What is the Best Mountain in Scotland? (2024 Update)
I've really enjoyed delving into your videos over the past few months. This one meant a lot as it was one of the last ones I've been up. At least, I assume it was that round, didn't see a damn thing all day after leaving the resevoir until comng back down the other end!
Myself, my partner and our scruffy rescue dog climbed the Cruachan during a lockdown visit to Scotland. That start is a beast isn’t it! We were totally clouded in at the top. Took a slightly wrong direction upon leaving the summit and had a mildly nervous traverse around to find the right path. We drove back to the car park at Ganavan sands and sat with our legs recovering in the icy sea. It was a fabulous day. Well worth the effort. A very good fish supper in Oban that night felt richly deserved.
Right James.Whats next big guy?
Amazing video, looks a great day out. Can you ID the music used please. They are really evocative of the land, vibing. Cheers
I selfishly don't want it to be over! What's next!?
That’s an awesome achievement mate,You’re videos have been brilliant watching,,,,Final Munro will be something else,,hope you’re celebrating with some beverages!!!
Well done James cruachan is a beast of a mountain looking forward to watching your final Munro good luck and hopefully the weather holds out ⛰️⛰️
Those grim days test your determination James. Would you say it was worse than a year ago?
@@alistairthow1384 they definitely do, the conditions were worse but the route was much safer from this direction.. It was a good feeling getting to the top 😁
Well done James, I've enjoyed your Munro journey. Enjoy the last one.
Excellent James a great feeling that all your journeys and effort are bringing you close to your goal. Great mountain Cruachan. Climbed it twice once in the mist total navigation and the second in total sun. A hard day out particularly doing Ladhar Beinn the day before. Look forward to your celebration when you post the video. Very well done.
I did these in a fog so i didnt get the views that you got , the dam coming out of the mist was spectacular also the broken trig point had a medal with ribbon still attached but that would be long gone by now , well done you on your journey and i look forward to your last one , cheers from Brechin
A rotten shame you were denied a good day for one of the excellent Munro's James but your previous visit showed you it's a fine place indeed. When you topped it this time it wasn't too dissimilar to my own first visit back in 1990 in fact, bleak, cold, wet and very wild, saw nothing! By opposites to yourself though, the return trip we had five years ago was glorious! You are sure to return........
So close James, I can't wait for the final instalment!
Well done James! I've enjoyed your munro journey very much! Looking forward to your last munro.
Where do you see the future of the channel? I’d love to see videos from Europe and maybe a bit further away.
Loved watching your videoes james .whats next once munros are bagged?
Nice one James. I saw you have completed CMD. 282 in the bag. Corbett's next??? I am on that round, much tougher than the Munros.
Cheerd Andy, not 100% about the Corbetts but we will see 😂
Well done James, I was a late joiner but I've loved catching up with them all.
Thanks for watching 😁
Watched them all James. Quite emotional now you've nearly finished. Plz do the Corbetts! Jx Ps love Lexi (?) So like my beloved Spinner who hailed from Aberfeldy.
Thanks for watching, still not decided on the Corbetts 😂 Lexi will be in my final munro video! Cheers, James
Yes another incredible location , pity you didn't get the clearest of days ... next vid the last munro vid ? I hope not, love to see you doing all the Corbetts, they will take you to a whole new world of locations 👍
It was a great day, I will need to return to cruachan though! Last munro vid next, then Corbetts.. maybe 😂
@ScottishMunroJourney some of those corbetts are better than some of those Munros ... they are in a lot of locations where no Munros are, a whole new Scotland 😅... I suppose you already know that 👍 My Corbett count is 38.. I can these taking way longer than my Munros , which I'm at 236
I’m not sure I am looking forward to the final Munro. I’ve enjoyed the journey so much, I’m really going to miss these films. It’s been fantastic to share the round!
Mixed emotions, its a strange feeling! Thanks for watching 😁
Did you add the Corbett at the end or are you saving those for your next series?
Im still not 100% about the Corbetts yet, we will see 😁
Absolutely brilliant James. Well done on another fantastic video. So looking forward to your next one. The final one. well done. ATVB Alan
Thanks for watching Alan 😁
Great video James👍
Thank you 😁
Did you see any TiE fighters?
Had to google that - no 😂
Brilliant , have really enjoyed the journey, well done
Thanks for watching 😁
Great images. I usually do it the other way, but regardless it is a pretty long and arduous day.
Yes can imagine the pull up would be better that way 😁
@@ScottishMunroJourney Yes it is a bit better. I always used to go out to the Taynuilt peak too....until I got older!
Another cracking day out - thanks for letting us be a part of it. Looking forward to #282!
Thanks for watching 😁
Omg James, very excited after watching all of your adventures. One to go!!! I think it will be emotional. Neil and Rachel
Yes it was quite emotional, mixed feeling about it.. thanks for following the adventures 😁
Love your channel. From the USA. Can’t wait to hike in Glencoe next October for 10 days. Btw, what are you calling the saddle in the mountains there? Beloch???
Thanks for watching - hope you enjoy your trip! It is known as a bealach, the lowest point or ‘saddle’ 😁
Great video as always. I really enjoyed climbing these two last year, looks like you only had slightly better weather than I did!
Thank you 😁
Well done James, and thanks for the whole series. You have produced excellent footage and have usually left me wanting just a bit more, much better than wanting to jump over sections - great balance.
Thanks Eddie, I try and keep it short(ish) to keep it interesting 😁 thanks for following the journey, James
This was an excellent experience. I done it just a short while before yourself James and took a couple of wee diversions along the ridge. I also had a mixed bag of views too.👏
Its a great route for sure, I will need to do it again with better conditions 😁 Cheers, James
Next time take a left at the bealach and head up Meall Cunaill before ascending Ben Cruachan and when you reach Drochaid Ghlas head out along spur that leads roughly to the north.
Been following you for a good while as you know. Congratulations again on an epic mission. What's your next plans?
Thanks for following 😁 still not sure 😂
Sweet! Terrific views! Cool Star Wars tie in :)
Well done
Fabulous hills and ridge. You are not wrong about the pull up from the public road.....it got me puffing. The Dam is a brilliant bit of technology (built late 1950s early 60s if I remember rightly) and a visit to the actual Hydro power station is worth the time, if you have it. Very well done on your achievement great effort and been a joy to watch. Catch you for your last one....
Thanks for watching, the dam is a highlight of the walk for sure 😁 Cheers, James
Bitter, sweet James? Well done bud, you've done really well and if compleated already, well done mate!!
Thank you 😁 yes definitely mixed emotions about it, James
@@ScottishMunroJourney the Corbetts are calling
Brilliant video, as always. I can't wait for the final one GOOD LUCK 😆😆
Thank you 😁🏔
Well done, another great walk. You got a bit of a view. Now that you have (nearly) finished and you marked each of the hills, are you thinking of putting together a final review video with all your great days and fantastic photography? Thanks for the video.
Thank you 😁 yes will definitely have a highlight video come out after the last one, Cheers, James
Amazing video, james! Me and dad loved these 2, although we hated the bit through the forest! Thanks so much for subscribing to me!! Can't wait for the cmd video!
Thanks Lily! Not long now 😁🏔
Looking forward for the final munro 💪
Well done, I’ve enjoyed your journey, looking forward to the final Munro but slightly sad that the journey will be over 👏👏👏
Thank you 😁
Brilliant, well done nearly there. Just the final Munro with probably mixed feelings. The delight of a completion but a journey end. The drone footage and music make for a terrific watch. Can you tell me where you got the music.
Yes mixed emotions for sure, the music is the fantastic Beluga Lagoon 😁 Cheers, James
Amazing achievement . Congrats
Thank you 😁
☝️ video to go mate! Still feels like ur on ur journey! Can’t wait to see it! 🤩 I did those 2 hills in 26deg 🥵 it was test of stamina that day 😂
Not long now mate, should bring back some good memories anyway 😁 haha I bet! Tough old route that one!
Evening James, absolutely brilliant mate, nearly there. It’s been wonderful watching your journey over the last couple of 18 months or so, been some epic adventures and even more epic views….and now on to the last Munro, bring it on. 😀⛰🥾🏴
Thanks for following the journey Dave 😁 Cheers, James
What a series this has been. It's been brilliant coming along with you. Can't wait for the last one.
Thanks for following the journey 😁
Looks like you had the hills to yourself. Good luck for the finish.
I pretty much did 😁 thank you!
Looking forward to seeing you complete this great achievement. It has made for great viewing all along the way.
Thanks for following the adventures 😁
