    I just replaced the cylinder head gasket on my 1995 cummins. I was amazed how little carbon buildup there was on the head and upper cylinder with 283k miles. Always added about 1/4 can of seafoam to a tank fill of around 30gal. Good stuff. No snake oil here.

    I use Seafoam in my small engines to clean lifters and carbon from intakes and pistons. The real deal was adding to the oil in my 1.8T Passat. It cleaned the engine valve train so well, I was amazed. Read how to do it on a VW Forum and it really cleaned the internals. These engines were notorious for coking the oil due to high turbo temps. It's a great product, also cleans carburetors incredibly well.

      200,000 mi is the aprox. useful life of a HEUI injector.
      Regardless of the most meticulous maintenance and filtration their performwncr drops of exponentially.

    Ok, 2002 F450 diesel 280,000 miles. This thing was smoking embarrassingly, to the point of not wanting to drive it. It was definitely unburnt fuel. I have regularly used Power Service but to no avail it started smoking like a chimney. I followed the directions for this 'hot' treatment, let it soak an extra 5 minutes because that is how bad it was. I was blown away by the instant results. I will be using this in my vehicles just as preventive maintenance. It took care of my issue instantly. Great product and thanks!

      +Paul Fitzpatrick Hi Paul
      Thanks for sharing your experience and glad you figured it out! When it comes to real world outcomes, high concentrations of straight Sea Foam through primary diesel fuel filters and full cans of Sea Foam Spray (for gasoline intakes only) through gasoline throttle bodies are working through injectors (diesel) and chambers at fuel mix ratios of up to 50 percent (gas) to running on straight Sea Foam (diesel). Flat out, the petroleum solvency/dosage effect is considerably greater than tank additive mix ratios. Tank approaches are important and great for cleaner fuel system maintenance, but serious cleaning results require a real world cleaning approach.
      Remember that Sea Foam is made from petroleum so always safe, can never add too much to diesel fuel...So, can clean and lubricate your injectors and chambers as often as you think you need to!
      Watch for our new videos on "How Engines Work" where we show how soft, unburned hydrocarbon residues form...Stay tuned!

It wasn't a new filter, as I just changed the filter 50 miles ago, and I suppose a new filter would soak up a good bit of additive. Fingers crossed that I notice a difference. (99' F350 500k + mi)

    Ok, So I purchased a 2006 F-350 about four months ago. Ran perfect, then I noticed I was getting some stiction, and loss of power while driving the truck. During daily drives the truck struggles to gain power and skips. I've used a few diesel fuel additives over the past few weeks with no results. So now that I'v seen this video, I'm going to give this a try before I decide to send it into the shop for new injectors. The reviews I'v read, several have said its saved them thousands not needing to replace injectors after used of Sea Foam. Picked up a bottle of Sea Foam today. Update to come!

    • @SeaFoamOfficial
      @SeaFoamOfficial  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Matt: Injector stiction happens on the oil side, so add 1.5 ounces of Sea Foam Motor Treatment for each quart of oil in your Ford's crankcase. All right, I'm a believer. I did an injector hot soak on a 99' F350 7.3 ZF6 (over 500k mi.) this afternoon. I was experiencing somewhat of a 'choppy' vibration at higher RPM's or high idle revs. Also, it seemed sluggish at WOT. It did not cure this issue 100%, but my injectors are fairly old and the truck was sitting for over 2 years awaiting a tranny rebuild. There was however a noticeable difference. The truck seems livelier, and the idle seems much smoother. I followed the directions supplied in this video by Sea Foam Official to a 'T'. Only issue I ran into, was discovering a fuel bowl O-ring leak (totally unrelated to the hot soak), which I suppose is a good thing to find it sooner than later (and luckily I have a fuel bowl refresh kit on hand)... It's been a long journey bringing back this 7.3 to its former glory after a long life on the road as a heavy haul commercial fleet truck. Sea Foam hot soaks will definitely be part of my regular maintenance routine going forward.

    I would think two minutes would be a little too long to run to get in the injectors. Like my 6.9 and 7.3 engines runs a lot of bypass or return fuel to the tank. I'd think maybe 30 seconds or so would be more than enough. Maybe take the lines loose and hand pump the Seafoam into the filter , that way one would be sure to get the benefit of the product.

    • @SeaFoamOfficial
      @SeaFoamOfficial  7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Phil: anywhere from :30 to 2 minutes would work fine. Either way, straight Sea Foam is able to pass through the injectors and into the chambers, which is a considerably higher cleaning concentration than mixed in fuel.

    Seafoam works great for cleaning deposits and fuel stabilization. I run it in all my gasoline engines and they start reliably when needed. However it is a emulsifier (suspends water in the fuel) so if you have a diesel with the water separator drain, it might not be the best choice to run in the tank all the time.

    I have a 2001 F-350 7.3 and if I don't plug it up at night, it has a hard time turning on in the mornings, even in the summer time, once it heats up it runs normal. Yesterday it was blowing white smoke during acceleration, it would bog down and instead of accelerating it starts to blow white smoke. I bought the big bottle (64oz.) of Howe's diesel treat and poured about 2/3 into an almost full tank (approx. 20 gallons), and nothing changed. That same day I tried the seafoam procedure that is on this video. The truck was warmed up, I replaced the fuel filter and filled the chamber with sea foam, turned it on for 2 mins. Then turned it off for 15 mins, and when I took it for the 30 min. ride to clean the hydro carbons; I only made it down the street and the truck turned off and doesn't want to turn on again. I removed all the contents from the fuel filter chamber and filled it up with diesel fuel and still doesn't want to start. I think a few of my injectors were bad and that's why it needs to be completely warmed up to run normal. But the white smoke only when accelerating was a new problem that just started yesterday. Any suggestions?

    • @SeaFoamOfficial
      @SeaFoamOfficial  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      White exhaust smoke at start up can mean there's not enough heat to burn the diesel fuel properly, which can have to do with cranking speed or motor oil that's too heavy...bad solenoid??/ If white smoke shows while driving can be injector/s or injector timing, worn injector pump or air leak... Let us know what happens.
