In the Summer of '92 I took a vacation to Boulder, Colorado and stayed at the Holiday Inn Holidome which had a giant indoor pool and jacuzzi. Took a dip in the jacuzzi and after a bit these guys come buy and get in. We start talking and I told them what I did and they said they played music. Then they tell me they just released a record. I asked who they were and they said Spin Doctors. That was cool. But in September of that same year I couldn't believe what I saw when watching Saturday Night Live - they were the band! It was awesome. They were princes. So cool! I'll never forget it.

More mysteriously still, my fiancée discriminates between "cold" and "warm" sounds in a way I haven't been able to reverse engineer despite being a musician with a decent grasp of music theory (she's neither of those things)
