    Very intesting. I like the onboard compressor! Much easier than plugging in a compressor all the time.

      Thanks! It’s pretty old but I refurbed it in lockdown and now works great again.

    Lekker walk-around! I can highly recommend air bags on the Fortuner, it makes a big difference with variable loads at the back (like towing in my case).

    Hi there Simon! Noticed this video is a bit old so your rig has probably changed again by now. Very nice walk around and nicely thought out overlander. If it was my vehicle, I would remove the Roof top tent, and get a 2m awning tent from Frontrunner that fits onto your existing awning. You'll save 60kg on the roof and the awning tent will be on the inside of the vehicle when travelling so it would be quite dust free when you need it. I have subscribed and look forward to more videos! 😃

      Hi Freddy. Thanks for checking out the video. I now have an Alucab setup with their 270 awning. You can check out my Instagram. Your plan is not a bad one but the hardshell tents just make the moving around so much more convenient. 👌

    Hey Bud, I have the OZ Tent 270 awn on brackets on my Fortuner. Heinrich @Hannibal made the brackets. Yes it is high, but it is so awesome to use. Our 1.8m tent opens to the drivers side then the remainder sides are covered with the 270 awning. Have plug and play lights under each of them. Saw one advertised on gumtree if you keen. Talk to Hannibal about your roof rack.

    Have put the airbags in my 100 series LC to deal with sagging. Best thing I could ever have done. Sorted out the sagging but also improved the ride over rough terrain. Just get the blue Coil-Rite Firestone bags and not the red ones. I also use my Indeflate for it to keep pressures the same.

    Camil rear shocks work well on those fortuners. Watch the rack weights especially offroad as the weight rating is half certified load.

    Cool video. You popped up on my Myspace page, so thought I would check you out. Also have a 2006 V6. I have an LASport replacement bumper. LOve the idea of the FR table, looks like a bit of a squeeze though. I guess your number plate is on the horizontal part which is great as we wanted to move ours ffrom the middle of the spare wheel. Really love the rear seat conversion, really love it!!!
    One question. How do you get into malls with tanks and RTT? We want to put an IKamper up on top, but scared we will hit it when entering malls for supplies!!
    Gonna check out the rest of ur vids now!!!

    • @RolbosOverland
      @RolbosOverland  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! Glad you enjoyed. I had to add some spacers to accommodate the table but fits 100% now. Haha I can’t get into parking lots but I also don’t really go to malls. In Joburg that might be more of an issue.
      Thanks for checking out the channel!
      Will finally be putting up some new content in the next few weeks so stay tunes.

    Darche do a 180⁰ awning which would give the same side coverage as a 270⁰, just without the part that swings around the back.
    If you are considering a winch, look into Carbon Winches by KSP in Australia, they are among the lightest available, and have a fantastic warranty.

  • @shaunbotha2241

    Great, have a facelift Tuna myself - love it! Regarding your NL fridge, in particular the quick release hinges - are these a NL product? Would love to try modify a pair to fit my snomaster - my fridge is mounted onto a drawer slide and limited with space! Thanks man

    • @RolbosOverland
      @RolbosOverland  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What drawer system do you have? Most of them work with a strap that should be easy to take off. I also have a Snomaster fridge now with a Alu-Cab slide. Quick quick to get it released.

    • @shaunbotha2241
      @shaunbotha2241 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rolbos Overland I’ve custom built a FR cargo slide into the tail end of the Tuner, the fridge clears the roof - dual doors won’t open completely though - I wouldn’t be able to remove a basket if needed... It’s not a deal breaker, those quick release hinges just seemed like a lekke alternative...

      @RolbosOverland  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Alucab one I have tilts down which gives me enough space. Check on my Instagram perhaps.

    Like the Rolbos front bumper....can I fit it with standard Fortuner suspension or do I need to have e.g. OME suspension also fitted?Thanks. J.Sch.

    • @RolbosOverland
      @RolbosOverland  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a Wildog bumper. I am sure you can but it might sag a bit. Maybe contact them. Remember to use Rolbos10 for a 10% discount. 😁

    • @johannschlebusch7808
      @johannschlebusch7808 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thx....will chwck ir out. Apparantly not so heavy than e.g. the ARB's etc., therefore maybe one don't need new suspension....
