In this video we are going to show you how to refill recharge the A/C System on a VW Golf MK5 and Jetta mk5. We demonstrated on a 2006 VW Jetta TDI however it will be very close procedure to recharge the air conditioner on a gas engine as well, the difference will be the a/c capacity which could be found on the bottom side of the hood. Depending on the model and the year some vehicles might have different capacity so check yours.

So many tutorials dont clarify the fact that when you put the can ON the port, the car needs to be off, and THEN start the car, and THEN the pressure will read correctly. If the right order isnt done, the pressure will read high and then people will think the pressure is high and take it to the shop.

Hello....I have a 2003 VW Passat and need to recharge my AC. I have a cowling cover all around the top of the engine so I am unsure where my AC port is...can you please help me with this????? I have no AC blowing cold air.....I am just getting outside air or residual AC air that is not cool enough for these hot summer days now. Any help would be great appreciated.

Where are common areas to look for leaks? My sons A/C has absolutely no temperature drop so I will be adding refrigerant and want to check for leaks while I'm doing it.
I need some help. I have 2008 skoda Octavia and the AC is blowing cold air but still it is not able to cool the car on a hot sunny day while during the night or during rains the AC is working a little better but still not chilling . Do I need to add freon or is the problem something else??
Freon problem! VW takes 18oz of Freon! In this video he only has a 12oz can.

I don’t get how the hose connects to the nozzle. Is it supposed to be pressed down or just placed on top ?
it should click on. some hoses have a quick release ring you have to pull back as you put the hose on the nozzle . if you've done it wrong it won't stay on when you wiggle or pull it and you may hear gas leakage. if it's right it will stay on the nozzle and there will be no leaking sound
how do i know if i just need to add some refrigerant ? cause my TDi jetta during the day the ac does not cool up but during the night it does?
I have the same problem I'm about to try this, I assume yes. I think my system just has a little refrigerant left so it can't compete with the sun

@@freddymedina7430 I wouldn't worry about too much - as you can see in the video, AC rechargers have a pressure gauge, so you can see where it is as soon as you connect the line.
You didn’t say witch port to connect the Freon tube to. There’s two ports on ma Passat!
It’s the high port! Closer to the windshield cleaner reservoir.

Don't do it this way you need to vacuum the system before adding the refrigerant.
I love how when you disconnect the first can from the hose as it purges into the atmosphere he just pans to the right like this isn't happening this is not crime.....

This is not true. VW has the A/C pressure sensor on the radiator hose, when the system is empty your A/C will have a code for HVAC. If you don’t delete that code your A/C will still blow hot air. Do not try this.. it will mess up your compressor.
