When roger tells rayleigh he wont die, it hits even more when you remember Dr Hiriluk's speech in Drum island talking about how "a man doesnt die when hes shot or inffected by a deadly illness, but when hes forgotten" Goda is too good
Not spoilers, but headcannon theorization based on potential spoilers, so I will keep it vague. I think it's possible that there might be a bit more to that line than a thematic connection to Hiriluk (or some other characters who represent similar themes). It's definitely part of it though, and if that's all it is, it's still REALLY GOOD.
I think the best part of this arc that never gets mentioned is the bubbles popping to signify the Straw Hats disappearing. It's so visceral in an already really emotional scene and it gets me every time I watch it.
I love the small detail of Luffy switching from his typical red shirt to a blue shirt, very subtly hinting a sad arc Also fun fact: Rayleigh can first be seen in episode 8 in Buggy’s flashback
Fun fact about Rayleigh , in the manga his introduction this happened in chapter 500 exactly but this wasn't his first appearance , he appears ( or at least an early version of his character ) in episode 8 during Buggy's flashback

Not that it's super important, but the "Roranoa" portion of his name is confirmed to be a reference to Francois l'Olonnais. I can draw *some* parallels if I stretch, but mostly it's like the rest of his real life pirate references. A name-only reference that makes for interesting entry points into the history of Caribbean piracy. Other real-life pirates references in One Piece, from most obvious to least: Blackbeard - Edward "Blackbeard" Thatch Drake - Sir Francis Drake Bellamy - Samuel Bellamy Bartolomeo - "Black" Bart Roberts Eustace Kid - Captain Kidd Jewelry Bonney - Ann Bonny Roronoa Zoro - Francois l'Olonnais There might be others, but that's every one I've ever caught. The thing that brake my hart every time is Kuma "disappearing" Strow hats, especially Nami and Robin, Robin for abandoned issue that she struggled with her past, and for Nami, every time i see that scene when she dissappear she tray to cry for help like in Arlong Park, but didn't even finish her cry.
I was wondering if you remember a small anime moment where Ace became drinking buddies with Buggy after somehow finding his way to Buggy's ship. If you don't, in that scene, Buggy refuses all suggestions by his crew to try and take Ace while he was sleeping because he insisted no bounty would be worth the wrath that Whitebeard would bring and that Whitebeard ALWAYS avenged any attacks on his crewmembers. So having this arc tease Ace's upcoming public execution is incredibly hype between that and the things we've learned of Whitebeard in the worldbuilding episodes between arcs since Alabasta. Namely that his epitaph is 'The Strongest Man in the World' and that he heads one of the top 4 strongest crews in existence and was a direct rival of Roger. Excited for your thoughts on the next few arcs.
Back when I remained as an anime-only watcher for one piece on a week by week basis, the last episode of this arc was what made me say, "fuck it, im not waiting anymore“ and jumped to the manga

The first time I saw it, I got it but didn’t dwell on it too much but on re-watch, my gawd, on RE-WATCH, everything hits a 100x harder and I cry every episode. HONESTLY DONT STOP YOURSELF FROM GETTING HYPED FOR THE NEXT ARCS, cuz BOI IT JUST GOES OFF FROM HEREEE
You know it really is a dire situation when even luffy screams at you to run, when chopper looks around and decides to become a monster and when sanji can no longer keep his cool and just thrusts blindly

These have no conversation since its basically 1 art per chapter (aka the cover). A couple examples has "little buggy adventure" (which has animated) and Hachi escape (which has not, but we had see him starting his takoyaki store). For the crew they received cover art stories while we follow luffly alone for a while. In the anime they expanded to full episodes (I think 1 ep for 2 members) with dialogue and more context. They are great

I'm sure people have told you but Sanji will get his time to shine eventually and it's really good shine but you'll go through a bit of sanji slog before you get to that point, didn't bother me but to be fair I kinda just accept most stuff. Also the crew getting ripped apart it hurts seeing how desperate they all are to survive and when Luffy breaks down it always hurts so much

Just found you and got caught up, many questions and problems you have I cannot answer, for 2 reasons, spoilers and we still dont know 1 you had in Thriller Bark is Moria knowing what Oars attack to stretch and you said it would be impossible, but you had already seen this feet before, in Skypea, Mantra, it will be explained later what it trully is but know it was already established One thing I can mildly say is that the translation of it name will be "will" or "ambition"

My friend. I heavily reccomend you turn to the manga as soon as possible. You seem to finaly get how great the series is and how great it can become. But soon the anime goes to shit, while the manga reaches new hights... Either that, or go for One Pace, a fan made edited version of the anime, far more accurate to the source material
I'm a manga lover but I still prefer One Piece Anime simply because I have been watching it since 2012. Although the pacing sucks, the voice acting and OST always make the emotional scenes more amazing something which the manga can't replicate. A new fan like you who started during the quarantine can't understand this

Just want to point out a small correction. There are 9 total supernova crews, not 7. There are 11 supernova in total and only Luffy and Kid have 2 people with over 100m bounty on their crews. So 9 total supernova crews.

The name of the power is haki (is a word that has multiple meanings when translated into English. It can mean "ambition", "will power", "drive", "spirit", "vigor" and "aspiration" to name a few. The term itself, however, literally translates to "Supreme Qi") not akai.
For Duval thing, I think Oda just wanted to leave stronger impression on readers about Sanji’s wanted poster not looking exactly like him. Setting up for Sanji’s big identity reveal of Germa in later chapters.

There are filler episodes that focus on the straw hats that aren't Luffy. Those are canon. Highly recommend you watch those for context.

Just found you and got caught up, many questions and problems you have I cannot answer, for 2 reasons, spoilers and we still dont know
1 you had in Thriller Bark is Moria knowing what Oars attack to stretch and you said it would be impossible, but you had already seen this feet before, in Skypea, Mantra, it will be explained later what it trully is but know it was already established
One thing I can mildly say is that the translation of it name will be "will" or "ambition"

Be patient, Sanji's arc will come. Just be prepared at that moment. Oda already foreshadow lots of his past up to this point.

Even if anyone else had more money than Saint Charlos, I doubt they would have try to out bid him, simply because of who he is. When one of the Celestial Dragons bid, everyone else stfu (at least that is what I think, he could have bid 1 berrie and noone would have challenged him).

My friend. I heavily reccomend you turn to the manga as soon as possible. You seem to finaly get how great the series is and how great it can become. But soon the anime goes to shit, while the manga reaches new hights... Either that, or go for One Pace, a fan made edited version of the anime, far more accurate to the source material
I'm a manga lover but I still prefer One Piece Anime simply because I have been watching it since 2012. Although the pacing sucks, the voice acting and OST always make the emotional scenes more amazing something which the manga can't replicate. A new fan like you who started during the quarantine can't understand this
@@noxccty6200 One Pace doesn't remove heavy scenes, music, or whatever you're being emotional about. It doesn't cut out scenes carelessly. The person actually gave good advices for a much better reading/watching experiences, that's definitely another real fan. Take it or leave it. I don't understand the logic of you talking as if you're an important person just because you've been a long time fan.

I don't appreciate my comments being removed 🙂 not once, but twice without given a reason. I been reading this story since 2004, I know what's spoiler and what's not and I'm pretty sure what I said is" you should read the cover story" not read it! to enhance the experience that the anime lacks, so I apologize if i was misunderstood but removing a comment without a reason is just plain rude.

Just want to point out a small correction. There are 9 total supernova crews, not 7. There are 11 supernova in total and only Luffy and Kid have 2 people with over 100m bounty on their crews. So 9 total supernova crews.
