    Hi Dave: Another great video. I really liked seeing and understanding your approach to editing this image via TK8. I certainly have a number of images that will benefit from the techniques that you have utilized in this composition. Admittedly, I may have to watch this video several times to get a firm grasp of the concepts. But to me, that is the best part of your teaching style. Cheers, Keith

    Dave - every one of these you do is better than the previous ones. But you have set the bar pretty high with this video. Tons of new things to learn especially the way you use the mask calculator and the intersect option. Well worth viewing this one more than once and taking copious notes while following along.

    Hi Dave, Man that was amazing! I've been using the calculator on some of my images and sometimes I fumble a bit thinking that something in my edit can't be done. You've proved me wrong. This video gave me more confidence to just experiment and try something following my gut feeling. To my surprise, things come out right! The calculator tool alone is worth the price of admission in my view. The TK8 panel and the educational videos are amazing.

    Hello Dave, I have viewed this fantastic tutorial several more times, and I’ve gotten something new out of it each time. I’m fairly proficient with Photoshop, and I’m becoming more confident with the TK8 panel and the incredible power of the various masks it can create. However, after having just watched the video again, it’s even clearer to me that my editing Achilles’ heel is the analysis of the trouble spots, such as what you did with the 7-item list at the beginning of the video. I don’t recall seeing any tutorials on how to analyze an image like that. The glaring ones are obvious, but I often overlook the subtle difference makers. Is that something that’s just innate, or can it be learned? If it’s the latter, do you have any tutorials on that, or know of any?

      @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I will have to work on that. I haven't done much work lately with portraits so I will need to brush up on it. The Frequency Separation action will definitely come in handy with portraits, but I find you can use it on all types of photography.

    Sorry Dave, but I’m struck by the incongruity of the warm colors of the mountain and foreground, but the cold colorless sky! By that, I mean, where do these warm “golden hour” colors come from? Certainly not from that cloudy sky.
    Bottom line: you have a total mis-match in the coloration and warmth between the sky and the land. This sky needs to be replaced by one that’s at least semi-realistic.
