Love the poetic explantation of an era gone. What a difference in attitude. And how magical fly fishing was when I started so many decades ago yet never get bored . Prove is that I still like to watch these older video's. Probably film
Love this video. I fished the Stewiake in the early 90s (may have been the last year it was open for salmon) when I was still too young to appreciate what we had at the time in Nova Scotia. Now only a handful of Nova Scotia rivers emptying into the Northumberland Strait hold fishable populations of salmon. It's just hard to look back at videos like this and wrap my head around what we've lost in such a short period of time.
Lee was a complete innovator. An adapted Photography vest, which became the first fishing vest. Invented the first spey tapers, with the Triangle taper. Pathfinder of catch and release and probably the first proponent of the finger point grip when casting.

@@newflyfisher Wow! I would like to learn to fly fish from her! 🎣🎣
Lovely. Remember when people who made fly-fishing videos understood that blaring music didn't make them "better?" Such a gentler time...
Using a net is cheating apparently.
We always carried landing nets on the river. Not sure why they're not.
