  • We left at 3am from Cape Town, 11 hours to Twee Rivieren. 12 hours later we arrived and with an exhausted husband, who won't be a passenger, we asked if we could transfer our first night at Twee rivieren for Mata Mata so that we do not set up again the next day. So 6 nights at Mata Mata it was, we got lucky - but we arrived late, 16-17 hours later, finished...

Enjoyed the still photography. And that you shared birds as not everyone does. Although I think your "Martial" Eagle is one of the snake eagles. The eyes are distinctive.
Well done. I will keep watching from my home in Tanzania.

Thank you Garry! We feel the same about the parks on your end! Just a lot more involved when traveling so far 👍

Such a wonderful way of sharing your journey. We were in KTP in Dec 2021 and in the evening we had rain and storm each day and the next day it turned into a green landscape. We are going to KTP in a week's time, :-) super excited. Can you kindly help me with one information, what plugs did you use at the campsite to charge the cameras and mobile phones? Can I buy the adapters here in Capetown?

The campsites use the blue fredlin plug adapter: www.outdoorwarehouse.co.za/product/fredlin-plug-adaptor?sku=137099&gclid=Cj0KCQiA0oagBhDHARIsAI-BbgfSEr25P4yiPSa-o3hSH-DGa1vl-Q5oIb3tfjXq23GNcGc4R33je5saAqCmEALw_wcB
They do sell these adapters in Kgalagadi too, but are very expensive.
I'm so excited for you! We planning our next one for Jan 2024. So much fun in the planning and anticipation too! Hope you have a great trip 😉

A very long drive, but the reward is worth it.
