Rinse and repeat and all the good drift and rally cars are bought by the car community’s equivalent of a squatted truck guy….stance kids.

Alex, in Indonesia the condition is very poor, because a second-hand 360z can cost up to $150,000, the same price as the new 400z in Indonesia.
Here're some pricelists I have collected from webs
A new Miata RF costs up to $55,000
A second-hand Civic EG costs up to $25,000
A second-hand Lancer Evo IX costs up to $50,000
    A second-hand Impreza WRX STI 2002 also costs $50,000
    A second-hand RX-7 costs the same $50,000
    A second-hand R34 costs nearly a whopping $190,000

I got lucky and picked up a 1998 Volvo V70 for $600 this year. It's about as far from an enthusiast car as you can get from the factory, slow, NA, rolls like a ship, and it's an automatic. But it's one of the last "easy" manual swaps you can get from Volvo, there are suspension upgrades still available, from drop springs and firmer dampers all the way to track-ready coilovers... and that 5-cylinder engine sounds so good when you let it breathe.

Yes, car enthusiasts have it bad because everything is expensive. But I think that can be attributed to enthusiast cars themselves being hard sells no matter where you go. Why would a company develop a whole sports car for hundreds of millions to cater to a market that will only buy a handful of them? The best they can really do for us is soup up a pre-built normal car chassis if they want to see that money come back to them. It's why there even is a case for cars like the TRD Camry, Sentra NISMO, and M-Sport trims over full ///M models.
Bottom line, there's no money therefore the market shrinks. So if we really want the sports car market to bounce back, more people need to start buying them new.

Two main considerations, 1. The cars most of us looked up to when we were younger were to expensive for us to afford then, now we move into careers and make more money and many of us want our “high school” dream cars it creates competition for those cars driving prices up. 2. As cars depreciate over the years they become cheap enough that Chad decides he doesn’t like civics any more and wants to buy a $3k 150k mile mint IS300 and drift it, him and his buddies buy them and all the 240’s wreck them all and talk about how they “sent it” and with so many cars being destroyed the prices for clean ones skyrocketed…….🙄

I always compare my states marker to neighboring states and have noticed everything is usually a couple grand cheaper next door. It’s near impossible to find a v8 of any kind for a reasonable price. I’ve seen v6 catfish Camaros going for close to 10k with well over 100k miles. They’re good cars I’m sure but gone are the days of getting a cool fun first car for cheap.

In the era of TH-cam, social media, and other digital platforms, enthusiast cars have been overhyped and romanticized by content creators and enthusiasts so much to the point where the people who already own these cars believe they are sitting on gold, causing them to try and sell it at an outrageous price. To me, the best way to be a car enthusiast nowadays is to buy an old car that is not talked about enough (for good or bad reasons), and just let word of mouth do it's thing.

Click bait? At no point was the reason presented... Demand has gone up for various reasons including clout chasing, other's being that most new cars have outpaced the increase in wages and generally speaking they're overcomplicated and over engineered crap. The beauty of older cars is that they're simple enough for an enthusiast to maintain them plus are cheaper to maintain plus higher reliability. Hence why the demand focus is on older cars and hence why the cost has been going up.
