Tips from someone who actually had about 3 in of growth in a month:
-If you arent washing your hair, don't get it wet. When you get your head wet without washing your hair, you're waterlogging your follicles. This causes your natural oils to overproduce.
-Try washing your hair the Victorian way at least once a month. One egg + 1 cup lemon juice, rinse it with cold water. You'll feel gross while it's still wet, but your hair will be softer and shinier than it ever has before. This is especially helpful with heat and dye damaged hair (I have bleached hair).
-Don't condition all the way to the roots. Only condition from about the middle to the tips, then comb through it. Conditioner clogs your follicles.
-Comb your hair twice a day with a wide toothed comb. Comb it once in the morning and once at night. Invest in a boar hair brush to brush through after the tangles are out.
-Braid it. I know it sounds a little counterintuitive considering what you've learned in the video, but absolutely braid your hair at night. Do a loose plait or two to keep your hair from tangling. Learn to tie the braid with ribbon to avoid hair ties.
-Be patient. 3 inches sounds like a lot of growth, and it is, but it doesn't happen overnight. If you get frustrated, remember that it's a lot faster to cut hair off than it is to grow it out. If you're in that much of a hurry, wear a wig until you're happy with your growth.

I cut my hair two months ago so I could start new (because new job new me) and I’ve been wanting my hair to grow to my hips so bad but it ends up dead before I can even get there and I rarely use heat :( I also have naturally oily hair so my scalp needs to be washed every two days otherwise it’ll look like an oily dandruff mess

@@niisrine6058 Don't worry it'll grow fast in the beginning (not much just the front and back a bit but it depends) but then it'll start growing really slow again. I don't go outside so I don't have to worry about people seeing my hair but try and covering it until it grows a bit more so you can properly cut it again- also if your parents (If you have them or still live with them) don't know you cut it or dont want you to cut it again tell then it needs to be equal to grow normal again and they'll most likely let you go to a hairstylist :)

2) cutting hair every month doesn’t make it grow faster;
3) USE natural shampoos and conditions (sulphates free)

6) avoid heat
7) don’t keep your hair super tight with hair tie or anything

-dont wash your hair all the time (the oils your hair produce helps it grow)
-use dry shampoo (natural ingredient ofc)
-if you shampoo your hair make sure its made of natural ingredients (chemicals will damage your hair)
-dont brush your hair when it is wet (if you do use a wide-tooth comb)
-put coconut oil on your hair after you shower
-dont use heat on your hair (if you do make sure you use a heat protectant)
-dont trim your hair (a lot of people say this works but it doesn't)

The tips (to save your time) :
- take a shower everyday but dont wash ur hair everyday ( the oil that produces makes ur hair healthier but dont let it become too greasy ) dry shampoo helps ( wash ur hair depends on how it feels for u ) dont wash ur hair with sulfate chemicals / use natural shampoos with natural ingredients ( the less the better )
-dont brush ur hair when its still wet
- coconut oil to rub in the hair to promote hair growth like hair mask etc
-DO NOT USE HEAT ( u can but try not to use it everyday ) or use a heat protector everytime u do want to use heat on ur hair
-regular trim every month isn’t necessary at all because ur hair grow from the root not the bottom
-dont put your hair up as soon as u get out of the shower . Try to stay away from hair ties ( dont tie ur hair too much ) dont tie ur hair too tight / soft scrunchies helps / dont sleep with tied hair

as a cosmetology student i do understand why it is beneficial to get trims. if your hair isn’t damaged then that’s okay to let your hair just grow however if you notice your hair starting to get split ends and be damaged, it’s beneficial to get trims every few months even while trying to grow your hair because although it might take longer for it to grow that way, it’ll be better for your hair in the long run because split ends can ride all the way up your hair shaft and make your hair more dead than it already is and you’ll have to cut your hair even shorter if you want it to look and feel healthy while also being long. hope this helps!

Dry shampoo is not the answer. Dry shampoo not only clogs the hair follicles, but it also creates buildup on your head that does not allow your hair to grow.
Exactly. I have really oily hair by default and I’ve tried not washing it and I’ve learnt that naturally it gets greasy within a day and a half. I used to use dry shampoo to fix it but it made my scalp super dry and flat and made it look like I had dandruff. I’ve learnt the best way is to just wash my hair everyday and it’s a lot healthier now because I’m using the right products

How to grow hair faster
1. Wash hair once a week
2. Get and use good dry shampoo
3. DON’T use sulfate shampoo products
4. Have as little ingredients on it as you can (shampoo and conditioner)
5. Natural based s&c are the best
6. Get a wide tooth comb for right after the shower
7. With wide tooth comb start at the bottom and go up (take your time)
8. Coconut oil for the ends of your hair
9. Whenever it one of the last days and your going to shower the next day to a “mask” (coconut oil all over hair)

11. After a shower don’t put hair up (unless its a scrunchie)

Sometime not washing hair enough for oiler hair causes scalp folliculitis, leading to blocked hair folicles (like scalp pimples) which makes hair fall out. So depends on hair type for how long you wash it

If you have dandruff you probably have a really dry scalp I think you should try putting an oil in your scalp like coconut oil or Castor oil these also help grow your hair * FYI if your going to use castor oil make sure that it has another scent in it like lavender because the regular castor oil stinkssss

coconut oil is not good for every hair type🦋🦋
For thinner hair I wouldn’t use it because it just sits there and doesn’t benefit your hair at all but with thicker hair it actually sinks into the strands and helps them.
My hair is thick and coconut oil completely dries it out

For anyone here in 2024 and still reading this…. Yes duh don’t wash every day but you CAN’T “train” your scalp to not get dirty. The most you can do is clean your scalp/shampoo correctly. Sulfates are okay if you don’t have any color… wash your scalp twice…. I personally do not like to go more than 3-4 days between washes.

I’m a stylist and trimming your split ends is gonna make your hair look thicker 😂it’s not gonna make your hair grow. But if your hair looks thin from the ends you have to trim it.

Trimming every couple months helps manage split ends that are 1 of the hair's worst enemies.
it does because the ends are usually dead ends and it prevents ur hair growing as fast because the dead ends are stuck at the bottom so getting round half an inch cut off every other month or every month. it will help. use are just stupid because it does make sense to cut it, by the looks of it when she said she cut it every month she clearly got it chopped every month since it’s short but she doesn’t realise it only needs to be cut like half an inch (not a month) every other month or something so i’m right your wrong, i know this cos it works because i’ve been doing it for yearsz so shutup x🤣
*How to grow hair* (8)
*1. Oil*
Coconut, castor, argan and jojoba promote hair growth. You can apply them straight to your hair, make masks and mix them together to customize your own oil with what works for you
*2. Sulfate and paraben free shampoo and conditioner*
Sulfates are found in cleaning products and it strips out the sebum the hair needs in order to grow, parabens are just as bad
*3. Wash hair 2 to 3 times a week*
The more you wash it, the more you dry it off. As shampoo strips out the sebum, wash only the scalp with drops of shampoo but don't go without washing hair for more than a week because too much sebum can clog the pores in the scalp
*4. Dry shampoo*
If pesky greasy hair bothers you and looks awful use dry shampoo, it doesn't offer any benefits for your hair nor removes the grease, just absorbs it to hide it
*5. Wide tooth comb*
Regular brushes yankes off hair and rips off thin hair like mine. Wide tooth combs offer more control
*6. Trimming doesn't make your hair grow*
Trimming and cutting only prevents split ends. But if it's bad than you have no other choice than to cut it because it will only keep thinning
*7. No heat, no chlorine*
If your hair is weak and damaged avoid these. At least use heat protectant or oil before heat or going to a pool

I use biotin, keratin,and rosewater. I swear my hair grows 2 inches every month. And it's really getting thicker. I also bleach my roots every month. My natural hair color is dirty blonde,but I like to keep it platinum. It's awesome that now I can have bleach blonde hair,and it still be healthy. Wish I would have started this years ago!!! try using rice water, my dumb self cut it a year ago and managed to grow it out quickly. i ended up being able to get my fringe cut properly by a hair dresser very quickly

I'm trying these tips for a month, starting July 1, 2020. I've got sort of a pixie cut so it's barely past my ears at the bottom and slicks back at the top. I'll update at the end of the month👌
(Edit: I've started updating at the end of every month until it's at it's desired length so come back on the first of every month to hear about progress!)
Update 1: My hair it's starting to go down at the top rather than stick up or slick back like usual. Also, the first week I went without washing my hair it was really itchy. Now it feels normal, and really soft when there is no coconut oil in it.
Update 2: It's been a month and a grew an inch or two:) it doesn't stick up anymore, it slicks back because it grew out more, and I even have to brush it now. I'm going to continue this routine, and may possibly update after another month.
Update 3: Happy spooky month everybody, it's October! My hair is now only 2 or 3 inches away from my shoulders without pulling down! My curls are starting to come back and they're just great, I missed them a lot. If you have questions feel free to ask me! All of these tips are informative and useful, but if you’re lazy and cheap like me, avoid heat, too many showers (for your hair) and wait a couple years/months (depending on how long you want your hair). You want long hair, wait a little for it to grow :)
