I like the thing you pointed out about the no guards when Shanks visited them. Its either theyre capable of defending themselves or Shanks is in cahoots with them.
@@superrunnerx1 It would be expected and unexpected at the same time. While shanks has a good head on his shoulders the guy is a bit shady since his secret meeting with the world government leaders despite being one of the most powerful opposition to their rule.
Shanks has a 4+ billion berry bounty and is able to visit the leaders of the world government without having his head served to them on a silver platter. They are OBVIOUSLY in cahoots and Shanks is very sus because of this fact.
The amount of "final bosses" this series is going to have is going to be overwhelming, we think things are crazy and over the top with Kaido and Big Mom right now, but this is going to be child's play compared to what's coming.
The scene where the gorosei ask for the light from imu has a lot of meaning...only three of them speak while two remain silent ...and when you go to chapter 908 to look at that scene, then the color of their coats are black while the ones who spoke are white, this could be some sort of sign from Oda to tell us that two of them are actually not in agreement with the system...
Also in manga chp 1037 at first when they show gorosei ( when they were discussing about robin and wano war) all five were present and the next panel ( when they were talking about that df ) we only see 3 of them the other two were not there probably the other 2 went to imusama to report the things
For months I've had the idea that the Gorosei follow Imu's orders only out of fear of Imu's true power. Perhaps they consider Imu an entity that can't possibly be beaten, and try their best to govern the world for the rights of the people without betraying / facing Imu's wrath.
Agreed. You see this in history where you have an especially evil person who can't simply be removed from government for various reasons so you have their closest advisors trying to mitigate their influence in subtle ways to prevent catastrophe. I have a feeling that Ohara was destroyed because the gorosei were afraid of how Im-sama would react and the consequences it would have for the world.
No the gorosei are not doing good for the people they are technically congress and AKAINU is president, if anything AKAINU might really want justice for humans that aren’t pirates that’s why he argues with them he don’t care cuz he knows they pull the strings that make the world a shit place
I thought we now knew that they're not the same gorosei from their dialogue in the zunisha chapter where they said that the world government had changed the name of a specific fruit
What if it was intentional to be revealed in the later part of the story. They actually knew what the original name and the changed name of that specific fruit but it wasn't yet the right time to be known in the current arc.
Call me crazy, but I don't think Luffy's purpose in the story is to be the one changing the world government. I fully believe that will be all done by dragon and the revolutionary army, and maybe kolby. But Luffy himself will not be the one to guide the world into a new form of rule, he has never once been interested in doing so. He has his own goal and that's ALL he cares to achieve, the other major figures around him are the ones to bring the world encompassing changes. Luffy will just be the catalyst to show that the world government isn't the right way, but not the one to offer a solution and new way of life.
You‘re not crazy at all! For me it‘s pretty obvious that Luffy won‘t play a real role in changing the government/building up the new era. He doesn‘t care at all about politics and like you said there are plenty of other people who actively want to change the current regime (revolutionaries, SWORD, maybe even some of the (people in the) kingdoms Luffy helped on the way (like Vivi). Luffy will be there to beat the bad guys and protect anyone presenting a threat to his friends, but that’s all.
Luffy just being the person to bring the World Gov down, not the one that reform the WG. Just like what he always did, he didnt choose riku to be the replacement of doffy, he only help to bring him down, and the people itself the one that should decide it.
Since luffy is nika and joyboy, he definitely will change the world government. Maybe not intentionally but he will 100% be the reason of the change. Plus, if they reach laugh tale and learn of the history and the void century, i think luffy will want to change the injustice he witnessed. Every Time luffy felt injustice he couldn´t tolerate he dealt with it. In every single arc. Even if its just "i want to beat up the gorosei and imu" he will do that and initiate the change.
Theory: There were more Celestial Dragons. I think that they disagreed with The Gorosei (perhaps a war) and were cast away. These Celestial Dragons' descendants will be marked down with the name "D". That's why the name is so feared by the WG and the Celestial Dragons.
I don't think so... I think the D is for the nobles or royals of the proud and powerful "great kingdom" or for the children of Joy Boy... Or both... And probably their real Name. A (bad) example: No King and nobles after the death of Queen Elizabeth, the UN said the Name Windsor isn't allowed for everyone after Harry... So His kid will have the name Archie W. Markle, because the Windsor want the Windsor still in the names, also the same for His brother.... To fit it for Joy Boy too... He had a harem and a lot of kids... Monkey D. Joy Jr. Gol D. Joy Jr. Portgas D. Joy Jr. [...]
I really think the reason Gorosei are so old, is because of the operation of the Ope Ope no mi. They have a massive price on it, and yeah, its strong, HOWEVER, Doflamingo mentioned the Ope being able to grant eternal life. When the gorosei had the knowledge of Ope's existence again, they were completely shocked, and wanted it.
@@MADMAX-hs2pr Well, as Ohara mentions, not everyone looks the same age, and as well as @jake the dog says, they couldve been made 100 years apart, or even less.
One thing that I find interesting by proxy of the Gorosei is the difference in power between Akainu and Shanks. Be it by battle experience, charisma, or something yet unrevealed. One is swatted away like a child throwing a tantrum, while the other gets the respect to sit and hold a discussion.
The way i imagine the political system at the end of the story is basically the same but without the WG. Luffy will eliminate it and then not care about what happens afterwards, like he usually does. It will be up to the people to create their own governements. Basically it will function similarly but without the overarching thraet of the world government and the nobles
This is the only way I see it playing out. Dragon himself has stated that the WG isn’t an inherently bad system, the problem is the celestial dragons and the absolute control they have over the entire world. Getting rid of the Gorosei, Imu, and the celestial dragons would leave the WG as arguably the most democratic government possible for this world considering geography with islands and all that
Would be interesting to look back on this video 5-6 years later to see how the theories worked out. Or Goda just blow all the fans minds by coming up with something completely unexpected.
One of the most intriguing aspects of Akainu is how loyal he is, and that he doesn’t act willynilly about decisions despite having the most offensively powerful devil fruit, being in one of the top positions in the world. If he has a breaking point in this regard or not, but his black and white views and being forced to be aware and interact with the grayer sections. As Big Mom reminded us how big a deal Roger’s speech was, and WB’s death causing another huge push in global piracy.
A little correction: We actually don't know the age of the Gorosei. So it's wrong to say: They didn't have aged since Ohara. Yes, they look the same. But what if they age just very slowly?
Thr Gorosei don't understand why the WG changed a certain devil fruit name. That means at the time that happens, they either hadn't born yet or were not high in rank enough yet.
yes thats right. gorosei are not 800 years old. maybe there not even immortal but they have way longer lifespan because of something. but not immortal. only imu is immortal.
First time I found myself actually looking forward to a youtuber post video. Crazy I wasn't subscribed before, you deserve every penny you can get from doing these services to One piece fans all over the world. Keep doing what you do, it is perfect!
I think a huge revelation that was given to us in chapter 1037, however it is wildy overlooked due to the appearence of zunesha, is the fact that the gorosei say "That fruit is only a legend now, even to us" And "Then why would the world goverment bother..." These 2 statements imply that the gorosei have not been alive or in charge of the world goverment since its formation. I think this should be thought of more as people looked into the whole zunesha thing ( which i think has been done in purpose i.e oda has taken attention away from the gorosei by using the whole zunesha thing as its a prettybig thing considering the mystery behind zunesha)
yes thats right. gorosei are not 800 years old. maybe there not even immortal but they have way longer lifespan because of something. but not immortal. only imu is immortal.
If what was covered in this video interests you. Highly recommend JJK, how it directly approaches huge social issues from death/euthanasia caused by overwork, over stress to how Japan’s political system works from the traditionalists what’s required to enter the world as a candidate by them & the younger generation getting unique candidates in such as Yasuhiko Funago and Eiko Kimura to the control of information of global crises. How much is metaphorical and how much is directly covered is so god damn well done.
I think a compelling part of them being powerful is the sword the Gandhi member holds. Based on the guard and handle, I think it's the Shodai Kitetsu, a supreme grade sword and a member of the legendary Kitetsu line. Not a sword for lesser men.
Yes I agree that's what I love about oda he is the type of a writer that makes hidden layers in the story that are visible and aren't in the same time without making the reader getting bored he is a master of story telling
I think that shanks is a celestial dragon i mean there is this theory that back in god valley when xebc tried to kill all of the tinrubi Roger stoped him when he saw exception in few of them and the theory goes that he could only save their child and raise him and the boy is shanks that's why singoke respects him and he can talk casually to the five elders
if he was a regular celestial dragon like the one luffy punched in sabaody he wouldn't have been traveling on a ship of pirates as a child, they would probably kill him cause they hate celestial dragons and he wouldn't just be allowed by his parents to go there i think he's Imu-sama, the figure the Gorosei bow down to
@@benitomussolini7340 I think something like sabos story like how he was from a rich family and he ran away and end up becoming a revolutionary army man
I think just like Doflamingo, Shanks also knows about the national treasure in Marijoa. Since Shanks is too powerful for the world government to eliminate, they then chose to be on equal terms with Shanks and follow his requests in exchange for him to keep the secrets that he knows.
One of the Gorosei definitely has a devil fruit that can slow down time, which can explain how they're barely aging and are not afraid of anything cuz one of them can easily slow down the attacker to a point where they look like they're not moving.
@@KFCReapzzx you know how Aokiji has the Hei Hei no Mi while Monet had the Yuki Yuki no Mi. So, one of the Gorosei might have a buffed version of the Noro Noro no Mi but with out the draw backs like having to aim it or time limit. It's like a buff or debuff that can alter specific things, like slowing down someones aging while not slowing them down completely, slowing down someones reaction speed, or even slowing down someones breathing which can cause them to suffocate, something that's just too op than can still be conquered with conquerers haki
what if the sword at the empty throne is the Joy Boy's Swords and every reincarnation have lost before during duel with Im and Luffy is the first one without sword. The last Joy Boy.
Because Luffy knows he can't really use a sword for fighting. He only uses it for asthetics. That's why his second in command is the best swordsman of the world to deal with this 💩.
I just want to say, we are all lucky to have found our way here. For most of us, circling back to the series as we got older and being mature enough to appreciate the many layers Oda has given the story since chapter one. Those that become fans after the series ends won't feel that 20 years of nostalgia the early chapters bring to us now, the feeling of wonder we have for the climax of the story. Experiencing Marineford years ago is going to affect how the weight of the final war for us, vs people that binge everything after the manga wraps. Imagine going right from Enis Lobby to the time skip in one sitting. Its not going to be the same.
I think the new ruler of the WG will be Vivi. It was said she descended from one of the original families that formed the WG. She has something that makes Imu want her dead. Plus, she is probably meeting up with Luffy in the near future. I think it would make sense for her to rule.
I dont think so. First Luffy doesnt give a .... about ruling and at the same time I dont think Luffy is the type to think that anyone should rule anything. People should be free.
Maybe they are not actually evil but are the ones preventing Im from destroying the world they fought him 800 years ago( their scars) and were defeated, gave up and enslaved themselves forever to act as a force of balance
"The world of One Piece is a dystopia." "A small circle rules over the world and brainwashes the people with propaganda." That's literally our real life world, no dystopia. Or you could say we live in a dystopia as well.
You could say we do. And luffy i literally a shounen anarchist not forcing his wil on anyone. Against people if they mistreat others, but he wont force anything on others.
I think Oda has this in mind, to paint the image to the subconscious of the new generations. The few families of wealth in this world are essentially the celestial dragons. We luckily don't quite have a world government yet. That's what NWO is suppose to be I presume. Friendship, with nothing to lose, will break the spell when all is lost.
@@mrbubbles6468 that’s completely different to forcing your will on to others and making them believe what you believe, luffy doesn’t force any one to believe what he believes he just fights who ever gets in his way or hurts his friends
@@ajam2918 that's my mini theory, maybe dragon knows the truth about how fucked up the WG is and that's why he would create a resistance to destroy it.
We also know the original 20 kings could fight since there statues on the stairs to the holly land have weapons. But why would only these 5 be the ones left?
@@galaxyvita2045 I mean, with the introduction of Toki, nothing is impossible, she was running away through time, from and back to wano and the whole drum island arc was filled with Cherryblossom/Wano references while Kureha sat in a Castle. imo we know nothing, but she looks too much like the others with her high age, I think Manu is wrong with a lot of this anyhow, since the talk about the changed DF pointed towards them not being as old/informed as it seemed, so Kureha once belonging to them isnt that unlikely to me
The idea that Gorosei are striving to maintain balance I think is with the most credit to it. Both Luffy and Blackbeard believe in absolute freedom but too much of said freedom can only cause destruction. And while Blackbeard most certainly will go above and beyond to destroy the system, I think Luffy (or somebody else) will probably be the one to find more balanced approach. Not as oppressive as the current world order but with enough restrictions to counter complete anarchy.
As we go through the story yeah, it's possible that Imu and the Gorosei mainly want to keep everything in balance. However, at the same time they seem to also want to keep everyone subjugated under the World Governments rule. And because of that, that's mainly why they want to get rid of Luffy and the Straw Hats because they have been disrupting that balance and even tearing it down piece by piece.
I can see the Gorosei actually wanting to keep peace up, because their actions and that they have to be in this gray zone of what is good and bad would not contradict that, because from their point of view they do what they find necessary to keep peace up. And another idea came to my mind while watching, what if the way the Gorosei and Imu are now reigning over the world was the way which Joy Boy did not like, and Joy Boy as he maybe was connected to Imu did get in a fight or arguement with Imu and their closest followers ( maybe the Gorosei ) about how they wanted to reach peace in the world and that is why they have gone their own ways after they did not come to an agreement. That would explain why they are against some things they see a big threat to them, because it does not fit in to how they want to continue handle all things to keep peace. Of course im only fantasiszing here, and i dont know how much of this how many thousands or millions of people have allready theorized, i actually just watch your theory videos, and maybe this text will never be read by anone. :D And as far as it goes for the kingdom which got annihilated in the void century, this is still all we know about it so far right? That it got destroyed by their enemies, when I'm remembering it correct at the moment. If this is still the up to date information, i thought maybe this kingdom was not the "good" one but the bad one, which got destroyed by Imu and her / his guys, which would lead back to my thought about how Joy Boy and Imu maybe could not agree on how they wanted to handle things, and had gone their seperate ways. And if Ruffy indeed is this man who has the same will as Joy Boy it would explain why the government sees such a threat in him, and they people with the D are enemy's of gods, because after Imu and followers destroying the bad guys in the past, they became the ruler of the world and handled it how they wanted to keep peace, and the family of D (including Joy Boy) are enemies of them because of their ideologies and how they do ot agree with the way the government handles things. Sorry for the wall of text, and i doubt Ohara will ever read this, but it actually was fun writing this. :D And i do not watch or read one piece theories, i just think about things by myself and sometimes as the story goes on i see if i was right or wrong. :D I only recently started to watch Ohara and his theories and have noot watched much so far, but i like what i see. :P
Noice theory Sparks some things in my mind...like what if Imu and JoyBoy were lovers soumds crazy but imagine Like what could've been their relationship?

i think its crazy how much flower symbolism is in one piece at important times and at the center of the mystery is our archeologist with the flower flower fruit XD
IM sama is related with Venus.. Venus tilt 177°.. Chapter 177 is in Volume 20.. In cover volume 20 its a Symbol of inverted Pentagram... ( check if u dnt believe ) Gorosei or Gobosei also means five pointed stars ( pentagram ) We knew that Oda always play with numbers and words....
finally some one who understand one piece :D, i heard that Oda's description of Whitebeared was due to his encounter of an old man in a bar he was a world war 2 veteran telling war stories while having his medical intravenous drip stand next to him, witch is exactly what Whitebeared used to have while sitting on his ship. that was odas inspiration of that character.
Assuming that the Goroseis are immortal, this could explain why they knew that the so called legendary devil fruit hasn't been awakened yet for centuries. It also seems sus to me on how they've been monitoring every df user of that legendary devil fruit. While in terms of their raw strength and power, I believe they could be on par with a yonko or less. Cause it would be kinda disappointing for me if they're the same weaklings as Celestial dragons. It wouldn't be exciting at all. Also, even if they hate legwork, I'm looking forward to see them in actual battle especially on the greatest battle ever recorded in One Piece history.
Ohara oda is also playing on the dark side of each of these figures that he used to create them, it’s a lot to explain but basically these guys had bad intentions behind good deeds. If you look into it a little deeper you’ll see why the goresi are based on good guys, that run an evil government

11:48 Personally, I think their designs are Oda being ironic like you mentioned. Take the Pacifista for instance -- they're essentially Terminators but their name is derived from pacifist, one who is nonviolent. Oda loves his word play, so why not be tongue-in-cheek with designs? The "freedom" the Gorosei provide is only for a very select few
Heard this theory before that they were celestial dragons who had the ope ope no mi immortality surgery done on them that's why they want it so much but I don't think so... Akainu himself called them the lapdogs of the celestial dragons so honestly I think they are former navy admirals who run the world government... That would also explain why they all are scarred up carry weapons and aren't scared to have meetings with pirates like shanks or when Lafitte sneaks in to speak with them
I'm assuming that Sakazuki, at the very least, has some suspicions about the power structure in the World Government. Bonney is, I think, working for him and infiltrated the Tenryuubito's quarters in search of evidence that there is a power above the Gorosei. Just the fact that she's alive seems telling. Neither Blackbeard who had captured her, nor Sakazuki who found her, killed her or imprisoned her. So some kind of deal must have been struck. There's also the question of whether the Gorosei and Imu are really the 'bad guys' at all. The ancient weapons are long gone, except for Poseidon anyway, and the government doesn't seem to know anything about them or Shirahoshi would have been taken for sure. So the ancient weapons were almost certainly created by or allied with the lost kingdom. It might be that, at the time, the World Government was the lesser of two evils, and just became this corrupt over time.
I think the most likely theory is that Bonney is a big name in the Sorbet kingdom. Maybe the queen and wife of former king Kuma, that's why Sakazuki was send personally to retrieve her when Blackbeard capture her and that's why she is still free.
@@Davidsalesbohrer I see the idea of her having a connection to Kuma like that. There's definitely something there. Maybe what happened in Maryjoa was that she was attempting her own rescue of Kuma and wound up messing up Sabo's plan. But I don't think the government is pulling any punches with her. Her wanted posters still read 'Dead or Alive' the last time we saw one, and I don't think Sakazuki would pull his punches just for a rogue royal. It's not like she's a Tenryuubito. I'm pretty confident that she and Sakazuki have some kind of agreement, though what and why I can't really guess.
I think they have a hidden power that can make their aging process slow or stop. And isn't it just a coincidence?Translation says sea in Japanese is Umi, and that mysterious person's name is Imu.
ohara has a theory about that. in marijoa people have longer lifespan. not immortal but way longer life. this why kings 800 years ago gave up their kingdom and power to the wg and imu.
I didn't think of One Piece like that, when you said it was actually a Dystopian set anime I never thought about it like that but it actually does fit the criteria! damn nice observation!
Did Ohara manage to SKIP the chapter where they had the conversation in which Zunesha was in the final panel? Bro that clearly shows that they have not been around that long because there was a world government before them. And the younger one seems to be the actual youngest one among the current 5. I don't need to watch the rest of this video if it seems to completely disregard that. At this point it really does seem like Ohara is just making videos for the sake of making videos even if it has no weight to it.
yea i thinks he s changing his editorial slant/line because of youtube's algorithme. It s a bit sad cause i liked his way of doing video but this mean nothing if he can't live with a decent revenue.
Nothing about that interaction rules out them being from the void century. Just because they never saw one particular devil fruit and it’s awakening in centuries doesn’t mean they couldn’t have possibly been around for all those centuries. The only real takeaway from that panel is that whatever devil fruit they’re talking about pre-dates them to some extent but that could just mean it pre-dates the void century as far as the legend of that fruit goes. Maybe it’s a legend only the gorosei are aware of for that specific reason.
@@devrolo facts the one piece fandom don’t know this, but the earliest time period in one piece is called the “age of heaven” nothing is known of this time period other than the fact that robin mentions it in skypiea. But considering all of this “gods” and “devils” stuff littered in one piece I kinda find the naming of this time period in particular to be a little sus. Sus in the way that it’s very important in some kinda way.
But the Gorosei on the last panels of 1037 describe the fruit they were talking about as, a "LEGEND even for us, that fruit hasn't awakened in centuries" which demonstrate that the current gorosei were not there during 800 years ago.
No. “Legend even for us, that hasn’t awakened in centuries” implies they’ve known about it. Because they say “it’s a legend even for us” but somehow have minimal information on what this fruit could be. They know of it’s existence through hear say and are aware it’s lurking in the world. The phrasing implies they are aware it exists but have never viewed the power for themselves. This at most just makes us further question how old are the gorosei? I don’t think this line disproves or proved they are or aren’t immortal.
I always thought it’d be interesting if Imu had A devil fruit that let them control water. The way I see it would be fitting if the person controlling the world has the ability to control the very thing keeping the various islands apart: water. In fact their name seems like a variation on Umi, The Japanese word for sea. I even came up with a name for the fruit: the Hito Hito no mi Model Sea Devil. Thoughts?
I have a feeling that the bald guy with the sword is the same one that trained Zoro! And that explains the look of the girl in the marine , his daughter. Faked death and forced her on an experiments or something .
it REALLY blows my mind trying to imagine how powerful Garp and Roger truly are/were. They literally took on all of the current world superpowers PLUS someone possibly even stronger. whitebeard, Kaido, Big Mom, Rocks, etc.aybe Garp really is the final boss of One Piece hahahahaha ORRRRRR what if Garp has a kind of "history repeating itself" moment and ends up taking on Akaino and maybe some smaller fodder all at once helping Luffy and Dragon. History repeating itself as in having a battle with a world Megapower to change the fate of the world.
I'm hoping Whitebeard betrayed Rocks and helped Garp and Roger fight otherwise Roger would have to be so stupidly strong to take on 3 future yonko, their captain plus more
Does anyone have any opinion about Kong? Will he be an enemy? He doesn't seem to have retired, and his muscles don't seem like age has caught up to him.
Why the five elders are always together? why not in pairs like each of them have a base around the world but choose marejoa as base, maybe because of their national treasure ? or maybe to protect something else important... there is soo much we don't know and I feel like this will take 10 more years to reveal
I don't think shanks meeting gorosei is him easing the way for luffy. I think it is actually his final attempt to stop blackbeard. In the first half of the story, the story climaxes into shanks warning whitebeard to the danger of blackbeard. I think shanks meeting the gorosei is the culmination of the same story thread. Now, instead of whitebeard, my theory is that shanks is warning the government on the danger of blackbeard. I think shanks wanted to stop blackbeard at all cost but unfortunately at this moment blackbeard has probably had become to strong. Not to mention, if shanks moves into blackbeard territory, the marine would get involved and thus break his 1v1 fight to a mexican standoff. All things considered, I think this is shanks last attempt to appeal for the case of removing blackbeard at all cost.

I am of the firm belief that the Gorosei with the sword is the OG Kitetsu who wields the Shodai Kitetsu blade and it's likely HE who was at one point the strongest swordsman in the world.

TBH i wish ohara stopped with these "dumb" theories that he's dishing out left and right that are clearly "what ifs" and not genuine theories and went back to character analysis ad that stuff. The Gorosei theory was already debunked in the manga so it makes no sense to call it a theory

I'd argue that the gorosei aren't that powerful in actuality, if they were then they wouldn't need a shield What they do seem to have is influence and intuition given that they are the ones operating the system and they likely knew Shanks wasn't there with hostile intent otherwise they'd have definitely panicked and called for guards, they might have even been in kahoots for a while
One of the recent chapters hinted that there was a world government before them that changed the name of a specific devil fruits which these elders aren’t even aware of.
One interesting detail about those historical figures the Gorosei are supposedly based off, is that all of them have controversial traits/legacies: - Gandhi freed India without war, but India was still economically subjected to England (besides, Gandhi himself spoused viciously racist views towards Black people, at least during his time in South Africa); - Marx developed (alongside Engels) an ideology to destroy class oppression, but that same ideology was used to justify very abusive regimes; - Lincoln led the US in the war against the pro-slavery Confederacy, but he himself spoke in favour of the belief that white people were superior. I don't know enough about Gorbachev or Itagaki, but maybe Oda basing the Gorosei on those people (if that really is the case; I still think the Gorosei are meant to represent certain national elites) is meant to say that even those who claim to fight for justice and peace can be deeply flawed themselves, and that because they've amassed so much personal power, those flaws end up impacting on the whole world. Maybe the Gorosei fought the Ancient Kingdom out of a belief that the Kingdom was going to destroy the world, and created the World Government as an attempt to make the planet safer and more just. But because they amassed so much power to themselves and the ruling class, all their system did was to become rotten to the core.
This was an awesome theory. I've been of a similar line of thought for a while as well, like what if the gorosei are suppressing the truth about the void century to actually protect the people of the world from some terrible truth that would be too world shattering for the average person to handle? I'm not saying they are in the right, I just think that they may have had good intentions to start with but they went astray and became increasingly tyrannical. Perhaps on some level they may even be protecting the world from Im-sama? Idk but Oda is way too good a writer for it all to be simply black and white. All I know for sure is that the end of one piece is going to be mind blowing.

For months I've had the idea that the Gorosei follow Imu's orders only out of fear of Imu's true power. Perhaps they consider Imu an entity that can't possibly be beaten, and try their best to govern the world for the rights of the people without betraying / facing Imu's wrath.
Right, it almost feels like they're concentrating Imu's focus so they don't simply go mad with power or simply throw the world in chaos.
I like this less evil interpretation of the Gorosei.
@@StrawhatStewie like MURICA
I thought we now knew that they're not the same gorosei from their dialogue in the zunisha chapter where they said that the world government had changed the name of a specific fruit
Same!
You are right and it completely rules out the theory.
Exactly
Unless they take turns. Maybe the hibernate. That way if one dies they have reserves.
Exactly. even if a government was formed by Dragon, Garp, Cobra, Neptune, etc..., Luffy will probably still be the most wanted man on earth.
I feel that what you're saying is wrong and at the same time I feel it might be right
Luffy just being the person to bring the World Gov down, not the one that reform the WG.

Monkey D. Joy Jr.
Gol D. Joy Jr.
Portgas D. Joy Jr.
[...]
Makes sense
I really think the reason Gorosei are so old, is because of the operation of the Ope Ope no mi. They have a massive price on it, and yeah, its strong, HOWEVER, Doflamingo mentioned the Ope being able to grant eternal life. When the gorosei had the knowledge of Ope's existence again, they were completely shocked, and wanted it.
Bro this is actually something.
But I think that the ope ope no mi can only be used once right ? So like only 1 of the five elders can be immortal..how tf they all got immortality?

One thing that I find interesting by proxy of the Gorosei is the difference in power between Akainu and Shanks. Be it by battle experience, charisma, or something yet unrevealed. One is swatted away like a child throwing a tantrum, while the other gets the respect to sit and hold a discussion.
The way i imagine the political system at the end of the story is basically the same but without the WG. Luffy will eliminate it and then not care about what happens afterwards, like he usually does. It will be up to the people to create their own governements. Basically it will function similarly but without the overarching thraet of the world government and the nobles
I guess revolutionary army will do something about it
so the most simple outcome lmao xd
I guess they woirk like an anarcho communal federation
And the reformed marine fraction will become something else
This is the only way I see it playing out. Dragon himself has stated that the WG isn’t an inherently bad system, the problem is the celestial dragons and the absolute control they have over the entire world. Getting rid of the Gorosei, Imu, and the celestial dragons would leave the WG as arguably the most democratic government possible for this world considering geography with islands and all that

Madara level i hope, that would be sick

I think a huge revelation that was given to us in chapter 1037, however it is wildy overlooked due to the appearence of zunesha, is the fact that the gorosei say
"That fruit is only a legend now, even to us"
And "Then why would the world goverment bother..."
These 2 statements imply that the gorosei have not been alive or in charge of the world goverment since its formation. I think this should be thought of more as people looked into the whole zunesha thing ( which i think has been done in purpose i.e oda has taken attention away from the gorosei by using the whole zunesha thing as its a prettybig thing considering the mystery behind zunesha)

Something about "now back to the dystopian oligarchy" had me 💀🤣
As we go through the story yeah, it's possible that Imu and the Gorosei mainly want to keep everything in balance. However, at the same time they seem to also want to keep everyone subjugated under the World Governments rule. And because of that, that's mainly why they want to get rid of Luffy and the Straw Hats because they have been disrupting that balance and even tearing it down piece by piece.
After watch this video, i cant wait for the final war, cant wait to knows Gorosei and Imu Powers and Dragon too, im really cant wait tbh.
And as far as it goes for the kingdom which got annihilated in the void century, this is still all we know about it so far right?

10:58 i love how the sub button turns from grey to red
Heard this theory before that they were celestial dragons who had the ope ope no mi immortality surgery done on them that's why they want it so much but I don't think so... Akainu himself called them the lapdogs of the celestial dragons so honestly I think they are former navy admirals who run the world government... That would also explain why they all are scarred up carry weapons and aren't scared to have meetings with pirates like shanks or when Lafitte sneaks in to speak with them
When kaido said " you will never change the world" I can't help but believe he was alluding to the gourusei
@@Davidsalesbohrer she was referred to as the Queen mother so Kuma would be her son.
Imu had posters of luffy, shirahoshi. After that 5elders asked for his instructions and luffy was ordered to kill.
Great video ohara!
He might have prepared the video long before the chapter was published
yea i thinks he s changing his editorial slant/line because of youtube's algorithme.
@dev rolo thank you. That's what I got from it. I was like damn. So, it even predates them.
It's not surprising at all how Ohara became one of the best anime youtubers in such a short span of time. Look at this outstanding production quality!
But the Gorosei on the last panels of 1037 describe the fruit they were talking about as, a "LEGEND even for us, that fruit hasn't awakened in centuries" which demonstrate that the current gorosei were not there during 800 years ago.
Correct.
The dystopian world of One Piece is pretty much the same dystopian world we live in.
Thoughts?
Im not sure if im right but i heard that Oda said hes not making a water devil fruit
Well it does as Greenbull hinted it himself in the 1054 ep. Of the manga.
This has been a running theory and name for a long time now 😅😅 I feel like you’re claiming credit for others theories
I have a feeling that the bald guy with the sword is the same one that trained Zoro! And that explains the look of the girl in the marine , his daughter. Faked death and forced her on an experiments or something .
When shanks said "I need to talk to you about a certain pirate " imagine he meant luffy and his devil fruit
Or maybe about the lurking legend
Or black beard
@@Glitch-lk6sh yh but wouldn't that be too obvious
@@karun3340 I mean It still could be
The dark and complex political foundation which oda uses in his stories are one of the few things I like about the anime .❤️
it REALLY blows my mind trying to imagine how powerful Garp and Roger truly are/were.
I'm hoping Whitebeard betrayed Rocks and helped Garp and Roger fight otherwise Roger would have to be so stupidly strong to take on 3 future yonko, their captain plus more
What if the reason Imu is the actual personification of the Sea's or something like that.
I mean Imu in reverse is Umi which means sea/ocean.
Nope. In Japanese writing it is u - mi. Reversing this will be mi u.
Does anyone have any opinion about Kong? Will he be an enemy? He doesn't seem to have retired, and his muscles don't seem like age has caught up to him.
He probably will be an enemy, considering that he's a head of world government powers
My guys been on a roll since the new year 💪🏾
Why the five elders are always together? why not in pairs like each of them have a base around the world but choose marejoa as base, maybe because of their national treasure ? or maybe to protect something else important... there is soo much we don't know and I feel like this will take 10 more years to reveal
These titles man, they’re ENTICING
All things considered, I think this is shanks last attempt to appeal for the case of removing blackbeard at all cost.
the blond one is actually more look like young joseph stalin than young abraham lincolin

I am of the firm belief that the Gorosei with the sword is the OG Kitetsu who wields the Shodai Kitetsu blade and it's likely HE who was at one point the strongest swordsman in the world.
4:33 For some reason i loved how he pronounced Oda
We’ve always assumed the world government to be evil since its inception during the void century, but what if that wasn’t the case? What if the lost kingdom was the evil one, and the gorosei led the fight against it… and lost? What if it still exists today, hidden from the world, and the gorosei are forced to obey its commands through Imu?
Such content! I subscribed, obviously
TBH i wish ohara stopped with these "dumb" theories that he's dishing out left and right that are clearly "what ifs" and not genuine theories and went back to character analysis ad that stuff.
The Gorosei theory was already debunked in the manga so it makes no sense to call it a theory
There is literally nothing debunking this
@@Chips-Tube-ce3gb except there was a previous WG before them?

You have done a very nice job here, very good video! Keep up!
I'd argue that the gorosei aren't that powerful in actuality, if they were then they wouldn't need a shield
What they do seem to have is influence and intuition given that they are the ones operating the system and they likely knew Shanks wasn't there with hostile intent otherwise they'd have definitely panicked and called for guards, they might have even been in kahoots for a while
You have a point but to be able to remain calm and talk down to both akainu and Shanks is a sign of a strong will. so their haki might be up there.
Yeah it would be insane if the 800 year old guys didn't have haki
One of the recent chapters hinted that there was a world government before them that changed the name of a specific devil fruits which these elders aren’t even aware of.
One interesting detail about those historical figures the Gorosei are supposedly based off, is that all of them have controversial traits/legacies:
- Gandhi freed India without war, but India was still economically subjected to England (besides, Gandhi himself spoused viciously racist views towards Black people, at least during his time in South Africa);
- Marx developed (alongside Engels) an ideology to destroy class oppression, but that same ideology was used to justify very abusive regimes;
- Lincoln led the US in the war against the pro-slavery Confederacy, but he himself spoke in favour of the belief that white people were superior.
But because they amassed so much power to themselves and the ruling class, all their system did was to become rotten to the core.
i wasn't expecting that the five stars are inspired from those famous historical men
This was an awesome theory. All I know for sure is that the end of one piece is going to be mind blowing.
not mindblowing...its simple like a glass of water, and that will make it genius cause everybody thinking its some crazy twisted spinning thing xD
