- Is it possible to max out the High-Score in Super Mario Maker 2? To collect a total of basically one billion points in only 500 in game seconds? A couple of days ago we took a look at this question, and we came to a conclusion: Nope, sadly not. All that we were able to achieve were lousy 788.086.500 Super Mario Maker 2 points. Getting more points,sadly simply appeared to be impossible….
Until recently, because recently a couple of very interesting Super Mario Maker 2 discoveries were made, which may allow us to reach the perfect Super Mario Maker 2 High Score!

"Childish" is the perfect way to describe Nintendo's glitch level policy.
You aren't wrong, but only in the way that all efforts to avoid embarrassment are childish. We're all somewhat guilty of that, even though the world would be a better place if we weren't.
The way Japanese culture handles embarrassment makes such behavior especially understandable. That doesn't make it right, but it does make it harder to resist.
I understand why they don’t want glitch levels for things like endless, but at the same time, this could of been fixed if they simply had a option if you wanted your levels to appear on endless with a somewhat strict set of rules and enforcement for endless.
Online levels I can just slightly understand, but I don't see any reason to delete offline levels.

@@corb5905 I guess the fix made the level incompatible with the level loader. To load the corrupted level they would need to ship both loaders, the old one and the new one. But whats the point in shipping and maintaining an extra loader to load glitched levels when they don't want glitches in the first place?
Wait... Why would Nintendo remove OFFLINE levels? I semk-understand removing public glitch levels, but PRIVATE ones? Wth
It's possible that, being a glitch, it genuinely is corrupting data somewhere. Because I don't even know if Nintendo is doing it. By the looks, it looks more like an error handler than a manual deletion.
AmberAmbitions Yeah Nintendo would have made it impossible to do instead of deleting a level. The glitch adds many more entities then the game can handle so it thinks it’s corrupted.

I could definitely see removing online levels as temporary solution while fixing it, but Idek if Nintendo can legally delete offline levels, as that is removing files without the users permission and therefore malware. And "Nintendo games are malware" isn't a headline Nintendo wants to see
I think it's not so much that they're reviewing levels and deleting them. I think Mario Maker 2 has a system of validating level data so that if a download legitimately gets corrupted, or someone hacks an impossible level into the game that might crash the game or otherwise harm the user experience, or risk being spread online, it can be identified and deleted. It probably identifies corruption by looking for level states that shouldn't be possible. When a new patch of the game comes out, level states that were valid become invalid, and it deletes your glitched level. It's kind of like how Smash Bros locks replays from old patches of the game, except they're smarter about it. They could probably put in extra work to make sure your glitch levels don't get deleted, but I guarantee they do not care about maintaining broken level designs in their game.

I would assume that the actual score is 99,999,999 and the game just puts an extra 0 on the end of the score since it only ever gives points in multiples of 10.

Nothing gives us single digit points. The minimum amount of points you can get from something is ten (I believe- feel free to correct me if it’s wrong).
Nintendo just decided that since nothing adds a value to the ones column, they shouldn’t bother calculating it.
Seeing how it takes five hours in a specially designed environment to reveal that decision, I think they are entitled to make such a decision.
@@coolcatmanc8476 minimum is 100 but 10 points can be achieved from remaining seconds after beating a level. Because of this, the last digit NEVER needs to be used so it isn't even programmed. I don't actually understand why the last digit is needed to be honest, just give us 10x less points from things and there, the point score works exactly the same but also all digits function properly

now you just need to make a level with that setup that's still beatable with the remaining 32 seconds. Then you can put it online and people can max out the score in normal gameplay.
Speaking of which, theoretically, it was always possible to reach the maximum score in MM2 through endless challenge, since your score carries over between levels in that, so if you keep going in endless challenge for long enough, your score could eventually max out. And if you did publish a level with this setup, it would probably be a lot easier to achieve that.
Do you really want to sit there for 5 hours in endless mode, just holding down one button? :D

@@B3nds0n_ What if there was a clear condition like 'Reach the goal with X score', and you could set it to the max score? Then they'd either have to skip or wait 5 hours each attempt. You could also combine that with a 32 second painfully hard precision jumping stage to pretty much guarantee the end of all no-skip runs.

I think I have a faster way, but I'm still perfecting it. It does include the POW block tricks but also a hidden trick that means your points will shoot up incredibly quickly. I took a huge advantage out of the permanently loaded section and...

Faster way: Use the current setup, plus the old "Giant spike helmet kills Goombas" setup, but also put the Goomba tracks into L-shapes (with the left one inverted) and put Paragoombas on the empty parts of those tracks

*Didn’t You Know?* This being surprisingly complicated is surprisingly surprising as the usual phrase of surprisingly simple is surprisingly missing until the solution was found to be actually unsurprisingly surprisingly simple.
Well, theoretically it is pretty easy to get the highest score. You just have to play many, many, maaaaaaaany infinite challenge levels.
I played like 500 levels in easy and had the first two digits at 7 and 8. The rest I sadly cannot remember, but if you are really patient, you could reach the max. points.
But it would most likely take longer than the 'Veedrac-Setup'

I have an idea! Different characters are different heights, so fireballs are thrown differently. This makes character detection machines possible. so, you can have a level only beatable by 1 character. Take 2 of these character detection contraptions, with a checkpoint in between. If you somehow switch characters between testing from the start and from the checkpoint, then you would have a no way to beat it ever level!
You can get the highest score faster if you give the character the mega mushroom, a spiked hat, 2 goombas above the hat and rings of boos. You can get more points in one go so it’s faster. I’m surprised you didn’t mention this as you talked about it in the first video for this.

actually, in my setup I replace 4 shells and 4 springs with a single bomb and muncher... thus getting 12 more entity slots. (0RY-FFK-DGF)

Hi Ceave great video I reacently watched your whats the lowest score possible score in New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe video.In 1-2 before the pipe you can jump on Luigi so about 5 blocks away theres a non wall or secret wall well roof that you can use to get to the secret exit.😁
