    I started real life drifting late 90s, stopped in 2006 because our track closed (Hawaii Raceway. Recently got my sim drift setup (relivately new to sim) and downloaded our defunct Hawaii track in AC, feels 99% like it did in real. I use the same techniques approach the course the same. Also I iniitally started with a t248 (didnt feel real) then to Fanatec Direct,made all the difference.

      @JankyDrift  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Yeah t300 at a minimum as far as I'm concerned. Getting away from the lower end wheels (g29/t248/etc.) really does make a difference.

      @@JankyDriftI should’ve just bought a better wheel, G920 took so much time just to dial in and then even more time to figure out how to even balance a drift

    Thanks for this, i train in assetto everyday 300-500hp cars, soon gona transit to real life, we have some drift track polygon and soon gonna try it out. But this video helps so much!

      You're gonna be in for a real fucking shock if you experience that anywhere near the limit on the backroads, I'll tell you that much lmao. 100hp is scary, 300 is terrifying, 400+ is racecar driver shit. Be safe, bro th-cam.com/video/64md2PTOdDo/w-d-xo.html

      @@RhodokTribesman I know you mean good, but i actually drive Audi S8 1997 (340hp) and ofc i'm gona have instructor beside. Cuz that instructor gave me few spins in 400hp drift car (drift taxi) on the same polygon I'm gonna drift on anyways. For drift on this polygon i'm gonna use modified car (instructor gives one at the beginning for learning purposes) which i'll buy after i learn track and get comfy, actually good deal (RWD Audi A4 1998 - V6 produces 310hp and it's perfect for the drift polygons). You too, stay safe. th-cam.com/video/wscBtO6T_C0/w-d-xo.html

    Great video mate! Well presented, very imformative! Great for me as its something I intend to do at some point, hopefully. Have offer of a wet airfield to use, will be a bit of a challenege as my car is a FWD estate car, (can't afford another RWD car atm), but once the tires are nearly ready for a change I'll be taking it there to at least enjoy getting the back end out under lift off oversteer in a safe enviroment. Really enjoyed watching this. Cheers!

    Loved the part where you mention: you could have someone slap you in the face :)) Reminds me of when i had a friend over to have fun on my rig and he said is not very real because you don't have the G forces and all of that, and i said to him, yeah, i can shake your chair like theres a fck earthquake if you want :D hahahaha. - I'm doing SIM DRIFTING and i'm very much considering doing it in the real life. I have a DRIFT Experience coming soon where i will drift with their cars on a track and i'm very much looking forward to it and put in the skills i'm learning in Assetto Corsa.

    • @JankyDrift
      @JankyDrift  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah a lot of people struggle with that, just have to get used to drifting more from the feedback in the wheel instead of what you would feel in the car. Try easier packs like gravy Garage, they've got a ton of steering angle which will probably help transition you over.

    • @JankyDrift
      @JankyDrift  ปีที่แล้ว

      My current setup, but you can definitely cut corners and still learn just the same:
      Simagic Alpha Mini
      Thrustmaster T-LCM pedals
      Thrustmaster Th8A shifter
      Ebay/Amazon Handbrake
      NRG Bucket seat
      NRG 350mm steering wheel
      Reverb G2 VR Headset

    I love your channel!! Most people have never touched a car ever, or start playing the game after 10+ years of drifting irl
    So I think that your channel is very unique and the videos are cool cuz they resemble 2012 TH-cam
    Also, I have a question about the cars in game. If I haven’t drifted irl, how can I know if a mod is realistic or not?
    Thank you for uploading!!

    • @JankyDrift
      @JankyDrift  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Appreciate it. Very much going for that vibe before everyone bloated their videos for the sake of ad revenue.
      Honestly without having real life driving experience you probably just need to lean on other folks with experience to confirm what's realistic or not. I thought I knew what was realistic when I first started drifting on Assetto, but now that I drift in real life I have a completely different perspective.

    @vladledrac ปีที่แล้ว

    tbh with the road feel and suspension feel even though it never going to feel 100% to real life IMO that's where you need a motion sim and no not the seat mover kind. I'm talking like the 3 or 4 or 6 axis motion platforms

    • @JankyDrift
      @JankyDrift  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've driven a few motion rigs and they definitely do help with immersion. Would love to upgrade my rig to motion eventually as it definitely gets you closer to real life, but honestly it's still a far cry from the real thing.

    Nice videos.. is your z stock ?

    • @JankyDrift
      @JankyDrift  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For power it's just intake and high flow cats. For suspension basically everything has been replaced with adjustable pieces including coilovers, control arms, and so on. Then welded diff and hydro handbrake. Going to do a video about the car eventually.

    • @imadragnZ
      @imadragnZ ปีที่แล้ว

      I had a stock e30 with a welded diff before and i had no feedback from the wheel like in assetto.. i was wondering if that will be the case for a stock z with a welded diff i havent tried to drift with my z

    • @imadragnZ
      @imadragnZ ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean to make the wheel turn on fast its own after an initiation

    • @JankyDrift
      @JankyDrift  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@imadragnZ if you install an angle kit most of them will decrease the rotation needed for your steering wheel to hit full lock in either direction. That’ll make your car feel more like the ones in the game do. They also generally allow for caster adjustments which affects how fast your car will self-steer.
