The millionaire actors are the ones who are killing jobs like mine - basic low-level production assistant jobs who actually are paid well below the poverty line in CA. I work remotely for Warner Bros and even in the state I live in, with its lower cost of living, I need to stretch the wage I make. And now because of idiot actors and untalented writers complaining that their working conditions are "too hard" or that they "don't make enough money", projects are being cancelled and us lowly production staffers are the first thing to get axed. We're getting bitter. I LOVE film and animation, which is why I got into this industry, but man it's full of BS right now.

He brought a diverse perspective of multiculturalism from the BIPOC community that enables us all to better understand the struggle of the disenfranchised communities around this country and the oppression of systemic racism which they've endured. When I saw that Kingly slap I knelt before my TV in humble submission to Mr. Smith's nobel stand against colonial oppression.

It's sad what they've done in entertainment. Not just with that subject, but that's what we're talking about. In a not too different alternative universe, a show or movie could be based on a gay man and be generally accepted. "Hollywood" has spent so much time shoving messages down people's throats, a resentment has been built. Eyes roll and you get the "oh, they *_made_* him gay". Without all the throat shoving, I feel like a character could just _be_ gay and be accepted by (at least more of) culture/society. I'm an IT Project Manager and an expert in CRM (Customer Resource Management) which is just a fancy way of saying building computer systems that calculate demographics for sales and marketing campaigns. Good examples are Salesforce, Meta and Google, which use these analytics and algorithms to target advertising to people. It's as if these modern studios simply ignore all that completely and just make a product that represents whatever little bandwagon they've attached themselves to, thinking in their narcissistic infantile brains that maybe people are stupid and will watch their movie and be instantly brainwashed into believing their nonsense. It's literally the opposite of how most companies function.

    1) Be on time and be consistent in your work and life. 2) Be incredible at your work and in your purpose, which is always high-quality. 3) Be very well liked and loved by the public and especially the people in your life.
You don't need all three, but you need 2 out of three to succeed. If you manage somehow you get all three, you may indeed manage to be "great." But if you can't even manage 1, let alone 2, no one will give a shit about you.
Hollywood has failed on *ALL THREE* for the last decade or more. They could produce raw gold and distribute it to the masses, and no one would really care at this point. Hollywood needs to be fired.

I miss the old Hollywood of my childhood and teenage. I was five when my father snuck me into one of the best movie theatres (now converted into a shopping mall) in my city to watch 'The Towering Inferno'. After that, it was just a long story of me being mesmerised by the cinematic experience and being excited at every new release and inspired by it. I still remember, while in college, my friend and I went back twice to watch 'Saving Private Ryan,' bawling our eyes out each time. When my parents could afford a colour television and we upgraded to cable tv, it was HBO and Star Movies all the time, punctuated by National Geographic or Discovery.
The strange thing is: even though I am a 'brown' woman from Asia, I DID NOT need the hero of the story (be it in films or the books I devoured) to be an Asian, or woman or brown or even human (remember 'Ice Age' or 'Kung Fu Panda'?) for me to appreciate the movie and to be moved by it. Representation is good. But 'token representation' or 'representation' to prove a point without adding anything to the storyline is bad.
And for God's sake will anyone stop this plague called franchise?!?!? If you want to make a franchise, please make a 'Kill Bill'. Or even a 'Rocky' will do. Otherwise, please don't!
