Agree. She does a great job of providing the background info you’ll need (a list of terminology) and then doing individual clips that clearly demonstrate and verbalize the process. As a former career teacher, I give her an A+ for effectiveness. 👏

So great! I am relearning to crochet. I did a baby blanket many years ago so I figured I should be able to do it again. My goal is to crochet blanket sets for premature babies. The finished projects look so adorable. Gives me something creative to do in crappy weather or when my husband is watching sports which is a lot of time at the moment. Thanks for your easy to follow steps. You are like a VERY patient home economics teacher.

I should have looked for you're video a while ago! I've crocheted blankets for years with stitches friends showed me (I'm 52) I started making hats and tops last year thanks to You Tube. The one question I was always unclear on was whether to stitch under one part or the whole "v" of a stitch. You did a great job explaining and your camera angles were right on!!!!! Thank you❤

I'm a brad new, as in today, to crochet. I came across you beginner video and thought I could do that only because you made so clear and simple and at a perfect speed. Not so slow it's annoying or so fast I couldn't follow. I have tried to learn before but gave because I couldn't understand or there weren't any good advancement videos. I fully understand "life" and truly pray you are doing well. Thank you for what you put out already. I'm thankful to hear about the new one. I pray God blesses you with peace, health, and all the other gifts I know he has for. Thank you again!

Hi Miss Daisy! I'm a (middle aged soon-to-be Grandma) beginner crocheter from BC Canada and have been very grateful for the wonderful tutorials you've done. I'm busy making a little summer to using the starburst granny squares and I can't wait for it to be finished because it's going to be super cute! I'm noticing you haven't posted any recent video tutorials but sure hope you come back soon. I'll be looking forward to them! 👍🏻

A lot of, off the wall, thrift stores. Will have books, free of charge or very cheap. We have several, church, and food pantry thrift stores in our area. That do not charge for books. Maybe you can find one in your area. Thank you for your work on these videos. I have finally found the time, in my 50s, to learn how to crochet. Keep up the good work.

I really wish you would start to make videos again teaching how to do different aspects of crochet. I would also like to specifically ask for a video on how to change colors while crocheting. Also more specific projects maybe, like dolls or toys. You are the only you tuber that I was able to learn from. You are very good at teaching. I am just beginning and I chose to make a blanket for my first real project. I am going back and forth between 3 rows of single crochet and 3 rows of double crochet and I am hoping to use 3 different colors of yarn.

I find that with written patterns (with no mistakes in them) are best done if you just start at the first thing, do that exactly, then do the next thing, and so forth. It may sound dumb, but I'm fairly used to written patterns, and if I try to read a whole section, my brain can't do it. So just do _exactly_ what it tells me to do, step by step, and it works.
The bane of my existence is patterns that leave things up to interpretation. "double crochet in each stitch" while not mentioning that for every chain space, you have to do as many double crochets as there's chains, so if there was a chain 3, double crochet 3 in chain space, is an example of such. In the case of that example, it was very obvious you needed to do it, but still. But I've also learned by experience to recognize when such a thing happens now.
I have a harder time with drawn patterns. They're messy and not very specific in where you put stitches. At least the one I tried. Could also be down to the fact I'm not used to doing a circular pattern, and dont' know how to join when ending a round. (Do I just keep going, or do I slip stitch? Pattern says no slip stitch. Pattern may be wrong. Ugh)

Hello! So I started watching your videos (I've only seen this one and the two beginner ones) and I decided to subscribe because without them I wouldn't have been able to learn without them! It wasn't until this video, though, that I realized that the reason my sc was coming out weird was because I was doing "back post" by accident! Thankfully, I realize what I was doing wrong, now and will hopefully be able to make things a little more smooth.
I was wondering if you'd make any more "stitch tutorial" videos.. I'd be interested in seeing things like "slip stitch" and the "together" stitches that I haven't figured out how to do yet.

Hi Daisy, I’m really wanting to crochet a sweater for my medium size dog. Wondering if you’ve ever done it & hoping you’ll share your valuable tips & patterns w/ us if you have : )

I would like to see a video about the importance on yarn weight and how to pick them out. Also, how a different weight affects the finished product.

I love your videos! It made learning how to do this so much easier! Would you be able to do a video on how to make rounds and how to work in rounds?

HI Simplydaisy...I hope this comment/question finds you well and that you see it even though its been awhile since this video was posted. I have learned so much from your videos and I think you have been more helpful than any other person I have watched, I know other people explain well also, but for some reason, how you explain things just works well for me. Anyway, I am working on my first project after taking about a week just to loosen up my chain stitching because it was so so tight, but, I digress. So, my project is (hopefully) going to be a scarf for my 5 year old but, I keep getting these weird loops that seem to stick out at the end of almost everyone of my rows, I know its most because it actually alternates sides depending on what side I end the row on. I took a pic but don't think i can post a pic in a comment so i'm hoping you understand what I am trying to explain. If you put the project flat on the table and look down at it, with say my last finished row going from left to right, these "loops" look like they are going from the front edge to the back edge of my project(Almost as if I turned a single Loop/stitch(?I don't *think* its a stitch because its only one piece of thread going from front to back, not two threads) at a 90 degree angle). Any idea what the heck i'm doing wrong? I mean, for all I know, i'm not doing it wrong and maybe i'm just starting my rows way to loosely or missing the last stitch in the end of the row, or the first stitch at the beginning? I have no clue and its really bugging the crap out of me. If you, or anyone else, thinks they understand what i am talking about, I would really appreciate any help or suggestions that can be provided. THANK YOU!!!

Ooof. Even with your clear explanation, I can see I'm really gonna struggle with reading patterns. I have a feeling the first time (or first several times!) I try to follow one I'm gonna end up in tears. I really wanna try crocheting but seeing these pattern instructions I'm nervous... Eeek! I know I'm more of a visual learner so maybe I can follow people here & stitch with em. Or, after the pandemic is over, go to classes IRL!
