I love Sig products but the producer of this video did a poor job of actually showing how to do the installation. You couldn’t see the parts or any close up of the repair. The field of view should have been about 12 inches not 5 feet. Find another install video.
Please note the screws that are already on the slide you need to remove to mount the optic may be a Torx head. Mine was a T10 on a P365 XL purchased spring ‘23. I see a lot of reviews saying the screws become stripped while trying to remove with the Allen key provided with the optic. Shame on you SIG…
Funny how he removed the rear sight plate before the video started so they don't have to explain stripping out the bolts trying to remove it with the tool they provided. Lazy ignorance
I just installed this optic on my p365 yesterday. I started by trying to remove the screws from the sight plate with the Allen wrench provided. Obviously this did not work. I looked through the owners manual of the gun to find that the sight plate was attached with t10 screws. Fortunately I had a t10 bit and driver that made the removal and install a cinch. I wonder why the optic didn’t come with t10 screws and a t10 bit so you could use 1 tool. Also as many have said here, it was confusing.
So the video and manual say 3/4; turn past where the screw makes solid contact, which I did. I used a torque meter to set to 9 in-lb, and the screws required a lot more tightening than 3/4 turn.
Why do some Sigg red dots mount all the way to the rear of the gun with no rear iron sight and some of them you have to keep the iron sight because the dovetail is separate from the mounting plate, depression for the red dot?
The video mentions torquing the screws to 9 inch pounds. Is the correct or should it be 90 inch pounds? The minimum setting on my inch pound torque wrench is 40.
So in order to replace the battery, the optic needs to be uninstalled from the firearm then? Nice. No mention of Loktite? No mention of retorquing at regular intervals? No mention of iron sights? Gases blow through a hole under the optic mount? Torx screws out, M3 in? I guess it's all in the manual.
For me, a red dot scope would defeat the entire purpose of the SAS model of the P365. The OEM sight does suck though. Try a LIMA365 red or green dot trigger guard laser. That’s worked great for me while keeping the SAS nice and tight for EDC.
Just tried removing optic plate screws on 365x-macro. They will not budge. Might have to send a brand new pistol back to the factory. It’s bad enough that you can’t release the slide with an empty magazine inserted (you can’t even slingshot it) but I just got a Romeo zero elite that will go to waste. You’ve got some bugs to work out
Overall, this is a good video but you need to show a much closer shot when demonstrating how to mount the sight. A closer shot would have allow viewers to fully understand how to mount. Thank You.
I’ll never add an optic to my P365X, I installed a Sig Lima Green Laser that is much more practical for a EDC, I’ll never understand this optic on a EDC..
I'd recommend trying optics before bashing them, since I've gotten mine I won't go back to irons unless necessary. My glasses make my sights blurry, but my target clear, without glasses my target is blurry and my sights are clear. The optic makes everything clear with glasses (that I'll be wearing anyways). You also have quicker target acquisition with it
@@ZeFatController I understand your situation with your eyesight, however I respectfully disagree with the optic on an edc providing quicker target acquisition. The Lima laser is molded to fit the P365, any version, it holds its zero just as good as any Red Dot optic, with that green laser, you don’t have to look through anything, you aim that laser without the need to look through an optic in the heat of potential self defense situation.
@@ZeFatController I use Red Dot optic on PCC’s, but those are rifles, but I have to have them on my rifles, so I’m a Red Dot optic guy just not on my edc…
For a company that specializes in helping people shoot things, this video was horribly shot. How about having the camera closer to what the technician is actually doing?
I hope that the owner's manual that you threw to the side is much more informative than this video. Removing the optic plate is a pretty important step to know! 👎🏾👎🏾
This video absolutely sucked. even trying to zoom in and seeing wha this man was doing is hard. please redo the video. so we can actually follow a long. actually show us what you are doing

It’s not that hard lol. It’s pretty straight forward.

Phewww i did one turn with that hex and something didnt feel right. Thought i stripped it but the T-9 torx was what worked for me. P365 x macro.
Why would you design the gas to shoot up through the optic?????🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

Okay so you showed half of the process. I would like help knowing how to take off the plate. This video did not help me.
Film it so the gun and red dot are REALLY small!

Are you supposed to use locktite on the screws or is that not needed?
Are the screws pre-treated with blue thread lock?
Problem is they don't send the torx bit you need to remove the sight plate.
Could you have filmed this any further away . Zero close ups .

If you are putting a Sig Romeo on the p365 or p365xl, do you need an adapter? I see places that say yes and some say no
I’m wondering this too!
He says turn the screw three quarters of a turn after bottoming out. Then turns 1/4 turn 😂 how many of you stripped them?
So we cannot reinstall the rear sight after the 3m is installed?
Will this Romeo work on a Taurus G2?
Stripped my screws I’m so dumb and used the wrong size tools for the different screw sizes one is 2mm hex the other is 10 torx bit
I can’t get the screws out of the optic plate to begin with! This video conveniently glosses over the first step!
I had trouble removing the sight plate screws on my 365 XL. Gunsmith did too. Even tried a soldering device. Had to send it back to Sig. Boo.

Adapter plate for the SAS Slide coming soon???? Since that ft bullseye sight sucks ass.

*buys the model of pistol that literally advertised how it took away the slide release and sight notches...
*Complains about lack of sight notches

Why would you need to close the slide on an empty mag? You could always remove the mag, send slide, and reinsert the empty mag for storage purposes.
Overall, this is a good video but you need to show a much closer shot when demonstrating how to mount the sight. A closer shot would have allow viewers to fully understand how to mount. Thank You.
Couldn’t see anything. Need to get the camera really close

This optic is trash. Wouldn’t stop lifting off the baseplate when I just want to install the optic
