I love the fact that it’s all coming back to the start where Luffy’s creativity really shines in a fight. These days, Luffy’s fighting style mostly focuses on Haki and less on devil fruit. So in this chapter, I was happy to see that Oda-sensei is really bringing us back to the Luffy who made us laugh with his crazy techniques in the early days of One Piece.
Yeah when haki was introduced i hated the ideea of Luffy mastering it, i knew he needed to, but it would kill all of the spark in his fighting style, it's not about creativity anymore, it's just about who has the stronger haki, which is boring to a degree. But awakenings really turn the tables around, especially those of law and kid who can bypass even the strongest types of haki
This chapter made me think about how devil fruits may have originated so my theory if we can call it that is like this. If DF abilities can come from the original abilities of Beings or entities that lived in the past like Nika, what if all DF abilities come from different entities/beings not just the Zoans. Like what if their were some people/beings with unique abilities in the distant past with different abilities such as fire, ice...(logia) or the ability to change their bodies or produce a phenomenon (paramecia) and that those people passed on their abilities in Devil fruits and only through the awakening the user can tap to the real power of the original being/person possessing the ability. I mean if their was a person or an entity in the past called God Nika possessing these same powers that luffy have yet whitout having a DF since the ability is named after them, then what if this can apply to all Devil fruits, what if people/beings/entities with unique abilities used to exist like Nika, found a way to pass on their inherent abilities through fruits for some reason ( probably because they knew they were gonna die by the WG or something and decided to give a fighting change to future generations by making sure at least their abilities and powers get passed on) and hence the birth of devil fruit powers.
After a few friends of mine shared some stuff, I strongly believe that "Nika" is based on the brazilian protector of the forests "Curupira". Nika silhouette resembles his a lot, even the fire on his head and rags he wears. And since Oda said Luffy would be Brazillian, that makes a lot of sense.
There’s a myth in Okinawa which said that “Nika” is a fairy creature that live in Rubber tree. And you know what, this fairy creature scared of Octopus. And they believe Octopus here is Black beard, because octopus have 3 hearts and this is why BB can absorb so many devil fruits. Also, octopus’s eyes does not close when sleeping, and we all know BB doesn’t sleep so another metaphor here. And things like octopus have tentacles that suck and its black color ink also linked back to BB very well. -From Japanese forums
What I've found after researching the above and what the Japanese forums suspect it is: what they're talking about specifically is an individual that's part of the Kijimuna mythology. The Kijimuna are known to live in banyan trees (which to the above posters credit some Japanese tales describe as rubbery/leathery).
@@shridharbiju7370 Yeah banyan trees have been in some Okinawa tales regarded as ''rubbery/leathery," so that part doesn't raise alarm bells and Kijimuna had different names, unfortunately there are too many tales on Kijimuna for me a British fella' to go through and find one specifically named "Nika." That being said I do believe the Japanese OP community normally get these things correct and so far this entire arc has been blanketed by Okinawa mythos.
To quote what I’ve said to my friend, If Luffy’s only power was a body made of rubber, he’d be dead a few times over, but anyone else with this power wouldn’t be anywhere near as strong. I’d say it’s 1/4 the fruit and 3/4 Luffy’s just that tough
Here's what gets me too, defense-wise now it makes sense how durable Luffy is, how he's managed to survive so many of his battles, because Zoans have mad durability.
Actually Luffy being literally Sun is deeply connected with the Blackbeard - when Oda drew him as a child he was crying watching the Moon. This and Blackbeard not being able to sleep at all does mean that in the end of their fight it will be Luffy(literally Sun) who will acomplish Blackbeard's dream of sleep at least once by Blackbeard dying being defeated
I just realized this makes the ”nothing happened scene” much more impressive by zoro because he took on all the pain that this devil fruit probably brings + luffys insane stamina and determination. Zoro got shown really what it takes for luffy to win all of these fights he takes
When it comes to Luffy's toon powers, the entire world of one piece seems to run to a degree on cartoon logic. Since his zoan fruit might be tied to some kind of godhood it could be that's the part of the world he has domain over. Kind of furthering the idea maybe the reason the world is as cartoony as it is was because of joyboy and his use of the nika nika, altering the laws of reality of the world itself. Loosening the laws of physics and creating a world that responds to child like expectation. In essence creating a fantasy world where everyone's dreams could come true which ties in strongly to one pieces themes of liberation and dreams. Tying it back to the idea of a wisdom god maybe the powers don't create a 'toon' world but a world governed by the wisdom or expectations of a child or child like mentality. Luffy always seems to respond to the world as how he believes it should work rather then how it does. Maybe that attitude is reflected in this ability. This might be why the world government is so scared of it, because it could upend the very fabric of reality on which their rule is based. I could be way off and this post will probably get buried but I liked the idea and wanted to get it down somewhere.
About the Smiles, I think you kinda missing the fact that they’re all failed experiments to reproduce the ZOAN NIKA FRUIT!! That’s why they’re all zoans and that’s why the failed effect is not being able tô stop laughing, JUST LIKE LUFFY IN HIS FORM!! He wanted to reproduce his fruit, and then TO DIE, so he could become joyboy. That’s why he said luffy couldnt be joyboy when he defeated him for the second time. Kaido was built around this since the begging and we couldn’t even know! Oda is such a genius
thanks for this analysis, I originally thought that kaido just wanted to become joyboy by forcing other people to laugh all the time with the fruit but it being failed attempts of recreating luffy's fruit makes more sense
I think when the 5 elders mention "the most ridiculous power" I think it is in the sense of how cartooney it looks like. How ridiculously abstract and unpredictable it can be. Not as much as in the sense of immense power. Its still a very strong fruit, but I think there's other with stronger quirks
I think they indeed mean it is literally the greatest power in the world. As of now it sounds like if Luffys imagination is up to the task, he can come up with basically any power.
It makes sense that Shanks never intended for the DF to be eaten by Luffy. The fruit is hidden, but since the fruit has its own will, it showed itself to Luffy and became eaten
Also Shanks probably told luffy in some way or form that the fruit is more than it seems. Because why would luffy try so desparetely to join shanks crew, just to tell them off when he had eaten the fruit.
Oda never thought back then that this is not the rubber fruit he changed it latter in the story but when he started one piece he wouldn't want it to last longer than a few years
One point that everyone I've seen miss since this chapter dropped is how this affects the Blackbeard theories. We all thought Teach was going for the 3 strongest fruits of each type, and now we learn that Luffy might have the strongest Zoan, not Kaido.
Luffys fruit is not the most powerful zoan.. It is the most ridiculous. That being said Kaido is the most powerful creature and although this implies he has the strongest zoan we must remember that there may be even more powerful unknown or hidden fruits. I say Kraken.....or Cerberus...
00:38 - the Elders said it was "the most ridiculous" fruit. At first I thought they meant it's the most powerful, but after seeing his powers, they clearly meant it's literally ridiculous. Also love that Luffy has become a literal "rubber" hose animation.
@@vihan3423 exactly Luffy can literally do anything he wants (probably as long as he has the power to manifest it) it's goofy for sure but it's completely flexible he can mold, adapt & counter anything. I can already see Kaido trying to punch luffy and just hitting himself in the bounce off.
There’s something artful about it all…Luffy had one of the strongest fruits, but never knew, and only used it’s base aspect…and he used that aspect, he strengthened it, and with it, climbed to the renown worthy of Worldwide attention! All this! Alabasta, Skypeia, Water 7, Enies Lobby, Thrillerbark, Sabaody, Impel Down, Marineford, Fishman Island, Punk Hazard, Dressrosa, Zou, Wholecake Island, and Wano! Defeating Warlord after Warlord, saving island after island! All with only the basic part of his fruit, and his determination! There’s something so utterly epic about this! After all this time! And really makes one realize, that he, now in Onigashima, is going to become an absolute powerhouse worthy of Godhood!
That's ligit what iv been thinking and very well might be why neither shanks or raylie told Luffy about it's true purpose if they do know. He might not have gotten nearly as strong.
No, actually revealing that Luffy being Sun God at Oni Gashima is absolutely detestable. Nika reversed is Ah Kin, the Mayan civilization of ancient america. There are these extremists from Japan saying that Japanese crossed continent to start civilization in America. Fuking Oda even parallels the cursed from Adam and Eve story with cursed Katana craftsmanship from Japan. Why had to be Wano to reveal this? I highly suspect the Sun here represents the rising Sun flag. He's also saying the Sun God is the light bringer. Lucifer (Luffy) the Devil (D.) the sworn enemy of gods. Luffy Brazilian my ass. He is descendant of Japanese that crossed continent in the extremist beliefs. Nice try, but he can't fool me.
@@beasthundred4709 idk though, even that is sort of fitting! The Marines do see Pirates as Devils and the World Nobles as Gods! I was always expecting Luffy to be considered some Devil when he became pirate king! Well to the government anyway because looking at it from a Nobles perspective he is! In most instances pirates are the bad guys in real life!
It’s also interesting how the fruit was in a box that had a lock. I don’t think shank’s crew would have any reason really to open the box. Maybe it was opened somehow by the fruit itself. It chose Luffy
I thought this too cuz he wasn't able to see future luffy eating the fruit with his observation haki and as gorosei quoted "*zoan fruits have a mind of their own*".
They asked Luffy when he turned into rubber if he had eaten the fruit lucky roo asked him showing a drawing and explained that fruit grants rubber properties they wouldn't have known it without opening it
Finally, luffy's red attacks make perfect sense, wonder how long oda has had this one planned out. Or if it was just a coincidence that happened to work out down the line
@@aliciaward1185 that doesn't mean it was planned since then. We didn't know that was Nika until recently. Oda could've just gone back and used the symbology to connect it
To think that the Karate fighter with a flamed head resembles Luffy of now so much is funny af. Oda literally threw it in our faces, especially with Hyogoro's statement that Luffy looks like Nika when he turns gear 4
"They're supposedly only limited by their imagination" I believe that's the biggest reason for the toon like eyes etc. I feel like his abilities are almost limitless right now, especially with how luffy's personality has always been it's even further heightened now. He's not like before where he always gets serious in the heat of battle, right now he's just enjoying himself and having fun. It's crazy I was always curious as to why his personality is like that! Almost like he's completely wild and free in this mode.
Limited only by imagination makes me think he is a cartoon character atm which goes along with the art style of one piece being cartoony compared to other anime. Ripping up the ground making it rubber and bouncing back kiados fire breath is very much a cartoon move. Makes me think of Popeye
@@andyramirez5967 Nah bro, Luffy Toon is a damn masterstroke flourish of Oda. Dude always makes us cry because of sentimentality, and now he'a calling up the animation god of nostalgia: "Looney Tunes".
Man it wouldn't be that interesting at all, when he uses rumble ball power up. It will destroy the original power of luffy awakened df. And it would be not his original power, just temporary buff, like in the thriller bark arc. That's why many people skipped that arc. Bcoz there was no development for luffy in that arc.
@@arpita.111 well at least I didn't skip it. Who the heck skips a canon arc? And I've always wanted at least kaido to eat a rumble ball. Imagine kaido's monster point.
@@AJJr-hc5lz the way he transforms isn’t like any traditional zoan or even mythical zoan we’ve seen. He could have untapped into forms that his gears are replicating. right now he’s using a combination of air and haki (aka muscle balloon) instead of an actual devil fruit based transformations for every form but his awakening. As the panel said, he’s only limited to his imagination. So their could be some crazy shit he’s never tapped into because he’s always had the restriction of thinking he’s only rubber. Rumble balls could potentially bring those out.
Luffy's fire powers for me come from his bond with Ace. It's a poetic way to show how Luffy has accepted his brother's loss and he has achieved inner peace. The fire powers are a great way to show that Ace is and will always be alive through Luffy and Luffy himself has become more powerful by accepting and overcoming his brother's loss. I really hope this is what Oda was thinking too cause honestly it makes perfect sense and it's a great, symbolic way to handle loss and a brothers' bond.
meanwhile i suspect that the fire power also comes from the nika fruit. Luffy imagined this power so much that he could control it. Possibly if he continues to train his new powers, he might also be able to use other elements or something else. i mean the gorosei said, this power is ridiculous... so that what i thought right now, we will see what oda has in mind!
Luffy is like the purest child we have in ourselves, and this quality grows exponentially with his power as well. This is one of the things that make this series so unique and loved. Much love to Oda, more than ever 🙌🏻❤️
The gorosei say that “the fruit is only limited by the users imagination” Because of this, I like to think that Luffy was subconsciously using this power with red hawk because of his love for his brother. Having innate sun powers could be part of it, but I think that’s the most beautiful interpretation
I absolutely adore Luffy having the Nika Nika no Mi especially in a philisophical sense. If Nika represents freedom and liberation, then Luffy truly is the perfect embodiment of that. Luffy lived a life of freedom, he experienced what it truly means in a sense to be free. He wasn't shackled by the sins of his father. He wasn't forced by his parents to turn into something he is not. Unlike almost every major character in One Piece we've been introduced to, Luffy has almost certainly had a better home life growing up. Yes you could make the argument his young life isn't exactly "nurturing", but it's these characters he grew up with that gave him his widest perspectives on life, it's what made Luffy into the person he is today. He saw the righteous end of justice from his Grandfather, but also got to experience the perspective of life from a bandit's as well. Luffy isn't a tragic character, but what makes him amazing is his actions come from his heart, not from a need to be idolized. He's selfless because that's the right thing to do. If Nika is the deification of primal humanity and it's will to be free, then the boy that got to experience just that might be the perfect vassal for it's will. Edit: Apologies my mistake it's not the "Nika Nika no Mi" it's the "Hito Hito no Mi Model: Nika" as pointed out by @MK DR I also wanted to add in the following thought too: I think it's amazingly consistent with Luffy's character too. Luffy is a very compassionate person, maybe not near as outwardly as Sanji for example, but he is always genuinely listening to a person. For as much as the story wants to push the idea that Luffy leaves an imprint on the people that's around him, he also genuinely lets others leave an impact on himself too. He may not always remember your name, but if you're a good person he may remember something about you.
My theory is that the fire aspect comes from Luffys imagination. Cus when the Gorosei said that the power stretches as far as the imagination goes Luffy uses his "Red Hawk" the arc right after the timeskip (Fishman Island; to defeat the grey fish guy idk) where Ace died. The death being recent, Luffy calls upon power and thinks of Ace. He uses Red Hawk again when he fights with Yamato since Yamato reminded him of Ace again :x
I don't think so, its too op. In that logc that would mean if he wants to make an attack like "blue" hawk for example, it would be water base or something, which is too busted. I think its all he can think of, but still bound by rubber properties, like he could shape shift or produce a sword but still made of rubber. Now, going back to the fire there might be another explanation for that.
This chapter debunks the gear 2 lifespan theory, that is apart of his power. He thought of a way to get fast by using his imagination, just like fighting on that island while he was training his gear 4 forms where thought up by his imagination to adapt to survive on that island, I’m pretty sure if luffy thought of more ways to use gear 4 the possibilities can be endless. But oda is about to dive deep in that creative bag now that he can play with luffys awakening. Great job oda 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
What about being imune to enel's electricity? He never imagined that. He also is not made of rubber. It's takes on rubber like qualities. In combat. How does his body distinguish between combat and not combat when he's just standing there? Enel attacked luffy's body with lightning when Luffy was standing still.
@@crobeastness his imagination is limitd to only rubber abilities gorosei themselves said his rubber abilities can be used exponential so at base its rubber only at awakening u can utilise its true potential kinda like a passive ability of mythical zoan
Luffy can't literally do what ever he imagines. He's just made of rubber. 'limited by their imagination' is just expressing the way the rubber can move.
It really feels like Oda wants to point us to the power of yogi enlightenment with the optics of gear 5 luffy. It reminds me of the story about Adiyogi (the first yogi), who was believed to have a very strange body (7 to 8 feet tall) and who either danced around wildly or sat still for days on end without drinking, without sleeping, but with tears of joy running down his cheeks. The culture believes that by attaining unity (and thus control) over your physical, mental, emotional and energetical body, you will become a thoroughly joyous person ("joy boy"), attain the greatest-most freedom (which is what Luffy is all about), and become powerful without limit.
YES. I've been talking for years about luffy and the similarities with an enlighten being. He now went in an extreme joyful state, such as higher states of consciousness during meditation. One Piece is 100% related to the concept of spirituality on many levels (Your comment has 100% Sadhguru vives ;) )
So let's see, i never thought about this theory before any time but i have so much info on this topic. I am only gonna talk about it in brief. 1. There is a belief that people's lifespan is not about years but about the number of there breaths. Yogis could also stop their breaths So by stopping there breaths they could live for thousands of years. 2. there are three supreme gods in hindu mythology, one of them being shiva also known as adiyogi and god of distraction. 3. Shiva helps the pure souls who devote themselves to shiva and destroy the monsters who are threat to mankind. 4. And about the joy, shiva always smiles even in the worst situation. So this almost summarize your theory.
The adiyogi you are talking is one of the Supreme God of holy trinity in Hinduism "Shiv". He was the one who found meditation and yoga. That's why he was called adiyogi meaning the one who did yoga first in the whole universe.
I think both the “Going Merry” & “Thousand Sunny” are also referenced as to luffy turning into Joyboy. Also luffy/Joyboy being close to shirahoshi/Poseidon Thousand Sunny is the new Pluton.
Has no one mentioned yet that the shadow silhouette of Sun God Nika and Luffy during Skypeia and this awakenining is a *DEAD RINGER* for Kokopelli symbol. A shadow silhouette marching along prominently carrying an instrument. Kokopelli was a travelling trickster god, who bought joy and spring wherever he went. IDK if it's a coincidence, or maybe ancient cultures have many such silhouetted symbols in common; but it wouldn't surprise Mme if Oda was inspired by Kokopelli.
@TheSurivor’sSanctuary their alot of different story about kokopelli. I heard he would wander to different area and trade songs for older songs. And whoever listened to his music would bring them , prosperity and good luck.
Oda really just gave Luffy a power that lets him (Oda) do whatever he wants and I love it. Whatever he imagines will now be within the realm of possibilities for Luffy
also I'm sure he'll have to have the power to match some the things he imagines so he's still got room for growth but I mean Luffy is now unchained and that's just a recipe for awesome
but its like... there has to be limits. You can't just give luffy the power of Q from Star Trek basically. "I want to turn the planet into a pink donkey *Poff*" it doesn't make sense.
One thing I find really interesting is that in skypia where I think Nika was first introduced the main villain was obsessed with becoming a god and his natural counter the one person his devil fruit couldn’t affect was a basically a god in hiding all along. PEAK FICTION
Highly unlikely that Luffy’s powers will have anything to do with the Sun itself. I think “Sun God” is simply just a title, referring to the Dawn Joyboy brought. His powers will rather revolve around that “freedom” of his, that we have no idea how it works yet
Luffy's power actually is "the mask" (Jim Carrey) based on. Look at the smile, body looks like rubber, speed, zig zag moves, changing the body & the environment based on user imagination. Even the eyes effect when luffy startled, just like "the mask" (the eyes is popping out). I bet there are no boundaries in luffy's true power, just like "the mask". Even he can change the body of the opponent.
@@YataL what I said is about the power only, not the implications of the object/character. Just like "the mask" movie, the implications is depending on who's bearing the power. Just a tough though
@@MrTBSC That’s what it did for Jim Carrey’s personality, but the villain at the end became a lot more demonic. The mask amplified aspects of the wearer’s personality and imagination, IIRC.
@@MrTBSC that's the limitation put upon Luffy by his lack of knowledge. the fruit is said to give him the freedom to fight in any way he want, but Luffy doesn't know that. he still think he's the user of the gomu gomu no mi. but remember how Luffy was able to regenerate his teeth by drinking milk despite him and brook having completely different physiology? Luffy probably saw brook regenerate through milk and think "ah so that's how milk work", his fruit in turn, interpret that thought and made it real. so whenever Luffy drink milk, he regenerate his bones.
The “drums of liberation” have been sounding from the very beginning of one piece!! The どん onomatopoeia that Oda uses all the time is the sound of a drum! When learning taiko, どん is the name/sound of a quarter note. Luffy has been the warrior of liberation since the very beginning, always embodying the spirit of freedom and joy. So, of course the drums of liberation have been sounding since the beginning! (Also, his dream was to become the free-est man in the world, and his fruit is actually the freedom fruit!!)
according to who's who and the world government, smiling and making people smile is one of nika's trademarks. the fact that luffy also has these characteristics (that probably means the will of the previous owner is inherited by devilfruit-user’s) is nothing new, but kaido does that too - with the difference that he forces it out of fear through the SMILE. i'm curious about the context and the relation of kaido in terms of how he feels about nika and what made him who he is and will be.
I genuinely believe that One piece is a story of humanity.... if humanity went down the right path. With a true hero showing everyone that being loving and laughing will be the thing that will truly set the world free
Luffy really freed everyone in the crew. Zoro from prison; Nami from her burden; Usopp from his fear to follow his dad steps; Sanji from his guilty; Chopper from his sadness for being a monster; Nico Robin from the darkness; Frank from his guilty(2); Brook from his loneliness; and Jimbe from Big Mom (or from the burden of (almost) alone having to protect the fishmens)
Awakening Luffy's Devil Fruit could also be the reason why Shanks showed up at the Marine Fort back then. Shanks has been waiting for Luffy's fruit to awaken and Shanks figured it might already be since Luffy was there shortly before his death. If that's the case, there's a good chance Shanks will come to Wano after fighting Kaido as well.
It actually hasn't "awakened" yet We just now know it's true identity as a zoan fruit which opened these new abilities. It seems that luffy now is using the hybrid form so there's still the full form and it's awakening "monster form"
I think it's almost literally what the Gorosei said; he's basically achieved ultimate freedom. He can fight "however he likes". His "true power" is however deep the depths of his imagination can go.
Exactly...I believe his rubber is from wanting to be free. His power is his imagination once he is awaken. Not everyone has the imagination to use that fruit properly.
Zoan Types have a personality and will of their own. With that being said i dont think the fruit carried Joy Boys will rather the person who eats the fruit becomes Joy Boy and inherits the fruits will. So when Zanisha recognized joy boy it wasnt a matter of the former users will being present but the will of the fruit reawakening
I think something people are missing here is what the Gorosei mentioned when they made the reveal: The fruit is limited only by the users "imagination", even before awakening, with the awakening only further exarberating these effects. With that bit of knowledge, consider this: Luffy has had multiple times where he has made super nonsensical attacks that made most of us wonder how does it fit into his rubber set : I.e. gomu gomu baka, gomu gomu ufo, gomu gomu pin wheel, afro mode, shadow mode, and the Fire hawk. Luffy's powers are enhanced by his imagination. All of his gears are using his imagination to complete them. Luffy, being the idiot that he is, doesn't know that rubber wouldn't normally allow for his transformations, even using the suspension of disbelief that one piece employs. If you really deep dive into the other fruit abilities, there is almost always some form of logic following behind them that relates to them. Especially when they counter one another. And I think the biggest damning proof I can offer you is recently in the first half of the showdown where even Kaido himself states that rubber shouldn't be able to move like it did while luffy was using snakeman. This could be written off as some random statement, but you need to know that Kaido is fairly old and has been involved in tons of battles. He should definitely have the experience and knowledge necessary to come up with these conclusions, even with full knowledge of the fact the the DFs stretch the possibilities of their base. What does this mean for Gear 5? Well this ties heavily into his new cartoon like abilities. The power of rubber and imagination was always present since base, but it wasn't nearly as strong, which was why the world government likely didn't chase after luffy so heavily before, since the fruit hasn't awakened for 800 years, so there was little over arching harm based off of past experience with letting him roam around being small time. They of course still sent token forces after him, but it wasn't until he was close to awakening it that they really paid attention. Back to the point, since the power of imagination was "weak" then, it was only limited to his person, explaining why this manifested in all his forms and attacks, including fire hawk, which by all standards, shouldn't be possible for his specified set, but his DF made possible through liberal bending of rubber rules and using high speed vibration to make the flames. Now, that the fruit has been awakened, the power of rubber and imagination has been further boosted, meaning that the effects are amplified on his person, and affect his surroundings to about the same degree that the imagination power affected his body before awakening. This means that now he'll literally have the toon force abilities, and makes all the sense. Thank you for coming to my TEd Talk
@@Kunumbah1 what I’m hoping for. I can see this being a broken roger rabbit style power up. Loved when he grabbed kaido and you see his eyes leave his head in a way more cartoony style haha
So the way I see it, is that Luffy was never just rubber, it was just a side affect of the fruit. It seems like the "God" the fruit is based on has a cartoony "LOKI-esque" power to it. If anyone has seen the movie The Mask you'll know what I mean. Everything Luffy has done until now has been things that a Loony Tunes character would do, i.e. inflating their arms to ridiculous size, having a rubber-like body, etc.
I just realised how we should have seen this coming in the Wano arc since Wano is Oda's representation of Japan - "The Land of the Rising Sun" *MINDBLOWN* Love your videos btw! Looking forward to the next one! :D
I think a lot of people kinda saw this coming. Everybody said this arc was going to be THE most important arc of the whole entire anime. But nobody knew it was gonna be this mind blowing. Gotta love OP.
I love how Oda is making it more cartoony. I don’t think we focus enough on some of Oda’s inspiration being cartoons like Tom and Jerry and I’ve always felt you can see this in his work. Even Usopp with his hammers is taken straight from old looney tunes cartoons ! Im sure we would find more examples if we looked deeper into it :)
@@binksbarman true. I hate people projecting how they “want” things to be. Too many people are trying to live writing their own manga through Oda. Also, The first time we hear about Gods, like the Forest god, sun god, River god. Was on Shandora with Mont Blanc Noland. The Shrine Nolan killed Kashi-Sama from and the shrine the merry got stuck on in skypeia, looks almost identical to Luffy in G5. Oda is a Madman for this level of forshadowing.
I wouldn't say madman, any good author would think of the ending or the idea of the ending before starting the story from the beginning. You need to know first where the story should go and then write about how it will lead there. Maybe what Shanks told Kaido back jn Marineford is that he found a possible Joyboy candidate and told that possibility to Kaido and then he might also said to wait for it is still early for Luffy to become Joyboy which makes sense since kaido was disappointed that Luffy cant be Joyboy either.

The whole imagination thing makes a lot of sense now. When luffy is in gear 4th there have been several occasions where his arms stretch to ungodly lengths (like against doflamingo and katakuri) which shouldn't be possible normally but if it's only limited by his imagination it's almost like he wills it into existence that his arms stretch so far out
Even in recent chapters, Kaido was commenting on how Luffy seemed to be punching him from out of nowhere while Kaido was likely able to keep track of Luffy's fists.
@@SerunaXI yeah that's a good point. It also goes back way further if we use that reasoning to Water 7/Enies Lobby when luffy got his ass kicked by Lucci and then all of a sudden he came up with Gears 2nd and 3rd. He even said back then that he saw what the CP9 guys did and basically mimicked it but put his own spin on it. So his imagination helping him come up with stuff might have been a thing back then too
It feels good to see that what I thought was right. I didn't really like the tigerman being gear 5th theory. I always believed that if Luffy would have a gear 5 it would be his df awakening.
That would be the most logical theory. Since all gears are on different levels than previous gears. Tigerman would be more like a part of gear 4. And it makes sense that gear 5 is the awakening since it is on a different level from gear 4
Note, they didn't say it was the most powerful devil fruit. They said it's the most ridiculous. Ridiculous could be in the same sense as how ridiculous looney tunes are.
@@余翊安-d2y Is it ust me or do you think its insanely stupid and annoying that this is luffy's true power? I thought the whole reason luffy was so interesting was because he didnt have a powerful devil fruit it was how he used it that made it so unique but now they just kinda pulled a naruto and said oh yea he's literally a God now. That's so lame
@@qae Luffy stood out in the midst of all the StRonG shonen protagonist because of what he represented for his friends. He's annoyingly stupid most of the time, offers almost nothing to the table as a captain, and he can't even fucking swim. But they all chose to ride with him. Heck, I would too in a heartbeat because Luffy would always offer them a choice when there doesn't seem to be one, THAT'S HIS THING. He's not the second coming of Christ or anything, but he is their hero. When a group of pirates take your entire village as hostage, and you're forced to sacrifice your freedom and integrity to save your loved ones, Luffy would come and just beat the shit out of the bad guy. This stupid monkey man comes in and just proves to you that despite the world dealt you a garbage hand, you're free to chase after what you desire, no matter how rediculous it is. TLDR: To me, Luffy is inspiring because while he sucks, and we all suck, and life sucks, he always proves to everyone that there is a freedom of choice; and if there isn't, he'll punch at a wall or something, inflate his fucking fist or squeeze his veins to speed up his blood flow until there is one. If he was always a fucking God king Christ of the Sun, why should anyone give a shit? Why should I even give a shit? I'm not a Sun God myself, and I never will be, nor would the people he inspired, especially Ace, because he died for a Sun God.
I think that Shanks is simply setting up the events in order to lead Luffy on the right path. It all makes sense, he knows what the fruit is, he knows from Roger what needs to happen, thats why he went all in on Luffy, Rayleigh and Crocus knew well enough about Luffy, thats why he stopped Kaido from coming to Marineford, he came himself to Marineford as it was too early for Luffy to die, he most likely told the Gorosei about Luffy (that happened when Luffy was on his way to Big mom) And this last one is the biggest. Shanks met the Gorosei when Luffy was going to Whole cake island, so he was collecting the Road Poneglyphs, which let shanks know that Luffy is basically ready to die, he know that the world governement has to fall so his influence is only setting up the road that Roger set and Luffy needs to follow. At this point i wouldnt be surprised to know that Shanks has a connection to Law as well
I love how all my prayers were answered and he just awakened the fruit and we just see a more turned up version of luffys just laughing away and kicking ass. 😂😂 love it. Best ever. Laughed the whole time reading the chapter. Nika literally bringing joy to everyone.
Very interesting breakdown. Just a nitpick, Luffy's fruit is technically not the "nika nika no mi", it's the same as Chopper and Sengoku, the hito hito no mi, just a different model. Chopper is base, Sengoku is model Buddha, and Luffy is model Nika.
It needs to be mentioned: Luffy having at least in part sun-based powers finally explains why Gear 2nd and Red Hawk work. They never made much sense to me because like rubber is the enemy of lightning, heat should be the enemy of rubber. If he does have sun-based powers then this has been foreshadowed since Water 7.
Natural rubber from trees is inflamable it can still explain gear 2nd and red hawk, if his powers are sun based a lot of problems might arise because most devil fruit user when consuming the fruit gains basic knowledge on the fruit abilities excluding its awakening which I guess needs experience and training with said fruit , if his power is the sun wat will be the correlation with what he first demonstrated when he ate it , also there will no sense of achievement since he can basically do anything

with all these reveals it’s kinda crazy when you think about BB’s fruit . ik they said zoans have a mind of there own but the yami yami literally delivered itself to Black Beard . SN: i hope Luffy sticks with the gomu gomu no mi attacks instead of changing it to Nika Nika , the Gomu Gomu is iconic in the anime world
with this chapter coming out i am now wondering about Long Ring Long land, the weird geography and physiology of the animals on the island. makes me think that the previous owner of the nika fruit or joy boy in the past used his awakening to mess around with the animals and the land to make people laugh and bring them happiness
Ive been following Ohara's videos for the past few months and it has just blown my mind at the in-depth knowledge! I have discovered even more things about One Piece that has made me appreciate Oda's genius even more!
Manu, the Gorosei said "the most Ridiculous", not the strongest one. Luffy can alter his surroundings as he wishes to, having the most fun while doing it. What i mean is, the fruit is strong and the Funniest one. It does not transform anything into "cartoonish", its just Oda's way of drawing Ridiculous moments in one piece. Like Ussops face vs Sugar... And many more
People are noob they understand "ridiculous" as if its written most powerful.....let those noobs think what they hv to. For me it was one of the best chapter man...
Is this idea that "ridiculous" means "funny" based on the Japanese reading or on the translation? Because if it's based on the translation it can be either way. And given the context, it looks like they're genuinely saying that it's a huge threat, which of course it implies that is "unbelievably strong".
Heres the context: - world government has been chasing after it for 800 years - mythical zoan - related to joyboy Im pretty sure it’s not too far fetched to say that it’s the “most powerful” or atleast, one of the most powerful fruits in their universe. Plus, the fact that it made the Gorosei worry that they even sent orders to have Luffy killed no matter what? Heck, we can even assume thats the reason why Shanks whent there in the first place. Sounds pretty powerful to me 🤷🏽♂️
I love that such an overpowered DF is limited by the character. Luffy has such few panels of him thinking to himself and Oda explaining that Luffy doesn’t think, he speaks/acts before he can think. It would be so OP if Blackbeard or most any other character had the power of imagination.
He already is op. He has two very powerful devil fruits, who’s to say he isn’t a mythical zoan with more powers that go beyond the logia style powers everybody believes he has. It’s very well possible he could wield more than two, maybe because of awakening his fruit. He is smart. But that’s what makes devil fruits interesting, the characters really can completely change a Devil fruits capabilities. Imagine if someone very crafty had access to peronas fruit, and awakened it lol
Naaah Luffy is perfect for this fruit overthinking and rationalisation hinders imagination and creativity Luffy reacts in contrast to plan ahead like a loonie toons character its strictly reacting in the most no fashion way possible bringing pure comedy with his wins enemies are baffled friends are cheered up anybody else with this ability would be a downer
we can see that luffy smiling or laughing is like a part in gear 5 , which basically means luffys devil fruit is the original smile fruit(which is nothing but the human human mythical zoan type fruit) and thats why kaido wanted to make the smile fruit to get closer to become joyboy. Moreover, the power luffy has now is godly and the way he uses it is upto his imagination(rather odas imagination), so we can see luffy creating unique stuff just like he did before the time skip. After the time skip we can see luffy's fights have been more haki based(except cracker which was somewhat inventive).I used to love pre time skip times where luffy would invent something crazy and new . So the way oda used this chapter is perfect for future also. the chapter was a banger
11:05 What if the the third devil fruit Blackbeard is looking for IS the Nika-Nika Fruit? That would explain why Burgess was so eager to take it in Dressrosa. Shanks could even have warned the Gorosei not about Luffy, but about Blackbeard knowing about the Nika-Nika Fruit
Pretty sure burgess had no idea about the fruit being Nika Nika. He thought it was gomu gomu and after seeing gear 4 th power, he wanted to take it, but he saw the Mera Mera no Mi and changed his mind, so he probably didn't know about the fruits real identity.
Just a thought but maybe this is why Sanji was born to have feelings unlike his siblings. The Lunarians must be connected to Nika in some way. Perhaps he is the “God” of the Lunarians which would explain why he had powers the other Lunarians don’t have. Sanji being spliced with Lunarian dna would explain how he can use Diamble Jambe, but could also work as the reason for Sanji having emotions. The Lunarian will is most likely the same will as JoyBoy if we use King as an example. Sanji burns with the flame of passion in the same way those with the Will of D keep the flame alive.
I thought it was interesting how Oda depicted Luffy against the backdrop of the full moon, prominently. It does appear the moon has great importance. Perhaps it will be a symbolic reference to the eventual dawn
the way one piece is going, i dont see any manga actually surpassing it, ever. only if togashi returns in the next couple of years and the dark continent arc absolutely blows our minds. other than that, one piece is solidifying itself as the greatest of all time ..
It's crazy how the power ups we get now are literly connected to the first chapters while in most manga the power ups are just that new power spikes for the sake of just beating the vilain and moving on to the next one one piece amazing for real
My theory about his fire abilities is: The reason how he can use Gear 2nd and Red Hawk is directly related to the Nika fruit's ability to pump the blood so fast in creates an intense heat that can ignite into flames. I've always thought how Gear 2nd is related to rubber properties, when the core aspect of using Gear 2nd is "pumping" and then speeding it up to make his sweat vaporize causing steam, which doesn't make any sense to be any properties of rubber. The only part which uses the rubber properties, is him expanding his blood vessels so that more blood can flow throughout his system safely, thereby gaining an incredible boost, but the pumping his blood part is very unlikely for having the powers of rubber only. Then there's Red Hawk and Red Roc, where some say it's an advance use of Armament Haki, which doesn't make sense as I haven't seen any other character that creates fire or any element when using Armament Haki. I think it's him pumping the blood towards his fist so fast that it creates an intense heat, which causes ignition of flames. Currently, in Chapter 1043 we see Luffy releasing steam from his body and mouth, while his heart beat getting louder and hair slowly melting. We can say it might be the leftover steam that he had from deflating from Gear 4th. But what if the heart that's beating so loud, is him pumping his heart so loud that it's allowing his blood to circulate so fast that it ignites his hair on fire, thereby having access to fire abilities that we have yet to see. And is also will be the reason why Gear 5th is a big drawback, that pumping his heart that loud and fast will result in not being able to use it properly, as it leaves him hard to breathe after or during the use. Then that leaves us with; if his body is creating flames, wouldn't that burn or scorch him? I would say it's because of Busoshoku Haki protecting his skin, or due to the Nika's other ability to make Luffy's rubber abilities more "free". What if Luffy is making his rubber body more durable, to withstand scorches in the head with a flaming hair. Or, his flaming hair is a part of Luffy's Zoan transformation to become like Nika, which Nika is portrayed to have flaming like hair. Rather than his hair melting, it's morphing into flames. I know it has so many holes, but it's just a theory though. I'm also open to correction.
How hot do you think blood has to be before it ignites into flames? Particularly under water like when we first see it. Luffy can generate fire as part of being a literal Sun God.
I like the idea that Shanks was gonna give the Hito Hito No Mi - Model Nica to Ace, Roger's son. And how Ace eventually ended up with the Mera Mera No Mi--The Fire Fruit. Like Ace was never meant to inherit the power of the "Sun" but ended up with "Fire" instead.
@@BlackLegASTRO We shouldn't forget the soldiers that sacrificed their lives for us. We didn't even know them, but does that mean we can't remember them?
This does explain how luffy can inflate his limbs as if he where to blow air in his limbs to expand them, then first his lungs would be expanded from all the air in them. Aswell as how he gets the air into his fist. We assumed he bite down into his bone and blows the air in but realistically the air would just escape out the hole he bit afterwards.
Not only that but I always was kind of sceptical how it should work. Just because luffy inflates his limbs, doesnt make them stronger. Its like a balloon. The more you inflate it, the weaker it would get.
Yeah man, I always thought that luffy blowing air into his body wont change anything but his size only, his power would be the same, heck it actually should make his attacks weaker, but then I thought this is a fictional story in a fictional world and just roll with it, now we know that its all his imaginations 🤣🤣

Man, the idea that Kaido will actually help Luffy get away from the Marines after realizing the real truth of what it means to be Joy Boy made me shed a tear. I don't want to get my expectations high, but if Kaido sacrifices himself in order to help Luffy and the others, he will undoubtedly be the best character in One Piece. That would be huge character development, growth, and a great finale. Just how Whitebeard got his finale, Kaido will also get his final narration. It would be most epic act of all One Piece. Man I really don't want to get my expectations high but damn it's impossible not to when it comes to Oda.
I can see it now. I can see kaido backing luffy at whatever the end of one piece is just like white beard did at marine HQ. It would be so dope if, after another fight, kaido switched sides. I love one piece and all of you who read it with me. Take care nakama!
Theory: So Nikka is seen holding a staff/spear, I believe Zunesha is this staff( Mabey awakened weapon zoan devil fruit?)Idk how but she turns into one because she states joy boy was her companion and I just don't see joyboy riding an island sized elephant(even if he is huge) so I'm assuming she has another form which I believe is a staff like wukong/nikka and hopefully she will join Luffy.
Let’s get rid of the Wukong oda definetly got his own unique ways. In my opinion luffy grabbing that big ass sword on onigashima has a better chance. Or maybe he can enlarge Zoro for a limited time or something.
One thing I noticed after reading this chapter is how many people saw Luffy before he grabbed Kaido. Kidd, Law, and Old Man Hyogoro saw him because they were outdoors, so a gigantic toon guy with burning hair shows up, of course they would notice. Marco noticed it too and he was with Tama and Nami, away from the fight (probably his Kenbunshoku Haki, or super hearing from his fruit, but I'm not sure). And one more person noticed it: Sanji. It could just be his Kenbunshoku Haki, but the worse case is that his "Vinsmoke genetic enhancement" is finally complete.
Nah, Sanji always had great Observation Haki, we literally got that when he noticed Black Maria's trap from far away even when Luffy could not. It's natural he would notice it as well.

Hey, you might want to check chapter 441. There are some REALLY interesting parallels that could make for a short video and even theory. This is the chapter where Ace and Blackbeard fight. The Yami-Yami no mi is explained in full. He says it's the most dangerous devil fruit in the world and Luffy's was described as the most ridiculous one. One clue that I realised retroactively is that there are only 2 Devil fruit users who have shown the ability to have multiple different forms: Luffy and Chopper. And now we know that they both have different models of the same fruit. Truly some next level mind karate from Oda.

I feel like the luffy we are looking at is endgame luffy. the only things hes missing is just more experience and maybe even mixing his gears/haki with his awakening if he really needs to
He himself said that he is now at his peak. So yeah. Endgame One Piece. This is it. I just cant think about how Luffy will fight others with this power. Kaido-> Okay. But Blackbeard? This will change all of the fights and will get pretty strange.
Something important to note I think is that Luffy is referring to his awakening as Gear 5th. This isn't gonna be Luffy at base from now on; this is only going to be when he gets serious (or in his case, gets goofy.) I imagine he will likely need to work on getting a handle on it, similar to how Gear 2nd and Gear 3rd started. Luffy might be out of commission for a WHILE too, considering the toll this fight will almost certainly have on his body.
How about the smile theory, luffys new abilities has left him in a state of joy and always smiling, the fruit vegapunk were trying to recreate was the kaido fruit and luffys fruit and it failed except the joy part, where it removes all other emotions and makes joy their only emotion. Vegapunk abandons the project and caeser picks up the project making defective zoan fruits and supplied it to kaido
This makes so much sense, especially since the Gorosei have been trying to get this fruit for several centuries-why wouldn’t they approach the brilliant Vegapunk to try and recreate it in all that time?
Oda said it in a interview, to beat kaido he need gear 5 like month ago, he cannot beat kaido, a yonku, like he beat doflamingo, this was call since the first time we see kaido jump from 10000meter and his insane durability
Long time ago i've read an interview with Oda, he said that he wanted to give Luffy power that would allow him to do stupid and funny things even in serious moments, so i guess he went a few steps further with this idea ;p
Danke fürs nicht Spoilern… und für die Vorwarnung am Anfang… jetzt musste ich das Video endlich sehen nach dem ich das Kapitel gelesen habe. Mach weiter so !
I would also like to point something I realized to this whole Shanks' situation with the Gorosei. So, according to the old men, the World Government is trying to get their hands on the Hito Hito No Mi Nika for 800 years, but seems like purposely escaping from them. BUT! They already had their one in a million chance when Who's Who secured the fruit. But as we all know, Shanks stole it. SO! If that fruit is that important to the WG and Shanks stole the only chance to get their hands on it, why did they still trust Shanks? Regardless of what the reason they trust Shanks, he's the reason why they lost the HHNM:Nika. HERE'S WHAT I THINK! Who's who is a fall guy, and WG ordered Shanks to steal it from him to secure its delivery to them. I don't personally believe in the "Shanks is a villain" theory, but this particular situation of the Gorosei still trusting Shanks despite being the reason they lost the HHNM is really suspicious.
Thats actually a good reason. Tho I would like to know why Shanks started working with the Gorosei. From his flashbacks there are no indication as to why shanks would work with the government. Unless there is more to shanks childhood before he joined Roger and started his pirate life
@@JarvisGaming IMO Shanks is going to be crazy strong but he doesn't want to be the person to start fights/wars, he wants to orchestrate from behind the scenes. He went to the WG to give them the information because he thinks it is important for them to know that information for whatever his grand plan finally is. The WG trusting him is suspicious, but he obviously doesn't mean them any direct harm (at least right now) and he is giving them reliable information which they potentially value more than his past actions against them.
Maybe Who Who never told the world gov who stole the fruit. It seems as if the some of the gorosei didn’t even know about the fruit until recent chapters.
Despite all the millions of theories being thrown around, I never gave up on it being a Mythic Zoan because the fruit had to be more than a mere rubber paramecia to warrant such a response from the World Government, and after Hyogoro made the comment on Luffy's Gear 4th appearance, I felt it couldn't be anything other than a Mythic Zoan. Also, while I love the cartoony nature of the his fruit now, I hope Luffy will be able to use fire attacks more frequently and liberally now since he's fully manifested as the "Sun God."
Dragon must know everything about Luffy's devil fruit aswell, considering he has access to all sorts of secret intel. Maybe the revolutionaries will also make a move soon.
I'm so much impressed by you and grandline review. How you guys use logical reasoning to predict everything in one piece and then your theories even becoming true. It makes me so happy for you guys Ohara. Keep the Good Work Brother🙏🏻❤️
99.9% of Ohara’s theories are copied from Reddit users. He is very well known for doing this and not giving credit to anyone. In this video, he copied a subreddit WORD BY WORD… I came here to confirm it and omg… Its actually sad.
Shanks telling them about Luffy in order to bait them into awakening Luffy's fruit is my favorite theory that came to mind as soon as the fruit type was confirmed
Here's a theory for everyone to think about: What if Blackbeard's 3rd target for a df was luffy's devil fruit? That way, he would have the strongest paramecia, the strongest logia and the strongest zoan. This would also explain why he tried to target luffy at first to become a warlord. When ace intervened, he thought "I might as well get the gura gura no mi first."
I had this theory awhile ago. That Blackbeard wanted a fruit to counteract the pain he recieved from the darkness fruit, and it would be Luffy's. Then Luffy gets saved by Law's surgery fruit, Sabo gives Luffy Ace's fruit, and When Luffy becomes Pirate King, it's like Ace became Pirate King as well in a way, just like Roger and Whitebeard wanted. Im not so sure that'll happen now after this recent chapter, but it was fun to think about.
Doesn't explain why he tried going after luffy at all. Nobody not even luffy knew what his fruit was, BB just wanted an easy target to give to the world gov to help him with his plan.
@@leightonrud66 Even though this theory is kinda farfetched, you can't really say nobody knew about luffy's devil fruit either. There are already theories floating around about how shanks knew about it and Rayleigh and the rest of the surviving Roger pirates knew about it for sure since they know the whole history of the world including everything about Joyboy, WB probably knew about it since Roger told him everything when he was drunk. So I dont see why someone who has enough devil fruit knowledge to eat 2 and survive wouldn't know about it. I dont really have proof but it cant be disproven at the moment either.
@@Bugsy_Seagull That's becouse he didnt know who luffy was before that. Where can I start reading the manga? right now I'm just at the end of Marine Ford Ark and I've heard it gets really slow especially around dressrossa.

This needs more recognition so we can go back to this comment if it’s right. Haha
This makes so much sense!
This is so understandable what the heck

Isn't the Okinawan myth taking about the Kijimuna and they live in Banyan Trees
@@shridharbiju7370 Yeah banyan trees have been in some Okinawa tales regarded as ''rubbery/leathery," so that part doesn't raise alarm bells and Kijimuna had different names, unfortunately there are too many tales on Kijimuna for me a British fella' to go through and find one specifically named "Nika."
That being said I do believe the Japanese OP community normally get these things correct and so far this entire arc has been blanketed by Okinawa mythos.

To quote what I’ve said to my friend, If Luffy’s only power was a body made of rubber, he’d be dead a few times over, but anyone else with this power wouldn’t be anywhere near as strong. I’d say it’s 1/4 the fruit and 3/4 Luffy’s just that tough
Well he is a Monkey D., everyone we know named like that is a certified badass
Here's what gets me too, defense-wise now it makes sense how durable Luffy is, how he's managed to survive so many of his battles, because Zoans have mad durability.

I like that idea too.

@@AJJr-hc5lz the way he transforms isn’t like any traditional zoan or even mythical zoan we’ve seen.
Took the words right out of my mouth. Luffy’s childlike simplicity is SO powerful.
💯
The gorosei say that “the fruit is only limited by the users imagination”
Because of this, I like to think that Luffy was subconsciously using this power with red hawk because of his love for his brother. Having innate sun powers could be part of it, but I think that’s the most beautiful interpretation
I always thought the rubber fruit was useless it's just Luffy was creative the way he used it.
I just made comment about being this DF are Imagination fruit.
literally this fruit are himself, God Oda.
Yeah he can create anything so long as his imagination allows it
but katakuri does burning mochi as well
Almost all the ways he used it so far has been bits of others I think. Adding his own spin on them.
Edit: Apologies my mistake it's not the "Nika Nika no Mi" it's the "Hito Hito no Mi Model: Nika" as pointed out by @MK DR
I also wanted to add in the following thought too: I think it's amazingly consistent with Luffy's character too.

Nika was a sun god so fire properties seem obvious
@@godmode6263 I think luffy can do whatever he wants, but there are gonna be limitations. But essentially he can stretch the limits of reality.

100% agree with you guys

It actually hasn't "awakened" yet
We just now know it's true identity as a zoan fruit which opened these new abilities.
With that bit of knowledge, consider this:
Luffy has had multiple times where he has made super nonsensical attacks that made most of us wonder how does it fit into his rubber set : I.e. gomu gomu baka, gomu gomu ufo, gomu gomu pin wheel, afro mode, shadow mode, and the Fire hawk.

Instead of appreciating this and taking it for what it is a fiction story that isn’t meant to be super serious but has some serious themes that luffy always at the end shrugs off once he wins

These chapters are a response from Oda to the Japanese fandom you called Wano sloppy and boring.
Not taking anything away from Oda, One Piece is a brilliant story, but I feel like yall are overreacting or just lack a baseline of understanding of storytelling.

Yep, just like how he grew more arms using Kong organ

I was all in on the nika nika idea

Ya I was wondering why luffy didn’t melt when he fought enel so I told ppl it’s a plothole

Good theory
What an underrated theory.. watch this shit be true..
Kind of a dick move. Can see Luffy doing it
Ive been following Ohara's videos for the past few months and it has just blown my mind at the in-depth knowledge!
And given the context, it looks like they're genuinely saying that it's a huge threat, which of course it implies that is "unbelievably strong".
he turned the floor into rubber and made it bounce back Kaido's boro breath, thats a pretty cartoon thing to do
nah luffy has toon force
Heres the context:
- world government has been chasing after it for 800 years
- mythical zoan
- related to joyboy
Im pretty sure it’s not too far fetched to say that it’s the “most powerful” or atleast, one of the most powerful fruits in their universe. Plus, the fact that it made the Gorosei worry that they even sent orders to have Luffy killed no matter what? Heck, we can even assume thats the reason why Shanks whent there in the first place. Sounds pretty powerful to me 🤷🏽♂️
I love the camera movements at 7:30 in to your video and you should add them more often.
Well luffy has the most powerful ability which is plot... Nothing surprising at this point.. But glad we got the looney toons shoutout
Never even thought of that. Brilliant writing. GODA
11:05 What if the the third devil fruit Blackbeard is looking for IS the Nika-Nika Fruit? That would explain why Burgess was so eager to take it in Dressrosa. Shanks could even have warned the Gorosei not about Luffy, but about Blackbeard knowing about the Nika-Nika Fruit
when did Burgess want the Nika-Nika fruit? I’m pretty sure he wanted Ace’s fruit
@@giicaiv He wanted to kill luffy and steal his fruit but Sabo intervened.
Pretty sure burgess had no idea about the fruit being Nika Nika. He thought it was gomu gomu and after seeing gear 4 th power, he wanted to take it, but he saw the Mera Mera no Mi and changed his mind, so he probably didn't know about the fruits real identity.
Man your videos really blow my mind EVERYTIME. 🤯🤯🤯😩💯

Or, as stated in the chapter, Luffy's power is imagination. Meaning he imagined Ace's fire fist and replicated it.
Not everything has to be big brain.

Marco noticed it too and he was with Tama and Nami, away from the fight (probably his Kenbunshoku Haki, or super hearing from his fruit, but I'm not sure). And one more person noticed it: Sanji. I just cant think about how Luffy will fight others with this power. Kaido-> Okay. But Blackbeard? This will change all of the fights and will get pretty strange.
Something important to note I think is that Luffy is referring to his awakening as Gear 5th. This isn't gonna be Luffy at base from now on; this is only going to be when he gets serious (or in his case, gets goofy.) They already had their one in a million chance when Who's Who secured the fruit.
The WG trusting him is suspicious, but he obviously doesn't mean them any direct harm (at least right now) and he is giving them reliable information which they potentially value more than his past actions against them.
bro what if shanks is a celestial dragon
@@uncletone3296 not surprising
I get a roger rabbit vibe from what I just read and I’m all about it.
Congratulations have a cookie for being so smart
Should've been included in Guinness book world records.
Dragon must know everything about Luffy's devil fruit aswell, considering he has access to all sorts of secret intel. Maybe the revolutionaries will also make a move soon.
If he did know, he wouldn't be surprised when Luffy came back alive.
@@sambeg2 depends if he learned his devil fruit in fighting or not.
@@programmingwithsunny6121 but he has all sorry of secret Intel why would he have to know during the fight eh?
@@guoc11 can be disproven.if your theory was valid he would've attacked luffy at the bar in jaya but only decided after he saw his 100m bounty
@@Bugsy_Seagull That's becouse he didnt know who luffy was before that. In the bar luffy didnt fight back at all so there's no way he could have known some 30m bounty guy from east blue would have the fruit he was looking for. He probably saw his fruit getting used later on maybe becouse he looked like an interesting person or maybe he recognised the straw hat since he encountered shanks before. Again all of this is just a theory but I still think its possible.
I think it's crazy how many of your theories came together in just one chapter! I'm actually super impressed
Fun fact:
Go n check reddit
O'Hara just copy pasted a certain person comments n applying in his YT videos
That’s cause they aren’t his theories.
