    Well the picture of Santa was supposed to be a picture of her on her cot 🤣🤣🤣 Oh well, enjoy the cute picture I suppose!

    Most short haired dogs shed more than long haired dogs, and short hairs get stuck in fabric, where long hair is easy to pull out. Also, long hairs float around and gathers together making it easier to see and clean up after. Double coated dogs shed twice a year. But like people, all dogs shed to some extent.

      Very good points! Khali doesn't have the undercoat but does seem to shed constantly; she doesn't have the big bulk sheddings that long haired dogs have 🤔 We still love her either way 😁 thank you!

    I love going camping with dogs. I always have. My dogs are service dogs, although one is retired. So this is the first year that Saint won’t be with us everywhere we go. Walter can go with us anywhere though. They are both extremely well behaved but we will have to monitor the heat in the trailer if we go somewhere and leave Saint behind. They are both Labs, one 55 lbs, one 65 lbs.

      Awe that's a shame! We would miss our baby. Do you guys use a device to monitor the temperature? We've been looking into it. Thanks for watching, Claudia!

    We have been talking about this topic. We have a small dog which goes well with our small trailer! Lots of good advice! Our pup is an older dog with very short legs. We like to hike and have a backpack to put him in when we go. That is good advice for boarding! Thanks for sharing! Great video!

    We switched our water bowl to a non spill container. You stand it up and it secures the water and you put down and it lets out enough water for the dog to stop sip.

    • @lifererouted
      @lifererouted  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh that sounds super handy - her bowl spills more often than we'd like lol!

    Been going back and forth on taking my beloved dog with me because of her health issues. I hate to take her away from her regular vet, but I am her person and she loves camping, traveling,and the RV. Never thought about having her records with a place like PetSmart before, but you have given me some food for thought. Merry Christmas!

    We have a 65lb spoiled chocolate lab & have to do extra research to find places that will allow dogs- restaurants, wineries, breweries, hiking trails.. also she does get anxiety on travel days & has to be on the passengers lap... but wouldn’t want it any other way. It's not so much "fur" as "canine confetti", and the more pup loves you, the more she celebrates by spreading it.
    Wife's lifesaver (service dog) is an English yellow lab - I had no idea dogs could be so smart until I met him. He also has a way of telling us when he needs to do his business and, thanks to his training never needs crating either. As for his own space, he claims anywhere we like to lay, especially the bed, and he'll lay diagonally across it to take up the whole darn thing all by himself. We keep most of his (shot) records and papers in the same pocket of his vest that wife keeps her "File of Life" stuff in, but were wondering about a vet when we eventually take to the road, so that was a good tip, thanks! Maybe a silly question, but do you have Khali registered anywhere? Do you make a habit of registering her wherever you stay for any extended period of time?

    • @lifererouted
      @lifererouted  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Canine confetti 😂 I like that! She is not registered anywhere, she was a rescue from SC and is probably a lab mix of some sort. Thanks for sharing!

    I know this may be a dumb question. I am looking at getting a travel trailer. I drive a crew cab ram, however the rear seat is taken up with our three kids. We have two large dogs. I was wondering if there was any resources or way to learn to know if you can travel with the dogs in the travel trailer?

    We have 2 cats and a dog in our 29 ft travel trailer. It's a pain but love them. Best time of the day is when all 3 pets are sleeping or calm 🤣🤣

    Dang, we don’t have a dog but I still felt like this was still applicable to myself. I like rest areas for potty breaks, I have a safe spot in the camper when I’m getting smothered with love, I’ve been told at time I’m an aggressive breed, and sometimes I overeat and feel like throwing up! I’m sure I’ve shed equally as much hair! Now.. the haven’t gotten a checkup at Petsmart..but sometimes I feel like that would have been better 🤙🤪. Good info y’all.

    We love our dogs but the way they act around other dogs and in new environments makes it highly stressful and takes away from the “fun” of taking them camping with us. I think if we went full time we’d have to seriously consider our doggies... sad face.
