- Back in 2017, we discussed the weirdest fusion monsters from the early days of Yu-Gi-Oh. Their materials simply didn’t fit the final product of the Polymerization, but just ten wasn’t enough to show off the experimental days of old school Yu-Gi-Oh, as we have received many suggestions for a sequel list, which we’re all for. So let’s take a look at more fusion monsters the raise some eyebrows, whether it’s with the monsters that create them or something else. NegetiveX, Judgment Meter and A.T. from Software Agents TV join me for this analysis of the ages.

I was much more amused by the Rose Spectre of Dunn segment than I expected to be. Also, NegetiveX's constant state of amazement and shock shows why he's the greatest cohost.
I imagine Rose Spectre would move like the girl from The Grudge... but out of a flower. If this ends up becoming nightmare fuel, I sincerely apologize!✌😅
@Judgement Meter: One thing you guys missed: Rose Spectre of Dunn is actually a palette swap of the card Arlownay, who to my knowledge, is not used as fusion material for any fusion monsters (I could be wrong, though). Also, those thorns you were confused about are actually a part of her body; she IS a rose, after all.

"This card is named in honor of 4Kids co-producer Michele Dunn, who helped bring the Yu-Gi-Oh! series to North America."
We had a good feeling about that, so I'm glad we guessed right! Still, a strange card to honor Dunn with, but at least it's a cool looking one.

@@brianaguilar8283 Yeah, since I discussed that on the first fusion list, I was pretty suspicious when I saw another unrelated name in an American translation from the Japanese name.
Yeah... If the TCG ever got rebooted, they need to stop naming cards after obscure employees.

Weirdly, Labyrinth Tank is in my Top 10 all time favorite card designs. I just think it looks neat.
Not weird at all. I just wish they have a retrain version of it by now. They have a new Launcher Spider, new Jinzos, new Barrel Dragon, new Flame Swordsman, but where’s the tank?

What if Sanwitch is actually the daughter of Sangan and Witch of the Black Forest, I mean, they meet in prison, they reilase that they have things in common like that they are both generic searchers for monsters, they both have 3 eyes, they are both dark-attribute, they were popular in the early yugioh, then got banned and then receive a new errata than makes them barely playable. They got married (I guess, I don't judge) and they had a daughter with the face of her dad and the height of her mother, and now she is chilling in the black forest with her dad probably telling her how he meet her mother or something.
Deepest lore, I love it! Or it's Witch of the black forest using her witch magic to disguise herself after Sangan her her escaped from the forbidden monster zone!

I'm inclined to believe all of these fusion monsters where just their own standalone monster but Konami _really_ needed fusion monsters. So they just retroactively adapted them into the OCG/TCG using any monsters whose lore, name, attribute or typing could work.

I got to get Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon for my Yu-Gi-Oh! card collection. You heard me right, I said "Yu-Gi-Oh! card collection". I have so many Yu-Gi-Oh! cards in all of my Yu-Gi-Oh! tins. The cards are very amazing and unique as well. When I saw my first Yu-Gi-Oh! card, I was super surprised to get it. That's when I started collecting the cards so I can start my own duels. I wish that I could meet Yugi Moto or his spirit of the Millenium puzzle, or maybe both. that would be awesome. Sabrina Griffin

I do love the designs of this old cards but yeah they are so wortless. I am glad the games Forbidden Memories and Duelist of the roses made good use of this cards.

Nice video. Btw, the correct zoological term for corpse-eating carnivores would be scavengers. As an aside, have you noticed how Crawling Dragon #2's flavor text describes him as "a powerful dragon" even though he is listed as a dinosaur? Konami really couldn't agree on this one for some reason :P

Pause the video at 2:25 and 2:41 to see labyrinth tank has wolf teeth. Literally just noticed this in this video and my mind is blown. Ive literally been playing yugioh since Legend of Blue Eye and this new revelation is quite incredible

Bitch was gonna trade a binder-full of commons (cards Grandpa likely already had at least 50 copies of sitting in storage) for a card theres only four of.

It would be cool if we had an effect monster that states "This card's name is treated as "Ultimate Offering" while on the field and / GY." So we could legally summon the number 1 monster on this list!
I actually learnt something from a Duel Links video the other day. Turns out you can fuse face-up Spells/Traps that are placed in the monster zones by the effect of Magical Hats, since the Spell/Traps are treated as monsters.

One thing to note. Brachiosaurus has not been discredited. Brontosaurus ,on the other hand, was. Brontosaurus was basically a mix of Brachiosaurus' head with an Apatosaurus body. Although, recently there is discussion that Brontosaurus was actually real now.

That was actually from the episode with the duckling that acted cute in front of Eustace and Muriel while he terrorized Courage. However, I was thinking about that episode when editing that part.
Yugioh Forbidden Memories did had some interesting fusions that did made sense. dragon Zombie + any zombie = Skelgon for example and it was ahead of it's time as many years later we did got this sort of fusion where you can use any monster of the thpe.
21:29 I object to that idea. Trap Monsters are a hybrid of the two so that should have been the fusion material replacement for Ultimate Offering. An example would be Embodiment of Apothis.
I agree with that. I was actually going to say something about how they would work, but since the segment was long, I omitted it and those cards say to treat them as an effect monster, so that at least explains how they could be used over a standard continuous trap.

@@commonramerror2348 I don't have the numbers but not to over powered. Basically around the range of 3000 Attack 2000 Defense. Metal Reflector Slime is the range of roughly 0 Attack but has 3500 Defense. That Slime is not really offensive at all. A heck of a hurdle Defensively.

7:38 I think you're thinking of the Brontosaurus, which was discredited for a long time before reclaiming its status as a real dinosaur in 2015.
You're likely right. Since they called the monster "Bracchio-raidus," we weren't sure which one it was supposed to be since it looked more like a Brontosaurus, but the name said it was essentially a Brachiosaurus.

Yeah, originally it was an Argument over which side the head whether Apatosaurus or Brontosaurus was correct recreation went on because they did no have the full tail. Then Brontosaurus name was given to what was later declared a separate Species in the same Genus.
According to Yugipedia, Rose Spectre of Dunn is named after a 4Kids co-producer Michele Dunn. Don't know how true this is.
I never understood why Mammoth Graveyard wasn't apart of Mammoth of Goldfine, especially given it's use in the anime. I also didn't know about the list-topper, & I gotta say, fusing monsters with other cards seems like an interesting concept! Also also, GREAT video everyone... ALWAYS a pleasure to watch! 😎👍
The funny thing is, if you play duelists of the roses, you actually can make Great Mammoth of Goldfine by fusing Mammoth Graveyard with any zombie type monster in the game.

These cards are the worst....but if Atem make a deck full of them he make the monsters get infinite damage+1!
Always a blast to be a part of these. I loved the Transformers and Power Rangers references, and the look at the very old OCG cards was fun, too.
I quite like the older designs. Reminders of the good old days.

8:20 Cyber-Saurus makes sense in theory but the artwork doesn't 100% line up. I can see Two Headed King Rex fuse with Blast Juggler but the dinosaur body of Cyber saurus doesn't look like two headed King Rex, it only has one head and the robot part doesn't look like Blast Juggler. It might have been less of a stretch if Cyber saurus had 2 heads.

Also Sanwitch isn't even meant to be a pun, it's a perfect localization of the Japanese name. "Critter" combined with the "Witchi" in "Kuroki Mori no Witchi" to make "Critchy"

Technically, there is some fusion monster with trap cards as their fusion material like Mirror Force Dragon, Tyrant Wing Dragon (or whatever the name is, i forget), and other monster I also forget their name. It just that you don't use polymerization to fusion them, but other special cards like Claw of Hermos

me and my brother used some of these cards in the yugioh video games ion Game Boy Advance and DS . some of the materials arent even in some of those games, so you have no choice but to use fusion substitues. but sometimtes even the original versions made no sense . XD

Rose Spectre of Dunn most likely was named after a Konami localizer, since she appeared in games like Forbidden Memories and Duelist of the Roses. Also she moves with the vines like tentacles

Ok. So this fusion monster is a recolor of the "Headhuntress", one of the fusion materials. Did the Headhuntress somehow get powered by Sonic Maid's music, and her clothes turned red and her hair turn green?

I always liked Rose Spectre, personally I'd have made her materials Man Eater, because it kinda matches the flower she's in and Arlownay since the monsters look pretty similar anyway. It could be like the Man Eater is a different flower Arlownay moves to inhabit.

Back then Labyrinth Tank was one of my favorite to fusion summoning using Overload Fusion, that monster actually kinda powerful,
I think if fusion cards didnt require specific monsters but rather specific types of cards, fusion would have been a lot more fun and useful game mechanic early on in yugioh.
For example if the requirements said one fire monster and one warrior earth monster make flame swordsman, that would have been a lot more practical. Further, this is more similar to what a lot of the early video games do for fusion.
Modern day fusion cards do this which is much more versatile.

@@MrTopTenList I've been trying to come up with a list and i can get some from cartoons and anime but when it comes to fighting games or any games in general I really dont find very much heck most of the games dont even have alternate skin of the characters that would fit. So I figured I could ask the expert (you)
I mean there is Blue Suede Goo from Clayfighters I guess for game characters. For anime you have Space Dandy and Sweet JP from Redline from cartoons you have Johnny Bravo. I think there is a Jojo character too but can't remember his name

Man Eating Shark I saw it was half Amazoness of the Seas and Great White. It would make it more sensible with those two fusion materials instead of 3.
I am absolutely in love with the art for Man-Eating Black Shark. I knew about Great White, but MEBS just looks so psyched to be a ‘roofed apex predator I I admire the enthusiasm.

8:55 I think the more better fusion materials should have been krokodilus (because both cyber saurus and krokodilus are both crocodiles) and overdrive (because both overdrive and cyber saurus have Vulcan cannons) since this makes a lot of sense when you think about it.
@@williamgoodlife7408 krokodilus and cyber saurus have similar appearance, being upright crocodiles. While overdrive is jeep with a Vulcan cannon on the vehicle and cyber saurus also has a Vulcan cannon too. They fit much better as fusion materials for cyber saurus rather than two-headed king rex and blast juggler.
What do you mean to make the balls more dangerous on blast juggler, they arent just balls they are bombs, that's why hes called blast juggler

there's a card whose name is Arlownay and the art is exactly the same as the card rose spectre of dunn but in a different pose, so i think that card could be used as a material monster for the fusion

well, if I had to guess why they made the first place illegal is so Ultimate Offering wouldn't technically count as a Fusion Material, as it would become easier to search with cards that search for Fusion Materials

I actually know bracchio raidus because dotodoya used that card twice in the character duels I Re-Binged yesterday, once as just pot fodder and once in a rex raptor deck.

Their fusion materials contain some of Yugi's Duelist kingdom cards such as winged dragon guardian of the fortress 1, silver fang, feral imp, and giant soldier of stone

Brachio-Raidus suddenly makes me think of the Bracchiosaur from Final Fantasy VI, one of the toughest normal encounters in the series (even tougher than ANY Marlboro OR Tonberry and only beaten by the Yans from IX), who is very much a step-up in terms of tough random encounters from the Tyrannosaur who you find in the very same forest, sometimes single, other times in pairs always getting the Side Attack on you! And yes, I intend to take on one of those long-necked monsters in my Let's Play!
And the Brontosaurus was discredited, being a juvenile Apatosaurus!
I feel like all early game fusion monsters where specifically designed for that one PS2 game where you could just fuse whatever the heck you wanted in your hand and it made a fusion monster.

Great video, is a unpopular opinion but I like metal and dark fire dragon.... I totally can see myself with a fusion deck with Panzer dragon and ignation beast volcannon
8:36 It's not just King Rex who's at issue here, design-wise, Cyber-Stien would have made far more sense than Blast Juggler, though gameplay-wise why would you even fusion summon when you have Cyber-Stien? Unless you unloaded your extra deck except for Cyber Saurus and wanted to upgrade Stien's attack points anyway.

If the Hinotama Soul (redundant since "hi no tama" already means "fire soul") really is a spirit, it may possess the Monster Egg and whatever hatches from it becomes Cherubin later on.
What about Darkfire dragon?
That one always made sense to me since firegrass is implied to be some sort of flame plant, so I assumed it was like Petit Dragon getting powered up with fire power.
Also there's Skullbird with Takuhee and temple of skulls. Did Takuhee fly into the temple, and came out Skullbird?
