Absolutely beautiful Robert, I totally envy you guys, I wish I had the bottle to do what you do, stunning views, time lapse was amazing and drone shots fantastic….just brilliant ❤ can I ask the make of your tent heater, someone mentioned it to me before but I’ve forgotten. Take care mate, Steven 🥾⛰️🏴🏴
Cheers Steven. I honestly think you’d love it too. I seen a post this week from a guy who said “he’s not a bagger as that suggests he’s in a rush, he prefers to treat the mountains like a fine whiskey and sip away at them”. That’s how I see it when you’re camping, you get to sit and take your time. I’ll send you a link on Facebook of it from Amazon. It’s a wee game changer this time of year for me, takes the nip off when it drops and you’ve been static for a while. All the best for Christmas and Hogmanay, Robert
Brilliant Robert, one of your best. Fantastic shots from your camp and summit, be hard to beat this one, all the best for Xmas & New Year mate🎅🎄👍 Frank.
Cheers frank. Had a few good camps lately. Pretty happy to end the year with that. All the very best for Christmas and Hogmanay, hope it’s a good one, catch you soon. Robert
Cheers Dave. Couldn’t have asked for any better. Decembers always a tricky month for getting out with commitments so I’m pretty happy to have managed to get that one in and with such great conditions too. ATVB to you too, hope you a great Christmas and new year. Catch up soon Robert
Pretty much the perfect winter camp . Spot on conditions 👏 👌 Cracking time lapse and I'm the same as you on s winter camp. My Osprey bag is 100 litre if I remember correctly so you done well to fet by with that Rab one 👏 👍
Aww mate, couldn’t really ask for much better. I’m actually still thinking of getting a bigger bag too. Although it did fit, no way would I want to risk that again, was almost bursting. My 65 sometimes feels too small. I’m actually sat watching your stob Dearg video, must have been around the same week surely?
@Moffatmountainadventures ye especially in winter I prefer a bit more room in my rucksack It's fine in the house when you're packing but it's a different ball game in bad weather or when you can't feel your fingers . Need a bit of room just to stuff everything in. That video was from 2nd Dec
It's a sublime spot Robert, myself, my brother and Ray at RS Outdoors camped there about a year ago too. Great film with beautiful views. We didn't have the same luck overnight as you with wild winds and a rapid thaw overnight for us but still worth it for the views of the Coe, great stuff. A
Yeah I remember seeing that. Always love it when Ray pops up on a wee collab video. That weather window was too inviting to miss. Had to take it. Cheers for the comment, ATVB for Christmas 🎄 and Hogmanay Robert
What a visually stunning camp, filmed really well too. Much appreciated, from those of use unlucky enough to be nowhere near snow, mountains or wilderness. :-( A very well earned new sub. ATVB
Thank you so much. I’ve always wanted to create a channel that allows me to take people with me without leaving their homes. Thank you for the sub too. ATVB Robert
@@stigfloberghagenphotography cheers Stig. Cracking way to end our years adventures. Probably out once more but it’ll be after new years before that will come out id say
Hi Robert. Wow mate, you are so lucky being north of the border. We’ve had nothing like that yet in the Lakes. All we have had now is wind and rain. That mate was absolutely stunning, what scenes. Thanks for taking us along. All the best mate, have a great Christmas and New Year. Dave 😀⛰🥾🏕️🏴🏴
I was planning on a lakes camp that day but I seen the weather cams and the snow looked too inviting to miss. Glencoe in the snow is just amazing. Your welcome, hopefully many more in 2025 Cheers Dave, all the best for Christmas and the new year 😊👌
Hi Dave, If it makes you feel any better, I live in Scotland and rarely get a day like Robert’s. I seem to be free either when it’s raining C+D’s or gale force winds with driving wet snow in the face and no views. Hope the weather improves down there as we have a cottage booked in Caldbeck for a week just after Christmas 🤞
@ Hi Timothy, that sounds very much like my winter experiences, it really does. Haha Have a great time in Caldbeck. I lovely little village. Make sure you have some meals at the Oddfellows Inn, beautiful food. We ate there when we staying at the campsite just down the road when we were on the Cumbria Way. Have a great Christmas and New Year. 😀🎄🎅🏻
Nice one as always 👌. Was good to finish the year with a snow camp just like it started 👍. Definitely the Cairngorms next hopefully got my eye on a nice wee spot up on the plateau. 😉
Well you know I’d be up for that, still got a hankering for finishing the year on Ben Lomond though, suppose you’ve got a couple of new tents needed tested too
@@Moffatmountainadventures I think the x Dome will be getting its first couple of camps at lower levels tay make sure those carbon poles hold out.😖 The Soulo is up for anything 😄
Hi Robert, Just stumbled across your Vlog whilst holed up with flu. Absolutely loved the presentation, editing and those views!!!!! Would have loved to see you tucking into a Full Scottish in the café 😂 Goes without saying I’ve “liked” and of course Subscribed. I’ll definitely be looking up your past adventures over the next couple of days. Btw I live in Scotland and rarely seem to get days like yours 🤷 Cheers Tim
@@timothyewart8160 the full breakfast was the plan but they didn’t have much left when we got there so we both ended up with toasties. Ohh your spot on, I had to bin my work to get that. Getting to use all that winter kit will be rare or if we get snow it often comes with 40mph winds. Thank you for the comment, I’ve tried to have a style of edit to my videos, the snow and condition definitely made it easier to capture it. ATVB Robert

This was great. I have the previous simond Makalu, I don't think much has changed. Not so sure about my Rab Muon. I don't think it did well with loads. Can you tell me what cameras and drone you were using please? Subbed!
@@Fellmandave1 that’s funny hearing from you. It was your video on the original that made me decide to buy this one. Couldn’t find much on TH-cam at all Nat yours and a couple of French ones. That was a one off for winter with that bag, it managed ok but I had it bursting point. Camera wise I use the iPhone 14 Pro for a lot of the main footage with a DJI mic attached to it. I also used an insta360 for walking footage, some of the set up clips and the night lapse, then I had the DJI Neo drone that got used for some of the closer aerial shots and the DJI mini 3 for the further shots. Hope that helps, lovely to hear from a legend ATVB Robert
@@Moffatmountainadventures Legend, ha, thats too kind, just persistent maybe. Yes, i think the Makalu is under appreciated, its my warmest tent, just a bit low. Have you had it in any strong winds yet, say 40 plus? I took the Muon on the tour de mont blanc, with 12 kg the internal velcro was pulling off the frame, shoulder straps underpadded too IMO. Looks cool though! Great spot you were camping in.i have a happy memory from that exact location that is not for YT! I have just got a DJI mini 4 pro, so am learning drone stuff. Anyway , happy camping for this winter and next year buddy and all the best.
@@Fellmandave1 yeah had it in 40mph a few times. Didn’t really notice it move much at all. Fantastic tent. Obviously with all tents you need it pitched correctly but I can’t fault it so far. You’ll love getting to grips with that drone, adds some really interesting shots. Good shoot with the padding on the bag. Did notice that. Definitely gonna be saving that bag for my summer trips
Nice video mate, hoping we see conditions like that here in the Lake District soon. 😍 ATB matey 🤙🏼
