    Brian - RV Lock makes locks for Class A's - we have one and love it. Ben - I used a Moryde 200% sliding tray and keep my Camp Chef on it - it pulls away far enough from the coach to use without moving it to another table and I can keep the propane line connected (turn it off at the tank when not in use).

    • @Five2Go

    Brilliant mods.
    My friend who lives in a small apartment (They have no counter space, and it's a rental, so no mods.) just got one of those micro dishwashers for Christmas. He raves about it. The dishes come out great. It lives on a cart, and he snakes the drain hose to the sink.
    If you have no way to do a real dishwasher, this dishwasher may be your answer.

    Your wood slide out tray is great. If you apply some Johnsons Paste Wax to all the sliding surfaces it will move very easily and will probably eliminate the sound when you pull it out.

    The "high tech" long lasting solution for eliminating the drawer noise, and making for a smoother glide, is UHMW plastic. It's sold in many forms, but can also be re-purposed cutting boards (if the available dimensions work for the space). It's commonly used in tablesaw fences, any many other tool accessories.
    Or, lignum vitae if you want to get real fancy. 😆

    Perhaps a rookie question, but I can't seem to figure out how he wired the remote cap light switch. The current switch on my unit only has 2 wires attached. The remote switch has 2 inputs and 2 outputs. When I connect the 2 current wires to the remote switch it only powers 1/2 of the cap lights and no way to turn it off. I know it is going to be a simple answer, but can you direct me?

    Ben, I loved every one of those mods! I saved the video for future reference. Absolutely ingenious and thanks for sharing them with us!! I am expecting delivery of a 2400BH and would like to do some of those mods that you shared. What brackets did you use for the sliding tray on the storage compartment? I have already the gray/black water tote. I was wondering why did you attached it to the bumper when you could have used the RV ladder? Is the tote blocking the RV stop light or am I missing something I should be considering? Thanks.

    • @triphius
      @triphius 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Henry! I think I answered already in Discord, but for everyone else...
      The sliding tray is currently just wood-on-wood, hence the terrible noise that Brian had to edit out. There have been some great suggestions that I need to try here in the comments when I have some free time.
      I put the tote on the bumper because I would have to move it every time I needed to get on the roof. Also on the 2800BH, the tote was slightly visible on the drivers side when centered on the ladder.

      It's not - he just built side bars on the shelf that slides out and those are captured by wood inside the storage bay. It's all just wood sliding on wood, there aren't any wheels or tracks.

    I tried researching discord, to see the internet setup. After page, after page, after page, etc, of the message trail, I gave up. Probably I don’t know how Discord works, but it is aptly named. Great, great video. Wow!

    what I dislike about the Grand Design is that there is no outdoor shower around the back end on the Street side. easy to add if you just plumb it off the bathroom sink.
