How I remember about the front and back loop hoot only symbol.
Front hook (faced left) faces towards the front of a sentence( how you’re eyes are reading this right now lol) and the hook faces to the right is faced toward last the end or back of a sentence. It works for me, if it works for you then hell yeah

Oh thank you so much! I am so excited for this tutorial! My daughter bought me a beautiful crochet flowers book and all the patterns are in chart! Now I can make flowers! 🙏

I’ve been crocheting for 3 years and haven’t been able to read a chart. THANKS for the clear tutorial . I will practice until I get it. I was gifted a crochet book with only charts and it’s very old from Portugal. I can’t wait to get one done.

Thank you for explaining the stitch symbols in a way we can remember. Clever lady!

I'm loving this tutorial. Explaining that the cross hatches on the stitch post represent how many times you wrap the yarn around the hook really helps. I just made the heart following the symbols. Thanks.

Thank you so much for this excellent tutorial on what I call, crochet "Short-hand"! I'm relatively new to crochet and TH-cam in general, and I've never seen this before! I try to follow along with various tutorials and write down the instructions as I go, but get frustrated with writing all the names of the stitches. This is definitely something I can use to shorten the process and get me on the way!!
I truly like your patient, step by step instructions!! Keep 'em coming, please!

I’ve only been crocheting for a month, but I wish this was the standard way that people wrote patterns, because this seems so much easier, to me.

Thank you. Ive seen the charts before and have long thought it would be useful to be able to understand them. But, I do have a question. What is the difference between a chain stitch and a single crochet in the chart?

The two curves at the bottom are work into the back loop only and work into the front loop only. They aren't related to the post stitches.

As the US terms represent different stitches to the UK terms, that still presents a problem of which stitch to use!

The translation aka the name is just different. The stitch is the same so is the symbol

I’ll be honest.. after reading a crochet pattern since I was 13 (now47) I’m not liking the symbols 😳😩

I have been crocheting and knitting since I was 20 years old, just reading patterns. I prefer a written pattern to the symbols. I ignore the symbols.

Hey! Really hopeful! I could only crochet by watching videos! You made my day Nicki :)
Do you have any videos for lefties?? (left hand crochet)
My daughter wants to learn (she is 5) but I can't teach her .. because I can't understand how to reverse ...

    • @NickisHomemadeCrafts
      @NickisHomemadeCrafts  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

You don’t need left handed videos. Just get the free chrome extension “video mirror” and it will flip any video on the browser around so a leftie can follow. Unlimited possibilities😀 enjoy
