We are a South African Family that loves camping all over Southern Africa. We want to inspire and educate families on places to go, things to do, planning and travel safari tips and tricks. Our Blog is available at www.insideout-fitness.com/blog
We are Cape Town based and do local day trips, camping trips monthly and safari adventures around South Africa, Namibia and Botswana etc. With 2 young children it can be scary to road trip and camp in wildlife parks, this shares our experience and advice to young families who don't want to wait "for the right time". The time is now!

Great video! Thanks for sharing. Check the falcon at 08:51 again, I think it's a Red-necked Falcon.
Thank you for watching! We are slowly learning the subtle differences and looking back still have so much to learn!t
Stunning trip - we were there mid Jan24 when all the yellow "Duiwelkie Thorn" flowers were in bloom after the rains you experienced, did also travel through some puddles and watched a tortoise drink from one of them. This was our first trip and look forward to the next.
Thanks for watching! I hope you get many awesome trips in the park. We can't wait for our next winter experience in a few weeks, mostly on the "wild side".
Beautiful shots.
Thank you for watching!
Gorgeous Red-necked Falcon at 2:37 lovely thing that.
Thank you so much! We loving learning as we go...
Great video, I really enjoyed it. Well done.
Thanks for watching!
Nice video of my favorite park. Well done
Thanks so much for watching!
When exactly were you in Kgalagadi?
We arrived just before Christmas and left after new year ☀️
"Promo SM" 😭
Sorry, I don't understand your reference?
Great video.I love watching and still deciding to go to an unfenced campsite.Scared.
I fully understand that! It is scary but I have learned that is a good thing, as it makes us attentive and vigilant. I hope I will never be complacent! What I can say, we have an incredible and exhilarating time and can't wait to share our Winter experience with you! Thanks for watching!
Really liked your video on the planning. I'm South African but work & live in Thailand so I can only dream about traveling South Africa while watching videos like yours. I also got a similar trailer like yours and are in the process of kitting it out so I can hook up and go with my limited time for holiday's. Is it possible to get a hold of a copy of your planning sheet in excel so I can try and learn from your experiences pls? Thanks allot and stay safe.
Thank you so much! Sorry for the delay but I want to set up a link in a format others can easily use, (like google sheets) as I use Microsoft word. I have finally sat down and done it and added it to the video description but here it is directly! You can easily cop paste on excel from sheets, I checked. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15zdkkgPmI56-ItIXGfsMCGnmwMC_CdHY7Bc1IAIhR0Q/edit?usp=sharing Let me know is there is a problem opening it as it is my first time. Good luck with your planning! It is one of our favorite times. Thanks for watching!!
After 30 years I have finally agreed to a Kgalagadi trip, December this year, with a certain amount of trepidation I might add, but your series of videos with exceptional photos and videos, has eased my nerves a bit. Heat is a concern, but you have given us ideas which will help. Thank you so much, we will miss our evening dose of Jason, Carmen and family. Where are you going 2024?
This is such a fabulous comment to read! How exciting!!! Thank you for you kind words. We are planning an epic winter, unfenced trip now, in June, in the Kgalagadi and we promised the kids a garden route summer ☀️ with a dose of eastern cape bush at Addo 😊. You must let me know how your summer goes! 🐾
Tips .vacuum pack the meat then freez in the buck freez to size .meat last 100 times longer pretty cook meals put in aluminum cheap container with foil lid.defrost put on the fire as is to warm. Half cook veg for the precooked meals and add after food cools down and freez .long life milk once open put in a liter plastic container and in the fridge .beer bottles and other bottles glass ware in the fridge tend to brake off roading stuff a old dish cloth or rags in the fridge to stop.them moving about it works.no brakage
Thanks so much! Great advice 👍🏻
Yup, that bird is a Greater Spotted Cuckoo. Thanks for sharing the great videos!
Thanks so much!
Fabulous conclusion to an epic trip and wonderful series of videos. Well Done Folks👍👍👍
Thank you for watching! It's great to people enjoy them!
No one spotting the absolute massive cobra in the backround (Top left) @9:18 ??
We did see it during editing and mentioned it jn the follow up video 🤣, amazing isn't it!

Thank you so much!
Thanks again for sharing this incredible journey with us. It's been amazing and inspired me to visit as well. Thanks again
Thank you for all those kind words. I look forward to hearing about your trip! Thanks for watching!
This series brings back dear memories of three trips we made to Kgalagadi. We envie you being able to arrange everything from homs: we arranged everything from Europe and flew in to SA (both Capetown and Joburg). We sincerely hope to be able to be back once again.
We certainly hope you will be able to have an experience like this again! I am so pleased we could bring back good old memories in the meantime 😊, thank you for watching!
Stunning. Thank you
Thank you so much!
WOW - WOW - WOW Two unbelievably fantastic sightings , you were truly blessed with good fortune that day. Those young lions with the sticks were so playful.😃😃😃
It really was our best day ever! Feel very grateful. The feeling you get in the moment just never seems adequate in the video!
What a phenomenal adventure you guys are having. I'm beyond green with envy 😅
It was something else, honestly, ever trip is amazing, we just getting better and the little things too! Those clubs were incredible!
Great episode. Love the music chosen while the cubs were playing 👍🏼… Until next week 😉
We had so much fun making this one! The music just sounded right for the playful mood! Hope you having fun now too!
Great! You deserve far more subscribers. I'm living this adventure vicariously through your videos. Keep them coming!
That is such a great comment! Thank you so much. We feel like we getting better each time and having so much fun doing it!
Lovely episode ❤❤
Thanks so much!
Glad I discovered your channel. I really enjoy this type of content!
Welcome! I hope you enjoy the rest!!
Very informative, thanks.
Thanks so much!
This is awesome, was there in December and Jan.our 17th time.amazing..dit you see where the male lion roared at rooiputs, there was a cape cobra in the background under the tree😊KG still the best place
Thank-you so much! Yes!!!! We saw on all our footage after the fact was the cobra!!! It's amazing we missed it at first. Amazing what you see on your footage after!
Loved this. Only 276 days till we go to Rooiputs. What a wonderful experience?! That lion, fabulous footage, fabulous photographs, wonderful narration and info. Can't wait for episode no 10.
Thank you so much! That's such positive feedback !😊 Look forward to hearing about your trip! We back there and Polentswa in July!!
Amazing thanks
Such a pleasure!
I think 16.07 is an African Sc ops-owl (not Pearl Spotted)?
It really could be, wish the eyes were open for more information! Birding is so tricky! Thank you for the observation 😉
@@insideoutadventuressa8283 100% African Scops-owl
Loved this episode, especially the comments regarding the other smaller animals when the predators are not around. Visiting game parks become more rewarding when one is open to appreciate everything that nature has to offer. Keep up the great work. 👍🏼
Thanks Ivan! Always love your imput 😉
Guys I'm loving your trip and your tips. I'm taking in as much as I can for the trip I'm planning there. Thanks for sharing and I can't wait to see it for myself.
That's brilliant 👏 I can't wait to hear how it goes!!!
@@insideoutadventuressa8283 I've never been and so excited to get there. My normal haunt is either Kruger or Marekele so quite daunted by the long trip from Joburg and the planning.
We know that feeling! It's taken us years of evolution and I was anxious not knowing. It is a different experience to Kruger, but in many ways more profound. Please share your experiences, we invested now!
@@insideoutadventuressa8283 I will. Glad to know it's not just me over thinking this
Definitely a normal response by our experience!
Was my home for a year
That sounds amazing! May I ask how?
WOW - what a stunning place. So pleased to have included it in our itinerary for our upcoming trip. The bacon at breakfast smelt great. Love the Klipspringers, theyre on my bucket list as have never seen one, yet.
The best part of Augrabies is being able to get out, anywhere. Klipsprings are almost a sunset certainty at the Ararat veiw point.
Hi Guys, What a fabulous collection of episodes youve put together. They've been really useful giving a great insight into what Kgalagadi is like and what to expect. We'll be visiting later this year, in November, and it will be our very first trip to KTP. Can't wait !! Looking forward to the next installment....
That is such awesome feedback, thank you! Wishing you the most awesome experience!
Jason &Carmen, (I hope I've got you're name's right). I was really interested to see the condition of the roads as I was unsure if we should hire a 4x4 or a Suv 2x4. I will be choosing a 4x4 for definite after seeing those flooded roads. V
That is safer. Good choice. November is a dry month, but flash storms still happen. Where are you going in the park? So much fun is had in the planning too!
@@insideoutadventuressa8283 You're so right, planning and researching a trip is great fun and very rewarding. We're heading to ZA from the UK for a month long trip at the end of October. We're starting off with 2 weeks in Kruger, staying in our favourite camps, Satara (7 nights), 4 in Lower Sabie and 4 in Berg en Dal. This will be our 5th trip to Kruger . Then we head south for a couple of days at Augrabies Falls before heading to KTP where we are booked in at Twee Rivieren (4), 3 nights at Mata Mata, Nossob (2) before ending our trip with a final 2 nights at TR. Would have liked to stay for 3 nights at Nossob to give us a bit more time to head both north and south from the camp but we could'nt get the suitable accomodation, however I'll keep checking as cancellations sometimes come up. I think its going to be an epic trip.. Hopefully we'll get some decent photos / video footage to do a few youtube films to add to my existing small offering .😉

What an epic episode Kgalagadi die Mollers van Secunda kom die leeu onder die boom epic thanks for sharing
It was quite an experience! Thank heavens we were on a busy road. We will never make that mistake again 🤦♀️
Love your video. The two Tawny Eagles at the puddle, the one is actually a juvenile Bateleur. Lovely footage
We thought so too at first but never got close enough to be sure! These birds aways get us flummoxed 🙃
Content epic, animals , birds camping wow, die mollers van secunda binnekort daar. Daai braai oppie vuur en stere wow flippen mooi.
Baie dankie, julle moet die beste tyd hê!
Great video, check the wings of the Korhaan's in flight. Northern Black has white primary feather "windows" and the Southern Black has black primaries. The Afrikaans names are a good indicator - Witvlerkkorhaan and Swartvlerkkorhaan. Also check the "Cape Vulture" at 12:52, it looks like a White-backed Vulture as secondary feathers are dark, where the Cape's are white with black tips.
Wow, that is really great tips! Thank you so much, will look into that!
Beautiful. Thank you

Thank you! Love a good plan!
If we could actually meet, it would be great. Can't wait for the rest of the series.
I'm so glad I found your channel. My husband and I are nature nuts. Rather old nuts at that, Two Wrinkled Teens we have now been named. We raised our children with most holidays spent in parks. We also love photography, but complete amatures. We, like yourselves, thought a channel for private use, is a good idea. Somehow this old fuddy duddy made it public and we have had a few views. It is not prifessional, but just for memories. We also dream of the R series, but the budget just won't stretch there. As I am now a bit shaky, I have gone back to a bridge. A Nikon P950. Not good in low light, but I love it. Kevin has a Canon 2000D with a Sigma 150 600. He produces really good stuff. We have a Jimny 1500 and an African backbone trailor with tent. We love this. Used to tow with an old Jimny and were known as Skilpad 😂. Our daughter and her hubby, have the stay with Stacy and Rikus channel. Much more professional. Your photographs, videos and narration are lovely. I have no idea about editing, no idea what program to use. It needs to be cheap and easy. We off to Kgalagadi in December. Included Rooiputs and Polentswa for the first time. Adrenaline already pumping. Keep up the lovely channel.
Thanks so much for the comment! We are just as excited and nervous for our winter trip in Rooiputs and Polentswa. Our 2 nights at Rooiputs (still coming in the series) are of the best nights in the bush ever. It is exhilarating and incredible! You will love it! I recently got a new phone, been on my wish list all year, Samsung S23 ultra, which has seriously surprised me with quality. Stay with Stacy and Ricus is one of our favorites! Both my husband and I follow them. They are very good! Lovely to connect, hope we meet up one day!!
The khalahari has mesmerizing beauty. I’m back again this year on the Botswana side.
It does! Have a great trip!!
Animal, birding sighting epic. Storm of all storms realy nice episode thanks
