At least here panel screws are not holding a window regulator in place as they do on my seat leon mk2. Not to mention the funky way panel attaches to the door lock. As you said - puzzle.

This is not the way to do this. I did what you said and have found out the hard way, this is not the way its supposed to be done. You should never remove the drivers door seal end cap. It needs to remain on the doorcard, the fixings on the TT are very brittle and weak. I notice you haven't shown you trying to get the rubber grommets for the seal back in on the outside of the doorcard?? Lol ....its near impossible to get it refitted successfully without weakening or breaking the housings for the rubber lugs on the cap. Hours of silicone grease and gentle persuasion and you might have some success but it won't ever sit the way it was. Save yourself a huge headache/having to glue them back down/new doorcard/tearing your hair out. Don't take the outside end cap off the doorcard!!! Separate it from the door seal on the other side.

The video is the clear and simple for taking speakers out a 22 year old car. I agree it takes time to get the rubber ends back on but with some skill and calmness it can get done.
My point being the video is not wrong. Every audi tt mk1 is different.
