The fact you are not disrespectful to those that bought a fake means a lot. Total class company, I'm sure glad mine a real, I support American labor and manufacturing and get a quality product I can be proud to own.
You guys make some awesome knives. Recently purchased the utx 70 in blue with the black double sided blade, fell in love with it, but i still didnt feel... satisfied? So i purchased the dirac delta, black, with the stonewashed blade full serration... i feel satisfied now! I have 2 really bad habits, expensive knives, thanks to microtech... which is my new habit, and stacking precious metals... both very expensive hobbies. I only purchase through reputable dealers. Got my dirac from DLT Trading, Very happy with them, and blade HQ for my utx 70. I was originally torn between the dirac, and the dirac delta. I wanted something full size, and the delta fit that category for me. Its my new EDC, and i absolutely love it! Thanks Microtech! Im very much a supporter of American made products, and i am happy and willing to pay a premium for it! No cheap chinese junk in this household!
I got my UMS Ultratech today. I love it and I love that it’s only available directly from Microtech Knives which eases my mind about it’s authenticity.
‘’Why does anyone want to spend there hard earned money on this overseas junk. Love my Microtechs all 12 of them..On the BH I’m glad mine is not beat up as bad as yours is lol . thanks for sharing your videos. Great job. Prayers to you and your family and Microtech family. God Bless
Because most people can afford $30 or $40 or hell even $100, rather than $400 and no I'm not saying anyone should ever buy copies of anything for the most part. But thats why. Nobody really wants to pay $1,000 for a pocket knife isc who you are. And that's a HUGE price margin for microtech. Even if they built each piece by hand.
@@bernhard8540the 1k knives are MARFIONE CUSTOMS and those aren't really tools but pieces of art, that aren't really meant to be used for work. A good microtech knife is around 400$ Which is still a lot don't get me wrong, but for that price you're indeed getting what you're paying for.
I just bought a Microtech Ultratech black/stone wash s/e drop point..121-10 . I'm definitely not a knife fighter...so I didn't feel I needed a d/e fully serrated dagger.I bought this piece primarily as a utility knife...maybe a steak or two.. Can't wait for it to get here. From every thing I've read and all of the videos I've see over the past few months of laborious research into this new world of otf knife collecting...I'm sure this knife will serve me for the rest of my lifetime. I'm 58 years old right now...and I'm absolutely sure...it's gonna out last me. I did however discover the seedy underbelly of the dark web counterfeiters. I bought my very first Authentic Microtech Ultratech…I bought from a authorized dealer, from Microtechs website. I have a “Brunt Orange” with all black hardware and D/E blade…I have been collecting automatic knifes for over two years now…I understand if you want a American made auto knife your immediately in the $200.00 plus dollar price range. Could you guys do an update on this series? I've been seeing a lot of improved counterfeits that I think could still really fool a lot of people. For example, the fake Combat Troodons are getting much better in terms of anodization & milling accuracy. Same with the Ultratechs, which are getting better regarding machining quality & overall knife size. For some reason, though, it seems they invariably still make the screws too small. Upon opening, the locks haven't gotten much better, but I have seen some exceptions where the locks are well done. The laser engraving still seems to be too aggressive, too, even with the other improvements. I had bought clones in the past, but even without any hard use I kept running into problems such as misfiring & rattling. They're also never adequately sharp out of the box. Since buying my first Ultratech, I've been unbelievably glad I decided to go with genuine quality. When handing a real Microtech there's just no comparison to the lousy clones when experiencing the premium materials & craftsmanship. Of course they're much more expensive, but it's easy to understand that your products are unquestionably worth the additional price. Anyone who is buying clones because you think you can't afford a genuine Microtech, I advise you to save your money for a real one. One true Microtech is worth so much more than a fitful of disappointing, unreliable knockoffs. It may take time & some financial prowess, but it'll be worth it in the end. You can also often buy on the secondary market to avoid paying full retail. Great video & keep up the great work, guys! 😃
I recently bought the same Combat Trodoon counterfeit from Amazon and the weight difference is indeed the most obvious factor, it also missfires sometimes but I don't see it as a total loss as it made me even more appreciate the original product

I bought a red hellhound troodon with bronze from blade hq and I tried to register it on Microtech website they asked for the sku. There’s a barcode on my package but I don’t see the sku? Kinda confused
Huge fanboy here. I wanted a Microtech knife ever since I first saw a Navy Scarab online on TH-cam, back in 2007 (and a Halo back in 2001 watching season 1 of "24"). Question @Microtech Knives, I am fascinated that you started basically just randomly breaking the counterfeit knives. So I am wondering, can you just do that? Chances are I am going to answer my own question; 1) are you simply legally able to, since you are the real proprietor of the bonafide brand, consquently meaning any fake examplars are then simply yours to break or discard, without any legal rights of the owners, since they are sponsoring the counterfeit industry? If so, do you inform the customer you are about to discard their fake knife? Or 2) it is not so superlegal, but are customers then upset when you simply discard or destroy their fake knives? If so, do they ask for their knives back?
When a customer sends a counterfeit knife that they believed to be authentic in for warranty/service, we notify them and they can choose whether to have it sent back or discarded (such as the knives we used in this video). If they do want the knife back, we laser over any Microtech logos, symbols, or branding.
That one clone did pretty good. It bent but still worked. Could definitely be an everyday beater knife. I don't think I would use my Micro tech for general chores.
Bro that clone worked after the blade bent. Microtechs are super sensitive and I bent the blade would derail if it was bent like that lol. Great video and I love these guys tho.
Not be rude but I've seen my fair share of microtechs fail trying to open as well. There's actually videos where by accident while trying to show the difference between microtech and a cheap version the microtech failed to launch open properly so I get it and yes most of the clones are way cheaper built for sure I definitely agree there :) ❤

Hopefully no one needs to warranty their knife in 12 years or so. I have a 2008 Ultratech, I called asking about paying them to replace the blade and broken main spring. Sadly I just bought my first Microtech and the top lock assembly keeps locking out and making it impossible to fire without sending a skinny object to push it back. Really disappointed as I have bought cheap Otf knives and while they haven’t lasted for shit they for sure never gave me that problem especially within the first 24 hrs after buying it brand new. And yes it’s a real one or at least it better be since I drove 3 hrs to get from authorized dealer. Never buying a Microtech again

YOUR KNIFES ARE AMAZING, YES, MAKE THEM AFFORDABLE FOR THE AVERAGE CONSUMER CAN AFFORD IF. You might not admit it but you know I’m telling the truth, the average middle-class working guy is not going to spend 400 300 on a knife, take it to work. I have that kind of money to spend, but I’m still not gonna spend it on a pocket knife. I don’t care where it’s made. That’s where microtech\zero tolerance\bench made it’s not understanding. Make them affordable, the clones would not stand a chance.
All companies should learn from this videos and do fake/clone comparisons with their own products not only since it’s coming from the source it self you trust that you have a legit product in faster but it’s good advertising
Got one the other day as a gift, shipped by Amazon. Screws and button indicates it is probably real. Won't properly extend or retract. Will have to contact the company.
Just got my first combat troodon in today. Was so excited! After I deployed the blade for the first time the spring broke! Just sent it back hoping my “second” combat troodon lasts longer than 3 seconds!
Update: got my replacement back about a week after I returned to Smokey Mountain Knife Works. Their customer service was great btw! No issues so far. Must have been a fluke.
Hey guys I want to pick up one of your knives but I’m very suspicious of in person stores can y’all confirm if knivesplus located at southwestern street Amarillo Texas 79109 is a licensed retailer of your knives? I’d really appreciate it
The blade steel is getting better on the clones so you really need to check with microtefh before purchasing because ice seen dhgate sellers even start using m390 and it was tested in a lab after purchase for entertainment purposes and it's a good blade but the actual mechanisms on the inside were inferior. You really need to be careful buying any products these days. Heck I've seen clones of my Samsung earbuds lol they will copy anything they can get their hands on
Yea but for everyday use i just cant justify paying 700$ for a knife to open boxes or cutting soft material when i could get a clone for 50$ that will do the same thing. Nobody is going to be stabbing into wood and bending the tip to break their knife. And Chinese clones are getting better and better every year, they are mostly all cnc machined now and have really good fit and finish 👌
I’ve got 3 clones that cost me about $60 Canadian each and to be honest for what I use them for there great knives.going on 3 years and they all still work great if I happen to lose or it breaks no big deal, but $500 us which is $750 Canadian nah ain’t buying a real one can’t justify paying that amount of $$$$
I wouldn’t use any knife anyway near your testing especially yours or BM any way unfortunately I have all of the clones because I let myself get ripped off by trading a 12 gauge for a supposedly legit Benchmade phaeton and then I went on an educational buying spree after seeing the place that most of the junk comes from. Now my collection has representations of pieces I could never afford. I’m not out trying to rip someone off by selling either. Buyer beware and educate yourself before you spend.
It sounds like he's trying so hard to find problems. Still not worth the 400 extra microtech charges. You can get these clones for like 20 bucks. You can go through tons of them before you even approach the price point of real microtech.
Exactly, with a $40 dollar clone who cares if you lose it or breaks, with these times I can’t justify spending $500 us on a knife that I’ll use to cut fruit or open a box
Pro tip, stop saying this is what you are paying for..... It comes off as douchey af, second two types of people buy clones 1st people that got fucked, meaning they paid a premium for junk, 2nd people that went for a clone and they are not willing to pay for top shelf stuff... So you can leave out the this is what you are paying for bullshit....
The fact you are not disrespectful to those that bought a fake means a lot. Total class company, I'm sure glad mine a real, I support American labor and manufacturing and get a quality product I can be proud to own.

The bounty hunter doesn’t come with the serial number?
You all know Amazon got clones of your Halo in their inventory? They appear to be the ones made by Vespa/China.
Just got my first combat troodon in today. Was so excited! After I deployed the blade for the first time the spring broke! Just sent it back hoping my “second” combat troodon lasts longer than 3 seconds!
Wow
Update: got my replacement back about a week after I returned to Smokey Mountain Knife Works. Their customer service was great btw! No issues so far. Must have been a fluke.
There are some super high end fakes that are almost identical
Hey guys I want to pick up one of your knives but I’m very suspicious of in person stores can y’all confirm if knivesplus located at southwestern street Amarillo Texas 79109 is a licensed retailer of your knives? I’d really appreciate it
All you have to do is go online and search for authorized Microtech dealers near you and it'll show you.
Heck I've seen clones of my Samsung earbuds lol they will copy anything they can get their hands on
There’s an ad for fake microtech knives within TH-cam while I was watching this video. I’m totally taking a screenshot. That’s so messed up.
Dude what if people want one but can't buy the real one
Yea but for everyday use i just cant justify paying 700$ for a knife to open boxes or cutting soft material when i could get a clone for 50$ that will do the same thing. Nobody is going to be stabbing into wood and bending the tip to break their knife. And Chinese clones are getting better and better every year, they are mostly all cnc machined now and have really good fit and finish 👌
I’ve got 3 clones that cost me about $60 Canadian each and to be honest for what I use them for there great knives.going on 3 years and they all still work great if I happen to lose or it breaks no big deal, but $500 us which is $750 Canadian nah ain’t buying a real one can’t justify paying that amount of $$$$
What happens if you send Microtech a clone to repair? Do they just keep it so it’s off the market or do they give you store credit or something lol
Exactly
Dude you beat that little knife into oblivion with a hammer than called it a cheap piece of junk when it broke.
That guy was trying real hard not to say 8cr13mov.
Hit like first, watch video later
Are y’all sorta ripping off Star Wars with the bounty hunter and Jedi stuff?
Thanks, someone was trying to sell me a fake
I guess u guys dont send the customer there fakes back?
Man I have a Lightning OTF with nicer internals than that clone.
If you spend less than $100 on a "Microtech" knife ... in any condition .... it's probably fake. Or the seller had no idea what they had.
The clones being perfectly functioning is a strong couple of words 😂
He never did a stab test with the real knife.
That steel probably wasn't even close to being 3cr, 8cr or 440 cause that broke waaasky to too easy lol
You guys don’t send these knives back to their owner. It’s not their fault they didn’t know
68025
Lmfao they use lead 🤣 😂 💀👍
Whos gonna do this kind of stuff with a $400+ knife?.....NO ONE!.....
Exactly, with a $40 dollar clone who cares if you lose it or breaks, with these times I can’t justify spending $500 us on a knife that I’ll use to cut fruit or open a box
im about to buy mine. but you need to go to a Real Knife shop. not a kive store in the mall......
Yea but these knives areb40 dollar knives scampered to 200 and even more for a microtech..lol
No pressure??? Hahaha
It's one thing to make something similar but man to completely bite some ones ideas is messed up. This shit shouldn't be leagal
That is hilarious our authentic micros weigh HALF as much yet are MANY MANY times stronger/sturdier than their junk copies 🤣😂🤷♂️🤦♂️
Watching some1 use a knife that way makes me cringe so hard!!!
Maybe you can spend some time manufacturing so we can find the knives.
And stop with the daggers
Great stabbers
Pro tip, stop saying this is what you are paying for..... It comes off as douchey af, second two types of people buy clones 1st people that got fucked, meaning they paid a premium for junk, 2nd people that went for a clone and they are not willing to pay for top shelf stuff... So you can leave out the this is what you are paying for bullshit....
Lol did I just buy a clone from wish?
Yes
It’s wish... what do you expect
