I loved the movie. It won't be contending for any oscars, but it was never made to. It's meant to be a silly slap stick comedy and it succeeds excellently at it.
It’s not going to win best picture at the Oscars. But it was a fun ride. Love seeing these three on screen together. I got exactly what I was expecting and enjoyed every minute of it
I didn’t mind the twist with Gal and Dwayne’s characters, but it felt like it undid the relationship Dwayne and Ryan’s characters built together. The illogical things that happened in the movie kinda threw me off though. Idk. Still enjoyed the movie and I’ll definitely be seeing the sequel, but it’s not a re-watchable kind of movie.
Apart from The Rock vs a bull, there's this scene in the underground tunnel where I giggled a bit because The Rock was about to get smashed to an actual rock.
Something I noticed is that a lot of the time extras in this film were wearing masks of some sort. Not just at the party but many time the military or police extras would be wearing balaclavas and the like that only covered the bottom half of their face, I suspect to hide their covid masks and meet covid safety protocols. I thought they did a very good job in making a fun silly film considering all the extra precautions & travel restrictions they would have had to take during shooting. They just kind of lent into the silly and it paid off. A fun romp of a movie and there is nothing wrong with that.
Dwayne Johnson says, “Thank you” and Ryan Reynolds says “You’re welcome.” Later, Ryan says “Thank you”, but Dwayne nods instead of saying “You’re Welcome.” I found this to be funny considering Dwayne’s song in Moana.
One thing that bugged me is, there is NO way those vehicles would still be running, much less just start up like that. They were from WW2, so they sat down there for almost 80 years without maintenance, and i'm pretty sure gas doesn't last that long.
To add to the “MacGuffin” remark Reynolds also explains how they get to the third egg. “We’ll put on our matching black pajamas, sneak past the featured extras, etc…” Featured extras are shown on screen prominently but do not speak. One of the funniest parts of the movie for me.
@@heist247 His physique made it so he can only play tough guy, and that has limited his range. It is a problem when an actor can only play himself back from his wrestling days. When you see his face on the poster you know he will be the muscle and the occasional comic relief of whatever group he is in and he will not be the one to carry the emotional tone of the movie. Also, in his defense, he was never given very good materials, and by "good materials" I mean not superficial popcorn movies.
Budget man, always comes down to budget. I’m still coming back for the sequel because Ryan and the Rock. Did you ever think we would get that before they got past their 50s.
Nobody wanna talk about this guy's voice right? I've been following SR for the past 2 years from The Gambia 🇬🇲 but always awesome and amazing to put face to his incredible voice no matter how many times I've done so.
Just so you know, DJ did NOT come up with the Vin Diesel Cats reference. This has been asked and he says it was NOT him, although nobody will say who it was. I'd say it's more likely RR
also when the bag of eggs at the beginning and end are being held by 2 people its from temple of doom and the car fight towards the end of the movie is like crystal skull
I thought it was hilarious. The whole movie was just a string of homages to old faves & obvs product placement ... ... I enjoyed the fleeting, disconcerted look on The Rock's face as he finds himself in the (Jumanji) jungle at one point ... the many nods to 'Mission: Impossible' (including the faux theme music) ... Reynolds' 'Pulp Fiction' reference as he talks about the watch, then learning that the watch has a purpose (Ford/Connery, as well as maybe referencing Tony Stark & his Dad, Howard, who left him the plans for a power source within the Expo model ... ... there's too many movie 'nods' to mention, thinking about it.
I'm surprised that he did mention any of the possible Jackie Chan references. It could be said that the escape through the scaffolding was inspired by his films and the German cars case scene seems to be inspired by Armor of God.
The final twist is probably controversial but I see where they were coming from. I, at some point of the movie wished all three worked together and probably a lot others did and well the ending was just granting the wish ig for me lol
I see alot of people saying its not made to win any oscars while I believe the rock should have won one by now, but what I love is that he doesn't care about doing that he just wants to entertain us which I respect and love about him
There is something small, but when they get to the second egg, and Ryan goes to reach for it, you can hear the "Despicable me" theme, probably making him look like Gru, a villan who is not actually a villan, because of his sweet heart....😉 Just saying....
Tell me you have a weird fetish without saying you have a weird fetish: Michael Keene "Imagine how many eggs it takes to satiate that heaping mound of flesh"
No offense, I'm not a fan of the new format. I'd rather have clips of the movie with audio commentary rather than awkwardly look at the dude who is awkwardly looking at the camera while making jokes. So, the old format. Aside from that, thanks for the content!
Couple of things that got me going. The obvious studio shots was very funny made me giggle thinking Ryan and rock lost in the studio jungle 🤣 and the twist wasn't that unexpected ... Rock normally plays the one who is smart enough to go it alone ..so when he isn't - plot device
I loved that as a lot of stuff in the movie referenced classic adventure films of the 1950's and 1960's. Think of all the old b movies with studio jungles in.
When the latest bond may not break even unless scores over 900 million to break even so you can understand where it's not an established franchise that they have budget in mind. Plus what 10million a piece for the actors at least
It was a road picture. They were all shot in Burbank, but alleged to travel the world. Same schtick, same methods of production. Where exactly did the 200 M go?
#21: the whole movie :D Side note: 200m movie 🤣 all that green screen I think some actors got a paycheck Close you're eyes when sode voce speaks and you'll hear voldemort return 🤣
Seriously guys how are people struggling so much with pronouncing Gal’s name? If you read it like it’s written it’s almost accurate, and much closer than your tries at nailing the Hebrew pronunciation
I watched this last night... Weird... Do ya'll have Siri on the payroll? Is Alexa your silent third partner? You did this video ALL for ME didn't you?! 🤔 😏
This was a Netflix cash grab with the biggest names atm. Awful movie. The shallowest script and people just buying it up. At least there was some acting in-between the product placements.

This was horrible. One of the most cliché movies I've ever seen in my life. There wasn't even a hint of creativity or imagination. It's like they took scenes they thought looked cool from 20 different movies, remade them, edited them together, and called it a movie. It's a shame because the cast is better than this.
I didn't miss anything because I'm not going to watch another movie with Dwayne Johnson in it. That man is a broken record. There's Thousands of male actors to choose from.... Pick someone else!!! ANYOINE else. They need to stop casting the same guy in every f***ing movie!!!
Are you going to watch the sequel when it drops?
That's a big fat yes
I loved the movie. It won't be contending for any oscars, but it was never made to. It's meant to be a silly slap stick comedy and it succeeds excellently at it.
Yessir
Aquaman 2
Absolutely!!!

What was your favorite moment from this movie?
@@ScreenRant I am Ed Sheeran bitch
I hated the twist between Dwayne and gal but then the Ryan twist I loved then they got back together and then I loved the movie
@@ScreenRant The credits.
Jk the part where they escape the prison
Another thing I noticed almost half way thru the movie was that NOBODY was killed , in this entire action movie 🤯 and was still great
Apart from The Rock vs a bull, there's this scene in the underground tunnel where I giggled a bit because The Rock was about to get smashed to an actual rock.
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO NOTICED THAT I WAS CACKLING SO HARD ABOUT THAT WOFJWOTJEJT

This was surprisingly good; Black Adam, Wonder Woman and Deadpool respectfully 😀

How bout the huge fact that three eggs is the same wedding gift khaleesi on GoT got except hers were dragon eggs
When Ryan Reynolds tell the stories of the third egg, the scenes is straight ripping off Call of Duty - World at War
To add to the “MacGuffin” remark Reynolds also explains how they get to the third egg. “We’ll put on our matching black pajamas, sneak past the featured extras, etc…”

i could never take the rock's acting seriously.

There’s a joke about Gal Gadots singing voice too. A reference to the imagine video

Aviation liquor placement shot when arriving in Bali.
The drone shots were by our boy JohnnyFPV 😬😬
Always love Ryan Reynolds movies
Those 2 get along so well
The chemistry between all three actors is truly amazing!

Gal Gadot also did her part well

Is no one going to talk about how the private jet Ryan and Dwayne were on looked almost exactly like the one used in Criminal Minds? 😅
Who else is waiting for this movie’s Pitch Meeting?
This was definitely one of Netflix’s best movies made since birdbox
It's a very good movie! Which character did you like the most?

Do you think the sequel will be as good or better?

The cars in the bunker would have had gas that is solid
I spotted three easter eggs in the film but I'll keep them to myself.
Another movie with Dwayne Johnson in a jungle...
watched this with my lass and mentioned the same thing, he really does spend an odd amount of time there
At least this time he's not actually in a jungle, he's in a big garden centre :D
