    I just want to drop by and say thank you! This video allowed me to confidently change me brakes for the first time. Your instructions were clear and precise. Then I saw the comment from Aubrey below and if she was 14 and could do it - then me too! I had to borrow some tools and purchase a couple, but in the end saved me a lot of money for a short investment of time and learning. Many thanks!

    Thanks for the vid- my wife just lost her job so I’m gonna do this break job and save a couple hundred bucks-even though we have a lifetime alignment and brake pad with Firestone-I’m gonna follow your video and clean and grease all of the calipers….. then I’ll have them check the brakes and do the alignment to Make sure I didn’t screw anything up.

    Great video, I am about to do my brakes for the first time on a 2020 pathfinder. I did notice though that you referenced the Newton meter for the torque specs. General Information page 5, lists white wrench as N.m (kg-m, ft-lb), black wrench N.m (kg-m, in-lb). Front bolts white wrench for all bolts, 17mm bolts 45.6 N.m (4.7 kg-m, 34 ft-lb), 22mm bolts there are two styles, bolt with flange 123 N.m (13 kg-m, 91 ft-lb), 22mm bolt with washers 144.5 N.m (15kg-m, 107 ft-lb). Rear white wrench for all bolts, 14mm bolts 43.15 N.m (4.4 kg-m, 32 ft-lb), 19mm bolts 84.3 N.m (8.6 kg-m, 62 ft-lb).

    Nice video however when looking at the torques for the bolts in the nissan manual they are in metric and need to be converted to foot pounds

    whats are the torqu specs for the calipers

  • @JohnnyHarbeson
    @JohnnyHarbeson ปีที่แล้ว +2

    are you sure about the torque spec on the 17mm because I was looking at the service diagram and it says 45.6 N-m (4.7kg-m, 34ft-lb)

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct about the ft-lb value. I misread the service manual. Thanks for mentioning it.

    Where did you get the bronze calipers? Did you paint them? Owned many pathfinders ('96 SE, '01 LE, '05 LE, '13SL which was my last one in 2015) many years ago. I moved since then to mustangs, but recently got a 2017 Pathfinder SL for my son and i am excited to be wrenching on an R52. I did the CVT service after seeing your videos.
    The rear caliper was seized and fronts i had to rebuild, so seeing your bronze calipers, i am wondering where you got them?

      I painted them. Here is the vid: th-cam.com/video/HPbwDluyiiE/w-d-xo.html

    Hey, I have a 2020 Pathfinder consuming gas like crazy, getiing 15 mpg. Also, when i fill up the tank the miles vary every time. Any clue what it could be?

      Maybe try fuel injector cleaner, or using supreme gas. Or check the pcv valve

    Changing the rotors wasn't really necessary. Was there any reason for changing them but you didn't talk about it in the video? I would rather keep the original ones on.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Whenever you change the brake pads, you either machine the old rotors so you have a new flat smooth surface for the brake pads to bed in, OR you replace the rotors. These days with rotors being relatively inexpensive, you should just replace them. Most automotive stores don't even offer rotor machine service anymore. If they do, it will cost you $20-$30 for the service. If you just throw new pads on these old rotors, you will have braking problems like brake vibration, or bad braking (very dangerous).

    Which cordless impact are you using ?

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's a Ryobi P261 18V impact. They have newer one with brushless motor. Works great and plenty of torque.
