- This video illustrates how to add Refrigerant to the Air Conditioning System on a 2007 VW Jetta Equipped with a 2.5 L Gasoline Engine using DIY Products that can be purchased at a local auto parts store. These steps can be used as a general guideline when adding Refrigerant to all other VW MK5's like Golf, GTI, Cabrio etc.

Thank you brother I typed in how to put refrigerant in a 2.5 V wagon rabbit 2007 and it took me on a journey and then I finally found your page common sense thank you I appreciate it
Great video...answered all of my questions. Thanks for making this and sharing with all of us! Same configuration for my 2011 TDI Sportwagen.
Man what a good video. Stayed on point. Straight to the point. Step by Step.
Your video was spot on. Thanks for good advice and clear instruction.
Very good information and well demonstrated.
Well done. Very informative, easy to follow steps. Nice job.
Very well done D-I-Y video. My A/C is recharged now. Good one at the end about having to wear a jacket inside the car. Ha ha! 😀
Good video. Not too long, not too short.
Couldn't have gotten a better diy video. Thank you for every detail as every bit of your information was helpful👍

Bravo! Easy - Peasy.
Thanks for the tip
Thank you!
Awesome!!!
thanks!
Gonna try this on my 06 TDI Jetta.
WOW!!! COOL!!!
Thank you 💪🏿
Nice, I don't think anyone else explains the potential for the pressure to go up and down, as the compressor cycles on and off. How likely is that to happen on an MK5 Jetta?
Thank u bro
Wow, that was a few years ago! :-) Do they all come self-sealing today, in 2022?
Thank you for video
I did this and filled it to green. Still blowing hot air. I’m glad I at least tried it. Unfortunately looks like I’ll be spending $$$.
Do you need to shake the can ?
I replaced my condenser....how much oil does it need? I have an 08 VW rabbit
Hi, thanks for sharing. Just replaced the AC control valve in my 2006 Jetta, charged up the freon; Nothing, same crap, just blows ambient air. AC fan does NOT kick on w/ the switch. Do I need to bypass the high pressure switch? Had to on a friend's car to get it to start working. How do I bypass the high pressure switch? Inspected connector at high press switch, looks fine. Any idea/s much appreciated. - thanks man, take care.
Did you figure it out?
I did change the Compressor and I did recharge my ac as you explained but was so fast showing high Pressure and still nothing cold only hot air coming any advice pls
May have over did the Freon. Too much damages things ??
Tried this in my 2.5 and the pressure showed perfect. It takes several minutes for my AC to get cool still. Any other issues that could be causing this?
Kyle Dickerson your compressor is probably starting to fail
Kyle Dickerson if your ac takes time to cool, it could be the ac compressor control valve. Don't let anyone tell you you need to replace the compressor unless you know 100% it is gone. My car is doing the same thing I have an mk5. My compressor is fine coolant is good, no leaks. Dealer wants to put an new compressor when it's just a valve. Go on TH-cam and look it up. Good luck.
Filter maybe
My jetta during the day has a very hard time cooling up but during the night it cools up, what do you think the problem might be?
Freddy Medina compressor failing, probably need replacement
low refrigerant
Will this method work on a 2006 2.0T VW Passat?
Alma Scott I have a 2006 2.0T VW Passat, and my AC goes out every year! do you have this problem too? I have brought it to two dealerships and they keep replacing hoses/refilling eating up my money..
Lowell Abraham yes i have the same problem. Its cool for about 24hrs then it comes out hot afterwards
Have you checked if your Radiator Fans spins when you turn on the A/C?
Nope why +Lowell Abraham
Alma Scott I have found that if the radiator fans don't run intermittently, your A/C will not blow cold air. If they aren't running there won't be enough air flowing over the condenser fins to allow the system to cool.
Thank you!
