The best way to use Dark Neos’s effect is to target itself. So that it’s shuffle effect gets negated. Then you have a normal E-hero Neos in edgy Cosplay. Have fun
Why The Neos Cards with Best Artwork had so bad effects? Chaos Neos only needed to have 1 plus effect with 1 heads (like Say, send 1 Neo-Spacian or HERO Monster to The GY) to be played Even If for Style points only. And to be broken it needed an Errata that lets You actívate 3 good effects in succesion If You get 3 heads (Say, send a Neos to GY, Negate All Opponent's face-up cards, then destroy them)
I think the reason the early Heroes had the “must be Fusion Summoned” requirement is because Metamorphosis wasn’t banned yet and they didn’t want players getting ideas.
Just a note, when I said some of these monsters are useful because they're instant fusion targets I meant as fodder (as in used for rank 5 , synchros, links ect). I assumed this was obvious so didn't go into much detail except in the Mariner section.
Well, while it's true for Mariner, in Steam Healer you say to summon it with Instant Fusion and then equip with Fusion Weapon anyway, implying you use it for attacking.
@@HazhMcMoor I had to go back an re-watch that part and yah, that was a mistake on my part. I worded it very poorly and it absolutely sounds like I'm saying you can instant fusion it out and then attack with it, when what I meant to say was it had its instant fusion combo potential, and then, ending that part, if you brought it out normally, you could maybe combo it with a fusion weapon if you really wanted to use it to attack with.
@@July305 I’m guessing those games are coded according to the OCG rules, as Rampart Blaster’s direct-attacking restriction, where the opponent must control no monsters to use it, was actually a change made in the TCG only.
Well At least with Dark Neos, I’m pretty sure it can negate its own effect. So it’s effect to return to the ED is negated and it can stay on the field. While this means you pretty much only have a 2500 atk beat stick that does nothing else, it’s the only Neos Contact Fusion to be able to stay on the field under its own power, which I guess makes up for it that tiny bit.
Okay but at that point why not just keep Neos and Dark Panther on the field at that point for more damage? You go -1 for something Neos could do WITHOUT fusing it.

my biggest beef is that they couldn't be summoned from the graveyard after all the fusion work they weren't even that broken that they needed that restriction
Konami has a bad habit of thinking every anime card/support is busted which explains why so much legacy support has so many unnecessary restrictions. (Eternal Soul for example)

Actually, it doesn’t “fall off”. Because it’s an ignition effect, you activate it targeting something, then at resolution it becomes a lingering effect (the effect is now slapped onto the game-state) affecting target, and that lingering effect will turn itself off when Neos is no longer face-up.
Or you could just keep regular Neos on the board for the same result. Unless your plan is to meme so hard that your opponent concedes out of intimidation.

@@Sillimant_ with the right setup that could go up to 1200 or more. Not to mention they can be used to fuse better monsters not on this list. I know there's better options but I still like this setup and it's not like it's my only setup.
A lot of Bubbleman related cards were pretty terrible. Imagine Konami were to print that terrible Equip Card that turns Bubbleman into a 2 tribute monster only... Unless they intend to make a card like that, they better make it work on any monster and give an additional effect
You have to remember that E-Heroes were around when there was no limit on the Fusion Deck so you can have one of each Fusion for situational circumstances.
if there was no limit, why not have 3 of each? limits the effect of fusion deck destruction cards(not that there were many), and lets you pull out multiples if you need to

Most hero fusion cards make us think they are all pretty good and usefull, but then we realize there are some that we never use and never wanted to use, because they're bad but we don't want to admit
I remember I traded my Secret Rare Elemental Hero Inferno to my brothers friend for the P4-02 red Dark Magician from Japan. Damn near robbed in broad daylight.
Someone needs tell Duel Links that they messed up because I use Rampart Blaster because it can attack directly. Grandmerge takes something out and Rampart Blaster just protects my LP while picking away at what my opponent has left. Inferno was in the manga, not the anime. Manga Jaden had an actual elemental/nature theme to his E-HERO deck. Inferno and Terra Firma were the only ones needing specific materials and the rest were the omni heroes. It was used to beat Alexis who used Ice Counters in the manga.
No ranpart blaster can atk directly with no restrictions. He got his info wrong even the ocg (no tcg) states no matter how many monsters are on thw field he is allowed attack
@@dantevega5103 no he can atk in atk position. He's allowed to atk directly if he is in def position. The effect does not state that there has to be monsters on the oponents field. Unless its a new ruling.
There are a few but nowhere near the amount of E Heroes Hopefully we get more in the future We did get some new ones recently like Dominance and Dangeorus and Dystopia
Plasma is the Flame Wingman counterpart in a way and is main deck. It was more of an Arc-V decision to embrace Fusions in D-Heroes. (Fusion Trap be darned.)
I wish duel links would give us more destiny hero fusions and vision hero adoration. And just where is elemental hero phoenix enforcer and shining phoenix enforcer? I just wanted to make a fun deck with sparkman fusions for Aster. What are they so afraid of? 😞

I wonder where you're getting these card images from. A lot of them look weird. For example, Dark Neos being a "Contact Fusion" monster, and being a white card? Mariner with hardly any text margin? I get mine from Fandom.
When you think about it, Necroid Shaman is actually more useful these days than it used to be, because you can use it to dig up hand traps. The most common ones all have nonexistent attack stats and do nothing if they're not in your hand (some are tuners, but that's about it) so you can just dredge them up and punch them for free damage. Also it can use roid support because archetypes are silly
That was my thoughts too. One for one can net you big advantage if you can bring out their worst monster and beat over it, though his common response is that only the last hundred life points matter. If it's their only monster, though, and you can set up your board it could make an OTK. I also don't agree with his top spot. Gaining 1000 only when battling a specific attribute is mediocre, especially if you're not fighting a water-heavy deck or have a card that forces attribute change, but to call it the worst?
@@kyuubinaruto17 See, I disagree with you there. That 1000 ATK buff is so situational. I mean, Water is not a particularly prevalent attribute, and if you have a monster that is actively worse than one of its fusion materials most of the time, is it not trash? Besides, it's got 2300 ATK. That's terrible for a level 8 and its lack of any protection or decent effects makes it a terrible boss monster that isn't worth it.
Remember when Necroid Shaman got used in the anti-trap decks in Duel Links because Sirus had a skill to search out a material for a -roid fusion monster so you could search out Wildheart with it? Good times.
I use to play Mariner in my hero deck back when I was 8. I didn't win many duels. Day 11: Of asking duel logs to make top ten archetype specific links.
I think it was a decent option before the Extra Deck got limited. Fusion monsters didn't need amazing effects and Konami thought they might become broken. I honestly wish there was a way making the classic heroes worthwhile
I think Konami should change "Effect" to "Summoning Condition" on all effect monsters that don't actually have any effect. Someone: Hey that's a cool looking card. What does it do? Me: It can only be Special Summoned by these conditions... Someone: Yeah, yeah, but what's its effect? Me: Looking pretty?
The only thing I really hate is how they made every single fusion hero monster (back then) that they cannot be special summoned except by fusion which is dumb considering the fact that its not even a boss monster.
Konami: Going -3 for a mediocre monster is just too powerful so we have to limit everyones ability to bring them out Also Konami: So we have this cool idea for an armed dragon retrain. We'll make him dark, make him stupidly easy to special summon, and one of the best targeted destruction effects in the game and make it unlimited use so long as you have cards to discard.
I'm still hoping that they remake the HERO archetype kinda like reboots in comics. You'd have all the old cards with cool new art and modern effects. I'm pretty sure it would sell pretty well too, though I'm an Elemental Heroes fan so I'm biased.
Having flashbacks to that one loaner deck duel in Duel links where you fight with a vanilla E-hero deck that only has Inferno as it's boss monster against Joey with a Gladiator beast deck..that took me over an hour to win
When I was playing the first Tag Force game for the PSP and using an Elemental Hero deck, I was initially excited by Rampart Blaster. But then I realized it didn't actually work as it said and pretty much never fusion summoned it after that. I would summon Mariner, Steam Healer and Necroid Shaman, because they all have their uses.
That's why Rampart Blaster is one of the cards that really needs a Retrain (or a Rewrite that eleminates that restriction) nowadays The only reason why they gave him that restriction is because Konami thought it would have made it OP back in the day (when the Format was more slow-paced and also there was not that many Monsters that could destroy it due to it's very high defense) if they kept this monster like it's Anime Counterpart. Specially if you added other cards that can boost his Attack into consideration But now, with the game being more faster-paced (in big part because of the Links) and with so many monsters that more than 2500 ATK, this restriction is now completely pointless because you want to end Duels faster
And what's even worse. This Restriction was only implemented in the TCG (aka Western) version of the card. The OCG (aka Asian) version does not have this restriction at all. So, this is a Screw-up from Konami's TCG Division
You know, if Mudballman had an additional effect involving destruction immunity (since it's supposed to be a wall), it still would've been not good, but playable. Or if it took a page out of Bubbleman's book and had an effect related to drawing cards it might actually be useful
It really has no reason to have an effect at all. Its defense is hardly unprecedented. Millennium Shield existed for years by that point and wasn't played AND was easier to get out AND has normal monster support. And its attack stats aren't really impressive either for the work you have to do to bring it out or the trash you have to add to your deck to do it. It literally could have been vanilla, allowing it to be cheated out, and it wouldn't have seen play. It could have been 1 level lower and been an instant fusion target, and if it saw play then ti'd probably only be for material purposes or something. I agree, it could have had a positive effect and been fine, but the fact that it could have been vanilla and still see little to no play, and certainly not problematic play, just makes it having a negative effect absolutely absurd. Its like they were on auto pilot and gave it that effect PURELY because all E hero fusions at the time had that as part of their card text without thinking "oh wait, this one doesnt need that", not that most/any of them needed that effect honestly. Sorry for the rant, seeing the particularly bad E.Heroes just ticks me off because their concept is so cool.
Inferno was a manga exclusive. Oh maybe do a list of Worst Anti-Support cards, those that are supposed to beat a certain kind of card but are really bad at doing so
Imagine if Necroid Shaman was a level 5 so we can use Instant Fusion, pop a monster then special summon 1 monster from your GY. That would be pretty sweet

18:00 Neither of those cards were in the anime, they were in the manga adaptation and as for the ice deck they were used against, I think that was asuka's. If you havent read the manga I suggest you do, the duels in them are typically portrayed more competently than the anime, especially for yu gi oh and yu gi oh gx.
That's because Duel Links (and also Master Duel) uses the OCG Rullings for it's cards instead of the TCG ones and it was Konami's TCG division who implemented the restriction because they thought (wrongly) that it would be OP back when it was released in the TCG, which had a much slower format back then and where there wasn't that many Monsters that could destroy it with due to it's high Defense
I think that was made with an editor. The word "Contact Fusion" appears in it's text which isn't listed in any of the fusions besides on 1 support card.
tbh, old e-heroes were fun to use back in the old days. I was a huge Jaden fan to the point I always played with Flame Wingman and Skyscraper. Plus, Jaden heroes have some dope designs
I think even before Prisma came out, people were using Necroid Shaman just because it was a Fusion using two cards you were already playing in HERO decks, as making a deck revolving around Wildheart, Blade Edge, Sparkman, and Necroshade worked really well in the GX era.
Divine Neos could easily have been a fantastic card. Send the Neos monsters from the Deck instead and give the card 3500 ATK instead with protection from card destruction or being spun back. The copying ability is fine to keep and if you dont want the attack boost then give it 3 or more NEOS monsters effects at the same time
Or they could have made it a little better by having it keep the ATK boost and the effect it copies so you could stack it's ATK boost effect and have it copy and keep multiple effects.
It’s hard to bring out Elemental Hero Marine Neos, you need to have aqua dolphin on the field, play NEX, summoning Marine Dolphin, also having Elemental Hero Neo on the field too. Contact Fusion Marine Dolphin and Neos for Elemental Hero Marine Neos, which just did cards 1 random card from your opponents hand, with no cost.
Inferno was actually only used in the Manga, but even so: its effect was mostly used to counter Alexis's Ice WATER deck. The effect was never used in the other appearances it made.
I think even bringing up instant fusion as a positive isn't worth it because it takes away their attack, which is what rampart blaster, steam healer and mariner's effect are about lol without the attack they have no effect
2:30 Ah, Dark Neos. Cool design (as is/was standard really) but boy was the Neos archetype underwhelming to me. I think my low opinion of both Cyberdark Impact and Power of the Duelist as new packs were two big contributions as to why I lost a lot of interest in Yu-Gi-Oh! during the GX era.
cdip is around the time i took my first break from yugioh. that set had pretty underwhelming holos where the best cards were mostly common, several of which did not become viable until later on.
Elemental Hero Inferno appeared in the manga. You can usually tell if a fusion's from the GX manga if it has either generic fusion material or the specific fusion material are not normal monsters. By the time the manga came out, normal monster E-heros had pretty much been phased out. Interestingly enough, the later manga version of Inferno had the effect to add a spell card from your grave to your hand when it's destroyed, which would make it so much better.
Pretty sure Rampart Blaster can attack over monsters in Duel Links. I usually use Grandmerge to inflict battle damage, then bring out Rampart Blaster to get a free lifepoint sniper, since it wouldn't be able to attack monsters anyway.
back when I tried to run an E. Hero deck when they first came out. I remember trying to run a lot of these fusions because I was still in Middle School and had no money and just the scraps of cards I had from packs I'd get once in a blue moon. The frustration that'd come from trying to make cards like Necroid Shaman work lol.
But it's true, unless you want to run like 10+ solemn cards in your deck, or if you're a masochist who thinks Winged dragon of Ra is actually the best among the 3 Egyptian god cards (in the TCG), gaining LP doesn't win the duel
Rampart blaster was actually a favorite of mine in early duel links. And yes you could attack directly even if your opponent did control monsters. It was good because it couldn't be sphere kuribohed and could bypass early staples like drowning mirror force and wall of disruption. Then since mostly people used battling effects you could make you opponent take damage when attacking it with cards like mirror wall and wall of disruption.
7:46 so fun fact for those of you who don’t recognize Steam Healer: Jaden only ever used this card ONCE in the season 1 duel against Dark Magician Girl. Until recently, I was convinced this card was either in an obscure one off episode, or he never used it. It was the former
I always find it funny that some of the "worst cards" in these videos actually saw use in some of the video games for farming credits. I remember one Gameboy game where life gain gave you credits, final countdown and win conditions like it also gave a boost, so I would load up a deck with those and brick walls like mudballman, and try to slow them down by filling their board with ojama tokens. I love the bonus points for using certain cards, like they are acknowledging that you're playing with a handicap by using them.
Its true. Unfortunately heroes have better synergy with other heroes than numbers. Numbers have very low synergy and support for the actual archetype. But they can connect to other archetypes
@@rushalias8511 i would argue to say that numbers aren't worse than heros yes heros are better than numbers in other aspects and ways i cant count but there are 3 ways numbers are better 1. Numbers are very generic most of the time and can be used in almost every deck 2. Heros are good but mostly "HERO" archtype specific most of the time you will only see HERO cards in HERO archetype decks i mean when was the last time you've seen a HERO monster in a Spyral, extra link, striker, orcust, or Salamangreat deck profile thou there bot in these. Deck profiles that doesn't mean there bad in any way shape or form but for a very long time these were meta relevant tier one decks and not all the time but most of it they had a Number card as there tech i mean Jessie kotton won an NAWCQ with a number card 3. The whole xyz mechanic has advantages that the fusion mechanic will never have and thats that is way more easier and generic to do i mean to fusion summon you need polymerization or another way to do it but to xyz summon you just need two monsters with the same level or another way to do it So in conclusion am i saying that numbers are better than heros no im just saying neither is better than the other but that they are both equal

But I mean numbers have very little specialized support for themselves There are roughly 4 or maybe five cards that directly support number monsters themselves. While I won't the fact that there generic xyz most of the time and that helps. A number only deck is very hard to pull of as you only really have 15 extra deck cards for the numbers and not many spells or traps or main deck monsters to support them. At best you have the utopia archetype. As well as few other cards but there aren't much specialized cards for numbers.
Kind of glad; I removed number 1 from my deck a week before I saw this video. This just helps solidify my choice. Decided to replace it with Nova Master.

You should've mentioned that the two times Jaden lost (to Zane, and then to Kaibaman), were also the 2 duels where he played Mudballman.
To add salt to the wound another time he summoned Mudballman was to get off the effect of Clay Wrap in his duel with Jinzo.
To be fair, he also won 2 Duels with Mudballman. First against Psycho Shocker and the second against Trueman.

Konami has a bad habit of thinking every anime card/support is busted which explains why so much legacy support has so many unnecessary restrictions. (Eternal Soul for example)
Jaden's og HERO Fusions weren't that good even back then.

I can picture it now: "I'll use Dark Neos's effect to negate his own effect, thus turning a 2500 Attack monster with a pretty lackluster effect that puts itself back into the deck at the end phase... into a 2500 Attack monster with no effect!"

Because it’s an ignition effect, you activate it targeting something, then at resolution it becomes a lingering effect (the effect is now slapped onto the game-state) affecting target, and that lingering effect will turn itself off when Neos is no longer face-up.

Or you could just keep regular Neos on the board for the same result. Unless your plan is to meme so hard that your opponent concedes out of intimidation.

Blazeman was the cover card, Inferno was just the only fusion monster included.
I got that for the good fusion materials. Scorch lady's burn effect is pretty decent in dual links.

A lot of Bubbleman related cards were pretty terrible. Imagine Konami were to print that terrible Equip Card that turns Bubbleman into a 2 tribute monster only...

You have to remember that E-Heroes were around when there was no limit on the Fusion Deck so you can have one of each Fusion for situational circumstances.
if there was no limit, why not have 3 of each? limits the effect of fusion deck destruction cards(not that there were many), and lets you pull out multiples if you need to

Someone needs tell Duel Links that they messed up because I use Rampart Blaster because it can attack directly. Grandmerge takes something out and Rampart Blaster just protects my LP while picking away at what my opponent has left.
Inferno was in the manga, not the anime. Manga Jaden had an actual elemental/nature theme to his E-HERO deck. Inferno and Terra Firma were the only ones needing specific materials and the rest were the omni heroes. It was used to beat Alexis who used Ice Counters in the manga.

I dont know why he's using them, but the cards he's using seem to be fan-made one and they are listing the anime effects, rather than the TCG effects.

When you think about it, Necroid Shaman is actually more useful these days than it used to be, because you can use it to dig up hand traps. The most common ones all have nonexistent attack stats and do nothing if they're not in your hand (some are tuners, but that's about it) so you can just dredge them up and punch them for free damage.
Also it can use roid support because archetypes are silly

That was my thoughts too. One for one can net you big advantage if you can bring out their worst monster and beat over it, though his common response is that only the last hundred life points matter. If it's their only monster, though, and you can set up your board it could make an OTK.
I also don't agree with his top spot. Gaining 1000 only when battling a specific attribute is mediocre, especially if you're not fighting a water-heavy deck or have a card that forces attribute change, but to call it the worst?

I mean, Water is not a particularly prevalent attribute, and if you have a monster that is actively worse than one of its fusion materials most of the time, is it not trash? Besides, it's got 2300 ATK. That's terrible for a level 8 and its lack of any protection or decent effects makes it a terrible boss monster that isn't worth it.
I'm seeing a pattern where some of the Fusion Hero Monsters have to rely on Fusion Equipment, or Power Guardian to make it strong (or keep it alive).

The only thing I really hate is how they made every single fusion hero monster (back then) that they cannot be special summoned except by fusion which is dumb considering the fact that its not even a boss monster.
Konami: Going -3 for a mediocre monster is just too powerful so we have to limit everyones ability to bring them out
Also Konami: So we have this cool idea for an armed dragon retrain. We'll make him dark, make him stupidly easy to special summon, and one of the best targeted destruction effects in the game and make it unlimited use so long as you have cards to discard.

Having flashbacks to that one loaner deck duel in Duel links where you fight with a vanilla E-hero deck that only has Inferno as it's boss monster against Joey with a Gladiator beast deck..that took me over an hour to win
When I was playing the first Tag Force game for the PSP and using an Elemental Hero deck, I was initially excited by Rampart Blaster. But then I realized it didn't actually work as it said and pretty much never fusion summoned it after that. I would summon Mariner, Steam Healer and Necroid Shaman, because they all have their uses.
That's why Rampart Blaster is one of the cards that really needs a Retrain (or a Rewrite that eleminates that restriction) nowadays
The only reason why they gave him that restriction is because Konami thought it would have made it OP back in the day (when the Format was more slow-paced and also there was not that many Monsters that could destroy it due to it's very high defense) if they kept this monster like it's Anime Counterpart. Specially if you added other cards that can boost his Attack into consideration
But now, with the game being more faster-paced (in big part because of the Links) and with so many monsters that more than 2500 ATK, this restriction is now completely pointless because you want to end Duels faster
And what's even worse. This Restriction was only implemented in the TCG (aka Western) version of the card. The OCG (aka Asian) version does not have this restriction at all. So, this is a Screw-up from Konami's TCG Division
one of my favorite play that i used when playing was to use mask change on absolute zero for acid... instant board wipe if the oponent can't answer
You know, if Mudballman had an additional effect involving destruction immunity (since it's supposed to be a wall), it still would've been not good, but playable. Or if it took a page out of Bubbleman's book and had an effect related to drawing cards it might actually be useful
It really has no reason to have an effect at all. Its defense is hardly unprecedented. Millennium Shield existed for years by that point and wasn't played AND was easier to get out AND has normal monster support. And its attack stats aren't really impressive either for the work you have to do to bring it out or the trash you have to add to your deck to do it.
It literally could have been vanilla, allowing it to be cheated out, and it wouldn't have seen play. It could have been 1 level lower and been an instant fusion target, and if it saw play then ti'd probably only be for material purposes or something.
I agree, it could have had a positive effect and been fine, but the fact that it could have been vanilla and still see little to no play, and certainly not problematic play, just makes it having a negative effect absolutely absurd. Its like they were on auto pilot and gave it that effect PURELY because all E hero fusions at the time had that as part of their card text without thinking "oh wait, this one doesnt need that", not that most/any of them needed that effect honestly.
Sorry for the rant, seeing the particularly bad E.Heroes just ticks me off because their concept is so cool.

18:00 Neither of those cards were in the anime, they were in the manga adaptation and as for the ice deck they were used against, I think that was asuka's. If you havent read the manga I suggest you do, the duels in them are typically portrayed more competently than the anime, especially for yu gi oh and yu gi oh gx.

That's because Duel Links (and also Master Duel) uses the OCG Rullings for it's cards instead of the TCG ones and it was Konami's TCG division who implemented the restriction because they thought (wrongly) that it would be OP back when it was released in the TCG, which had a much slower format back then and where there wasn't that many Monsters that could destroy it with due to it's high Defense

I think even before Prisma came out, people were using Necroid Shaman just because it was a Fusion using two cards you were already playing in HERO decks, as making a deck revolving around Wildheart, Blade Edge, Sparkman, and Necroshade worked really well in the GX era.
Divine Neos could easily have been a fantastic card. Send the Neos monsters from the Deck instead and give the card 3500 ATK instead with protection from card destruction or being spun back. The copying ability is fine to keep and if you dont want the attack boost then give it 3 or more NEOS monsters effects at the same time
Or at least make the "banish to gain 500 ATK and effect" not once per turn, I'm wasting precious resources to get that monster on the field

It’s hard to bring out Elemental Hero Marine Neos, you need to have aqua dolphin on the field, play NEX, summoning Marine Dolphin, also having Elemental Hero Neo on the field too. Contact Fusion Marine Dolphin and Neos for Elemental Hero Marine Neos, which just did cards 1 random card from your opponents hand, with no cost.
Inferno was actually only used in the Manga, but even so: its effect was mostly used to counter Alexis's Ice WATER deck. The effect was never used in the other appearances it made.
I think even bringing up instant fusion as a positive isn't worth it because it takes away their attack, which is what rampart blaster, steam healer and mariner's effect are about lol without the attack they have no effect

I think my low opinion of both Cyberdark Impact and Power of the Duelist as new packs were two big contributions as to why I lost a lot of interest in Yu-Gi-Oh! during the GX era.
cdip is around the time i took my first break from yugioh. that set had pretty underwhelming holos where the best cards were mostly common, several of which did not become viable until later on.

Elemental Hero Inferno appeared in the manga. You can usually tell if a fusion's from the GX manga if it has either generic fusion material or the specific fusion material are not normal monsters. By the time the manga came out, normal monster E-heros had pretty much been phased out. Interestingly enough, the later manga version of Inferno had the effect to add a spell card from your grave to your hand when it's destroyed, which would make it so much better.

Pretty sure Rampart Blaster can attack over monsters in Duel Links. I usually use Grandmerge to inflict battle damage, then bring out Rampart Blaster to get a free lifepoint sniper, since it wouldn't be able to attack monsters anyway.
back when I tried to run an E. Hero deck when they first came out. I remember trying to run a lot of these fusions because I was still in Middle School and had no money and just the scraps of cards I had from packs I'd get once in a blue moon.

Rampart blaster was actually a favorite of mine in early duel links. And yes you could attack directly even if your opponent did control monsters. It was good because it couldn't be sphere kuribohed and could bypass early staples like drowning mirror force and wall of disruption. Then since mostly people used battling effects you could make you opponent take damage when attacking it with cards like mirror wall and wall of disruption.

I always find it funny that some of the "worst cards" in these videos actually saw use in some of the video games for farming credits. I remember one Gameboy game where life gain gave you credits, final countdown and win conditions like it also gave a boost, so I would load up a deck with those and brick walls like mudballman, and try to slow them down by filling their board with ojama tokens. I love the bonus points for using certain cards, like they are acknowledging that you're playing with a handicap by using them.

Numbers have very low synergy and support for the actual archetype. But they can connect to other archetypes

1. Numbers are very generic most of the time and can be used in almost every deck
2. Heros are good but mostly "HERO" archtype specific most of the time you will only see HERO cards in HERO archetype decks i mean when was the last time you've seen a HERO monster in a Spyral, extra link, striker, orcust, or Salamangreat deck profile thou there bot in these. Deck profiles that doesn't mean there bad in any way shape or form but for a very long time these were meta relevant tier one decks and not all the time but most of it they had a Number card as there tech i mean Jessie kotton won an NAWCQ with a number card
3. The whole xyz mechanic has advantages that the fusion mechanic will never have and thats that is way more easier and generic to do i mean to fusion summon you need polymerization or another way to do it but to xyz summon you just need two monsters with the same level or another way to do it
So in conclusion am i saying that numbers are better than heros no im just saying neither is better than the other but that they are both equal

There are roughly 4 or maybe five cards that directly support number monsters themselves.
While I won't the fact that there generic xyz most of the time and that helps.
A number only deck is very hard to pull of as you only really have 15 extra deck cards for the numbers and not many spells or traps or main deck monsters to support them.
At best you have the utopia archetype.
As well as few other cards but there aren't much specialized cards for numbers.

Kind of glad; I removed number 1 from my deck a week before I saw this video. This just helps solidify my choice. Decided to replace it with Nova Master.
