How to Check and Clean PCV Valve on Suzuki F6A 660cc Engine

- Been more than a year since my 1994 Suzuki Every DE51V minivan has undergone massive engine overhaul. Since then everything went smooth and sailing until I saw heavy oil leaking under the timing belt cover and I suspect it sources from there. I just ignored it and another few months passed then I saw another oil leak! This time the oil leak is coming from the distributor oil seal! I was thinking why this is happening when every oil installed seal is brand new? Oil levels drop quickly just right after an oil change. After many sleepless nights researching on the web, I found out that this is due to PCV valve failure. Then comes this day to do an acquired knowledge to fix and to my surprise, the damn PCV valve was installed backwards! Finally made up my mind that there are no good auto mechanics here in the Philippines. Just hacks and crooks.
Good news, after cleaning up the valve, it is still very functional and still good as new.

SIGNS OF A BAD PCV VALVE
You probably don't realize how important the PCV system-the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve and its related components-is to the well-being of your engine.
A bad PCV valve or related component can produce a number of symptoms. For example, if the valve clogs, or gets stuck in the closed position, you'll notice one of these symptoms.
SYMPTOMS OF A BAD PVC
- Increase in internal engine pressure
- Failure of one or more oil seals or gaskets
- Engine oil leaks
- Moisture and sludge buildup inside the engine
- Engine surges and possibly black smoke
- If the PCV valve gets stuck open, or a system hose gets disconnected or ruptured-producing a vacuum leak-you'll notice one or more of these symptoms.
SYMPTOMS OF A STUCK PCV
- Engine misfires at idle
- Lean air-fuel mixture
- Presence of engine oil in PCV valve or hose
- Increased oil consumption
- Hard engine start
- Rough engine idle
In addition, a PCV valve stuck open can trigger the "check engine" light due to increased air flow. And a diagnostic computer may erroneously blame this light on a mass air flow sensor or oxygen sensor instead, making it harder for you to detect the real source of the problem.

Scientist to na mga siraniko. PCV valve importante na nig idle ug inig accelerate. Put back the pcv valve and tune your idle, also check your ignition timing.

@@chrclmnky mao ni ang problema ron kay bisan unsaon naq og adjust sa hangin og gas pangit kaayo og andar basta nkatakod ang pcv valve. hay kasakit ba sab sa ulo ani! tabang boss bi basig naa kay idea dha unsaon pag adjust kung naay pcv valve.
@@elmerguevarra5771 carb na? E set proper ignition timing. Sunod adjust sa fast idle, air fuel mixture, ug main idle screw. Hinanglan kag timing light ug vacuum gauge. E check pod resistance sa imo coil ug high tension cables basin failing na.

Ano po brand ng pcv valve na naka install diyan, and yung smaller pipe po sa intake correct tapos yung longer pipe ng pcv valve sa engine cover?

Hello ashram, hard starting might be a bad fuel pump. Low compression might be vlave issues or worn piston rings.
so where was the checking? i saw you spray it with carb. and choke cleaner.
The check is to determine the flow direction and by blowing through to check if its still working. Cleaning it first will ease the job.
Boss inig paandar nako okey man ang idle. inig padangan nako segunda okey pa ang dagan pero inig tresera na inig htamak nakog gasolinador magkiyodkiyod man ang dagan pero inig full throttle na mawala.Unsay sakit kaha ani boss salamat sa advice!

Di pwede. Mamumuo ang blowby sa crankcase ng engine ninyo. Laking problema yun.

Sir akoa multicab bago overhaul bago piston bago ring one click paandarin problema diinan mo acceleration mausok ng puti pinalit an ng bagong valve seal uli ganon padin kino dim ang hose na papuntang hydrauvac galing intake ganon padin puti parin ang usok sa tambutso kinompresstion test na 180psi ang makuha sa tulo ka cylinder. Pwedi patulong mga amigos. F6a makina salamat.

Check cylinder compression. Check also fuel pump. As well as the high tension cables using multimeter. Check proper timing.
Might be the head gasket is leading coolant to the ignition chamber.
