Ever wanted to learn how to read crochet chart symbols? Then maybe you would like my quick video tutorial on the basic symbols and of course a free chart pattern to try! th-cam.com/video/geSnGEPWWqY/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for the wonderful video! I have been wanting to try using charts, but have been too scared to try until I saw your video. Thank you for opening up a new window in crocheting for me!
you are my absolute favorite teacher!!!!! the best! thank you so much for all of your help on all of my crochet journeys!
***** You are more than welcome! I'm glad you are enjoying my tutorials.
I love using Charts and Symbols over a written pattern any day. Trying to get a new crocheter into using charts/symbols, and sent them this tutorial to get them started. It's really no different than learning/memorizing the abbreviations used in written patterns.
I love your work. Thank you so so much.
Hi, i love your tutorials!!! You have taught me SO much!!! A question please, how do you crochet a kind of slanted stitch that is seen to be used for so many crochet' toys.
Have you done a tutorial on how to make a hexagon?
Hello ma’am I follow a crochet pattern symbol that I found in Pinterest and there this one symbol that idk what it is. it have an underline X symbol and it translates “crochet streak” and idk what it is so I been searching in yt and see that u use jp symbol as well and wanna ask if uk what underline X means
I found it difficult to see the graph with the colors used.
Hello may i ask you which software did you use for drawing the chart? Thanks in advance
Very nice explanation of how to read a chart! I'm still learning, so this was very helpful. If you don't mind my asking, what software did you use to create the chart? I've seen another designer use the same kind, but so far, I haven't been able to find anything on the internet about the software.
JadeLF I use web design software Fireworks as I am a web designer by trade.
Thank you! It's definitely looking like this type of software is the way to go for creating charts in the round. :)
Oh, you say to see your video on how to make a magic circle, but where is it, please???
Çok teşekkürler 👍👏
It's difficult to see your chart.
This is all SOOOOO crazy!!! What's wrong with the way we've been crocheting for the past 80-100 years without chart patterns????? Just trying to follow this basic design you've made for us is giving me a massive headache!!!
They use chart patterns in Japan, this video is to introduce those who wish to learn chart patterns.
I guess it depends on how we first started learning crochet. I first started learning crochet from my mum who self-taught herself crochet by studying Japanese crochet pattern books. That was how I became inspired to learn crochet. I have since learned to read a crochet pattern and once I went to a bookshop and found a pattern book in English, and my God, I thought, "Why would anyone read a crazily long wordy text when patterns are so much easier to read and follow?"
I so wish someone would show how to actually read japanese patterns in depth and explain all the symbols, lines, arrows, and most importantly the 5-6 diff schematics per one pattern.
Then I shall work on this in more detail! :) Leave it with me.
