Hi there, I'm 38, three weeks ago I could not swim but after watching your videos, I got very comfortable in water and now I can swim and have overcome my fear of water, I still have to learn many techniques but thank you 🙂
I’m a swim instructor myself and sometimes, beginner older teens are scheduled with me. Usually I see toddlers and young kids, so I watch these to help me speak more efficiently with my older students. Very helpful!!
I taught myself how to swim and it was harddddd. The breakthrough came when l learned to float. That's the key. Learn to float first on back then face down. Then swimming is easy!
ashsqx324 What? You literally just breathe in and lay on your back. How can it possibly take longer than a minute to grasp? Am i being r/whooooshed here?
im an adult and i basically learnt swimming in 4 weeks (breaststroke & water treading) all by myself just by going to the pool once every week and watching youtube tutorials to correct my mistakes when im home. The first time i was able to swim 1 lap across the pool it felt absolutely incredible. I feel like i have an advantage as an adult as i basically have zero phobia of going into the deep ends since i'm tall enough and i know that i will be fine as long as i stay near to the edge of the pool so that i can grab onto it should anything happen. And yeah, one of the most important about swimming is that you'll have to stay relaxed and not be tensed when in the water. learning how to tread water first before learning the strokes was also helpful too.
I've ALWAYS said I can "swim well enough to save myself" Maybe a kid or CALM adult depending on water/conditions. I know this because I've had too. Granted it WAS NOT pretty. 😂😂😂 Do you remember any of the videos you watched? I'd really like to learn how. It'd help with my disabilities/recovery, etc Thank you
Thanks Alot.... I was very embarrassed about learning to swim with a trainer at my age 35 in front of all other pro swimmers ...i followed your every technique and practice each of them for weeks and now I can float and swim without support...i focused on your techniques and basics of foundation skills...I learn at 5 ft pool (For comment readers- please learn under surveillance of swimmers don't try alone)
Today is the 2nd day i learn to swim. And this video (and the other videos in this tutorial) helped me alot. At the 1st day, my teacher seems quite hopeless cause i kept drowning no matter how hard he try to helped. Thought i will never able to float. And then i went home, searched on youtube and saw this video. I've watched it 3 or 4 times to remember. And then today, i finally can float after just about 5 minutes go to the water. And my teacher said that it was a huge improvement. Thanks you guys alot for making these amazing videos.
never been near a pool since leaving junior school and 1st year senior, I'm 62 now (this is on my to do list) and have conquered my fear of deep water to an extent, your tutorials are working wonders for me so far I'm ok face in water eyes open blowing bubbles face down still having problems with blowing bubbles face up as water still enters my nasal passages but hay-ho Rome was not built in a day thanks to your excellent step by step tutorials

Also as a side note: I've taught for 14 years and can confirm it's much easier to teach someone who's a complete beginner and willing to learn the BASICS. It's so much harder to teach someone that has picked up bad habbits over the years.
I never usually comment on videos but I HAD to on this.... I was sat at my desk watching this vid with butterflies in my stomach thinking about going to the pool in an hour (I forced myself to book a pool slot because I'm trying to learn after years of not being able to swim) within an hour in the pool I was comfortably away from the walls and able to do short lengths of swimming! The whole thing is just getting comfortable with floating and having your face in the water, these exercises really really helped me! Thank you, great vid... There's hope for us all :')

I always new I needed to improve the breathing technique but it felt pointless because I was so exhausted in the water. This is an EXCELLENT Lesson. THANKS. 🙏

Thanks so much. I am very afraid of water and never learn how to swim when i was a child. Now I am 45, because of my backpain I have to learn swim and sure it is very difficult for me. First month, my private teacher only teach me how to make my self comfort in water. I still learn until now but has a little progress week to week. This video help me so much.
Just watched this. I usually play with a floater in water. Always thought it’s too late to learn to swim. I’m 26. Can’t wait to try what I just learnt out. Fingers crossed
I have learning classes and I am scared because I don't know how to swim. Now I know a little bit about it and also this is good. Have a nice day mate.
Loved the video. It was first day today and I don't know how much time it will take to learn. I did today star step with holding rails but buoy step is very hard to think. Its very tough to leave the fear of drowning. Kids learn very easily. Its like they are built for it.
Lol, I learned how to swim in about a month when I was 13 so I could make the swim team my crush was on, and I could swim better than some other people who have swam for years, then we moved to Florida, and I got hammered
Hi, I have just started to learn to swim and your videos are very helpful. I have learning and trying the drills advised in your videos but am unable float with ease.
Difference between a dude telling you some things and a real good Coach is the deep understanding and sense for the important little details. I learnt so many sports in my life and it was always the same. Most coaches are simply not good while being full of themselves. missing the most important details. And you only become mediocre with them. This guy here knows how to coach.
Evgeny Thank you so much for being so kind and start from true beginnings as getting comfortable in a water and not showing off so I will feel intimidated. Just getting back to proper swimming and happy to watch it now in bed :) after 500m of swimming. Thank you! ❤️ Cant wait to learn free style from you!
it's hard for me to relax in the water once I realized I'm not able to feel the bottom of the pool floor . I begin to panic. now I'm paralyzed on my left side from a massive stroke. I'm currently in physical therapy. but I'm really wanting to learn even though I'm 42. this is great instructions. you're very patient.i hope I can find a good swim instructor like you.
Tbh a mistake I always make is closing my eyes in water even though I can do it because I sometimes forget to open my eyes. I ended up starting to lose my breath and I realized I was 1 foot away from the side and then I end up feeling embarrassed. BRUH
The entire video! And series. I have a love/hate relationship with water. I LOVE it. I DO NOT love the feeling of instability/not being able to feel something; i NEED to know something is there in case I need it. That's the only way I know how to describe it. When I was little, it was the steps, the bar, or wall of the pool (or my mother. Lol) (NOT my oldest sister after one incident where I almost drowned in the lake!) even with my mom, when I was around the age of five, I still wanted to be somewhat close to the wall. but as I got older, I was able to venture out more; partially because I was getting taller. Lol. and now, once I get comfortable in the pool, lake, etc. I’m good. I like to lay out on floats, but I have to get on the float properly before I can let go of that “stable object“. as for the no goggles, absolutely cannot do that. Another thing about water that bothers me is my contacts are EXPENSIVE and without them, I legally am blind. I need them as safe as possible. I have noticed that I seem too be MORE comfortable in [some] open water than in a pool. ESPECIALLY if there are a good amount of people in the pool. Love the ocean. Though the waves weren't always nice, they DID always bring me back to shore!! Thank you for these videos. I'm going to find a place where I can practice!
Any advice for a struggling beginner? I try, but I panic so much in the water that I keep almost drowning in 3ft of water. 3ft!! It's ridiculous and my friend makes so much fun of me.... I really want to get better at swimming.
I’m going to get a pool up this weekend so I am watching these videos so I am able to actually swim in it and also so I can go on trips that involve swimming in it
My main issue is breathing. I feel like I am still breathing out when I turn my head for air. Then dont have time to take a breath in before my next stroke. Do I just need to slow it down and take full deliberate breaths instead about breathing every 2-3 strokes?
Same with me, I don’t have enough time and when I just turn my head, I go back to the water and accidentally do something with my nose that kind of feels like it is stinging and just feels hot and like it’s burning.
learnt swimming on first day. All thanks to you. I am an adult. Me and my partner both are non swimmer. Yesterday was my first day to learn swimming all by myself. I started swimming yesterday itself just by seeing your video in morning before going to swim. Such an informative video. Just need to follow the steps you have given. I did the step where you roll yourself like baby and float in water. After doing it few times I thought to give it a go for swimming and I could literally swim. Next week I will be following video 2 so that I can get control of breathing for doing longer laps. I could only swim shorter lap because did not see your next videos. I was not expecting my self to swim on first day. I can not say enough thanks to you. Thank you so so much.
Its great, but you haven't explained the most necessary things which is when we have to breeze or blow up the air and as well when we have such the air? Thanks

I've been struggling with the breathing. Will give this a try. Thanks!
I am watching this 1 day before my school swimming competition 2024
(Wish me luck)
Update: I got 2nd position 🎉🎉
I’m sooo happy I got into swimming and stayed on long enough to get to the third lane!!! Then I quit cause the water was too cold but-
Benign,my brother, your efforts are benign.

“Be a friend to the water don’t fight it”
Ohh so that’s what I was doing wrong!
ByE need to make amends with water 😁😁😁
Im warching this after my 2nd swimming class after nearly drowning. Maybe also to overcome my fear of water
Just watched this. I usually play with a floater in water. Always thought it’s too late to learn to swim. I’m 26. Can’t wait to try what I just learnt out. Fingers crossed
Thanks for the tutorial. In my yester years, I rushed my swimming lessons 😅. I'm a good diver but not a good swimmer , so i wonna refresh my skills
I swim exactly like the tense incorrect guy. Room for improvement, I guess 😂😬
I could listen to your accent all day! It’s beautiful!
I can’t swin but I can float 🤷🏻♀️

Who
This style is so extreme and hard for begginers. I learn fast swimming with frog style. But this video is so awsom. Ty for learning us.
I noticed how tensed by body gets to the point I can't move it, will give this a go and keep following on
Lol, I learned how to swim in about a month when I was 13 so I could make the swim team my crush was on, and I could swim better than some other people who have swam for years, then we moved to Florida, and I got hammered
Hi, I have just started to learn to swim and your videos are very helpful. I have learning and trying the drills advised in your videos but am unable float with ease.
I started from yesterday, being a 38 old man, its very tough for me. No one in swimming pool trainer helping me. CN you guide
I swim at public pool so I can’t open my eyes without goggles under water
I can't either. That's why in pool class, goggles are needed
@@nancy54379 why not?
Why not?

I'm an adult at mid 20s. Never had a formal swimming lesson. Thank you for this video
Amazing pool bro..
Youre right we need to be friend with water first before swim
I've just been to my first ever swimming lesson/pool, and the teacher told me the program isn't for beginners 😢
I'm 24 btw
''open your eyes in the water there is nothing dangerous about it''

Watching this with love from Uganda 🇺🇬 Africa
Tbh a mistake I always make is closing my eyes in water even though I can do it because I sometimes forget to open my eyes. I ended up starting to lose my breath and I realized I was 1 foot away from the side and then I end up feeling embarrassed. BRUH
Same🤣🤣🤣
Same here🤣🙋🏻♀️
thank you for the video I'm gonna try and hit the pools. I really want to learn how to swim so i can conquer my fear of water.
*Me Watching this video while im drowning*
Its eight minutes so probably you will drown.. Sadly
Ok ik this is a joke
how about you just fucking listen and learn how to do the thing, insted of being a whiney little bitch and makeing the same comment 300 others have
And by the way it's MAKING not MAKEING. Learn how to spell properly first before being dumb enough to
be rude to others.
@TECHNO STARTERS Yep. At least we both know how to spell unlike some people.
I love on how youtube notifies me when there's an argument in the comments section....
Lol)
(NOT my oldest sister after one incident where I almost drowned in the lake!) even with my mom, when I was around the age of five, I still wanted to be somewhat close to the wall.
but as I got older, I was able to venture out more; partially because I was getting taller. Lol.
and now, once I get comfortable in the pool, lake, etc.
Does the cl2 in pool water harms eyes if goggles aren't worn?
I'm 52 and learnt how to swim in 5 lessons. The key was breathing which only 1 family member told me and made the difference 🎉
Who else knows how to swim but almost forgets it in quarantine
Thank you team , I really loved it
Any advice for a struggling beginner? I try, but I panic so much in the water that I keep almost drowning in 3ft of water. 3ft!! It's ridiculous and my friend makes so much fun of me.... I really want to get better at swimming.
Same.
Take it slow I guess
Baby steps
Get more comfortable in the water first by just spending time there
I’m going to get a pool up this weekend so I am watching these videos so I am able to actually swim in it and also so I can go on trips that involve swimming in it
My main issue is breathing. I feel like I am still breathing out when I turn my head for air. Then dont have time to take a breath in before my next stroke. Do I just need to slow it down and take full deliberate breaths instead about breathing every 2-3 strokes?
Doug Mckee This is me too!
Same with me, I don’t have enough time and when I just turn my head, I go back to the water and accidentally do something with my nose that kind of feels like it is stinging and just feels hot and like it’s burning.
Bro your swimming teacher 😎 thanq
Am going swimming tommorow but I don't know, I wish I was expert

Good video, thanks for making
learnt swimming on first day.
Thank you!! Best swim teacher ever!
Wow, thanks!
Its great, but you haven't explained the most necessary things which is when we have to breeze or blow up the air and as well when we have such the air?
Thanks
I tried this once and i was able to swim though i can't with my head out of water. So helpful thank you
Thank you for this step-by-step instructions.
useful basic information, thankyou!👍🏻
