Nice video. I use a baitcaster for snakes myself, but I have a good friend that only uses a spinning reel and he catches monsters with no issues at all. Use whatever you feel comfortable fishing with.

Is this at the library parking lot it looks familiar?? Good video btw. I started fishing for snakes in blackwater late August and managed to catch a couple but they were all on live minnows. I'm still new to lure fishing but hopefully when it heats up I'll land some big ones since I've noticed the bigger ones come on lures. I caught 2 on live minnows Christmas eve before the storm and started tried a mepps agila and chattrrbait but I got no hits. I'll definitely be trying the swim baits you mentioned soon!
I live in Florida and mostly targets snakehead with frogs if you have a 7”4 heavy rod an 65 pound braid you won’t have any problems setting the hook on a big snake

When using braid to fish for snakehead should I use a mono leader or does it not matter?
I would go straight braid. Don’t want to get cut off
