I used what the guy in the video did to a stuck bit out of the drive. With a small difference. In stand of of wood holding the collar I used another pair of vice grips to hold the collar in place and whack the crap of the vice gripping the bit.
So if you just pull the collet with your fingers the bit comes out so easy. I cannot believe i never tried it. The part that holds the bit pull it outward and the just comes out
I found out long ago i was born to live life on hard mode. Heres a small example: Putting in an adjustable gate on a fence a built not long ago. Put the last hinge on the wrong side of the measurement. Naturally, all the screws were stripped out. **light bulb moment** "Use the stripped screw removal bit you picked up at the garage sale a month ago!" Not only did it not remove the stripped out screw (how does a screw strip out so easily at the head but seems to be super strong metal just past that?) but now the bit is stuck in the driver 😂😂😂 definitely not getting the job done now.
Used your method with vise grips after applying wd40. Held collar out and tapped vise grips with hammer and it came off. TY for saving the day.
Thank you for the help. This just saved me a lot of cash and from getting rid of a working tool.
Your the man! Great solution. Thanks for this.
Interesting. Is this a common problem with most makes?
God damn you saved me such a headache at work
Collet is not stuck on mine. Just the bit!
Does it remain stuck to this day or did you find a way to get it out?
