Don't open the bleeder screw unless you're replacing the calipers and need to perform a system bleed. If the fluid system is sealed when you start and there is no dirty fluid in the reservoir, then how do you risk pushing dirty fluid back into the system? When this bleeder is open when you are compressing the pistons, you risk getting air into the system and causing issues. Her method may work but you don't always see or get the full story on why she opened the bleeder. Was it just to replace pads or was there some other issue? Videos are edited for time and to keep the instruction straight forward. Being a certified mechanic, I have replaced a lot of pads without opening the bleeder and have had zero issues. If you have to open the bleeder on the chance of pushing dirty fluid back into the system, then you most likely have dirty fluid already in the system and need to do a flush and fluid replacement. This is why the reservoir cap states to clean before removing to ensure no dirt enters the system. I have seen comments on this video and other video where the bleeder was opened while replacing pads and for whatever reason they introduced air into the system resulting in issues. Leave the dang bleeder closed folks.
You’re the first besides me I’ve seen not push the old fluid back into the system. Easy and thorough. Some don’t know the one person way to bleed brakes is open the bleeder and wait, and wait.
didn’t even show putting the pads back and those stupid springs. which is the whole reason i clicked on the video. should be called how to replace rotors only
Thank you for posting this very good video. I would like to add just a few comments if I may. I would make sure I change gloves when I touch the brake pads after applying the copper grease to them to avoid having grease on the pads, and I would add a mention to carefully bed the new rotors and pads after installation. There are many videos to explain the procedure.
If I made the mistake of ordering standard Duty instead of heavy duty for my 2013 XLT with a tow package, can I use them still ? I don't plan on Towing so that's not an issue
Can you replace HD brakes with standard brakes? I’ve seen tons of different stuff on it but no real answers… HD because the tow package but I never do any towing or any big hauling trips. Does it really matter?

Why did you open the bleeder screw, since there can’t be more fluid than was needed when the breaks were first new. ?

Love your video. One of the best I've seen
What size are these things? 325m or 352mm for the front that is? I got 20" wheels and 2019.
Couldn’t you just open the master cylinder and save yourself the headache of messing with fluid leaking out?
What is done with anti rattle springs compared to oem built in wing springs?
Great video! Also please note you put the inside pad on the outside and the outside pan on the inside. Thank you.
Excellent demonstration and agree with the entire process….

Is this the same for a 2021 base model ??
Thanks for video it was very helpful😊
50 year mechanic, never open the bleeder, just going to allow air in to the brake system .😮😮
Can you push the dual caliber back one by one, or is preferred to do both at the same time ? Cause I hear a lot of different things
Great, very detailed video!
What's the point of cleaning oil from the rotors if you just put the new pads in with greasy gloves?
I opened the bleeder and did it to much now is barely getting any brakes
Clean job 👏🏼
I can't be sure my mechanic does this work with the same attention to detail.
Absolutely excellent!
Great video thank you!!!!
Thanks for showing us how to put the springs on between the brake pads ... NOT
Great tutorial! Very informative. Hope I can get by without the torque wrench. Lol! Thanks!
Where's the 2020 and above video?!?!?!?!?
+Dustin Peterson We do not have a video for this repair right now, but we'll keep this request in mind for a future video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
