reinspired, so I did my routine last night and dang! I haven’t woken up to my face looking this hydrated in so long!
