@musc258 firstly, a lot of this will be down to a lot of tactical instruction and how managers want to use the wingers (garna and rashford) who are shoot-first wingers. Leading this agenda against Rashford when he has been asked to take on a lot of the creative burden this season is ludicrous. I may be proved wrong but also feel this frustration. I feel Hojlund has a lot of great attributes and his failings are largely down to those around him making poor decisions. Now you've been through it, it is clearer that the reasoning is the coaching as opposed to just being the wingers being too selfish.
Amorims arrival also probably means that Varnacho will have to improve his dribbling and decision making. All he does is run quickly and shoot , does not look to assist or dribble past his man
oh bro, I agree so much, sometimes just insulting how the headcoach allows things like this happen. cannot get it in my head. I don’t understand why ppl stopped crossing into the box for striker. we have only stupid runners who cannot finish. I would actually play Mount and Bruno on the wings and Eriksen at 10, so 9 could get full service.
United have tried using Hojlund as a target man number 10. Effectively, the Fellaini role from Moyes' United only without any of the supportive players around him.
I watched Hojlund before he came to Man Utd, he was getting the ball when facing the opposition, and also running onto balls like Sporting did against City. Running at defenders and getting the ball popped to him. He could use his pace and power to burn past people. ETH's system did not work for him. I believe under Amorim he will be a beast.
I just hope United can improve their goalscoring under Amorim. With Ten hag it's became worse. Not sure about Zirkzee, if he still struggle, he really need a loan to club than can give him more game time, while United need to buy another goalscoring striker to improve the goal tallies
It's worth noting how Gyokeres isn't just any striker either. He has (for most of his career) outperformed his competitors. Even when he played for U23 Brighton, with less playing time, he still outscored. The team he played for in Sweden only survived because of him. They got relegated as soon as he left. Point is, its not just tactics, he's also very ruthless. Hojlund on the other hand is too soft, he needs to demand the ball and show more fustration. Talent is there, mindset isn't.
Thank you! I snapped about 6 months ago. Thought Ruud would fix it but it’s been just the same. Why spend money on a new striker when we don’t pass the ball in the box to the one we have!
I mean, Gyokeres and Hojlund plays nothing alike nor have the same characteristics when playing. Gyokeres is an insanely strong striker that always want to be a part of the game, he does not always sit in the top and wait for the ball, he runs onto the wide when needed. Hojlund does not have the strength of Gyokeres and Haaland so he gets bullied alot and that is quite an important trait since he is not an agile striker.
Good points I agree with most of it but when you show the comparison with gyokeres he’s running into so much space behind the defenders, hojlund is good at that too, how does gyokeres go when a team plays a low block, which every team does against United
@ never said I know how the Portuguese league works I’m just saying every highlight James showed it looked like sporting were on a break around the centre circle area
The mighty cherries not only beat, but batter Man City (the best team in the world), should’ve been 3-0 up, and yet Jimbo can’t even give us a cursory bit of attention. I’m starving, James.
At United, the widemen are the main men. Hojlund works to hold up play and support them, so they don't look for him. They just cut in and shoot 😅. Ten hagg then wonders why we don't score goals 😮
I agree 100%. The problem you have at United is greed and selfishness: Rashford and Garnacho are greedy for the limelight, they want the plaudits, they want to score the goals, they want the adoration of the fans, and, unfortunately f**k the club. They're not team players; they're in a team of one...themselves. That makes them selfish. Not only that the managers at United (ten Hag and now Ruud) seem to go along with it. The number of times i see Rasmus coming short, square to the ball and passing it off (the target man, but he's so much more than that), meanwhile Rashford and Garnacho are running ahead and wide of him looking to get into the box and shoot. Sporting don't do that, their players realise that if they feed Gyokeres and he's scoring and they're winning...they all win!
I'm no United fan but it's a shame how ETH used Hojlund, yet you have people saying he's a 'flop/not very good' when in reality neither of those claims are very fair. The bloke is starved of any service in a system that lacks identity, maybe Amorim can get the best out of him.
Whats interesting to me is that the moment that broke you against Chelsea was actually under RVN....so is this proof that certain players are incapable/ignoring instructions intensionally on gameday? If so do you think Amorim will be more pro active in removing these players that are seemingly doing their own thing instead of workimg for the greater good of the team?
Unfortunately never happening, has all the physical attributes to be elite but is horrendous at creating separation with the opposition CBs. Even with Amorim, that doesn't change. Tons of Gyokeres goals also come from individual brilliance, something which Hojlund won't be able to replicate.
Comparing Rasmus and gyokeres at the same age 21 rasmus is a far better player than gyokeres was at that age plus gyokeres was never a prolific goal scorer until 2 years ago🙂. Plus rasmus is 5 years younger than him where he can improve an learn all of that smh stop with the hate on the kid cause no one would have bat an eye on gyokeres 3 years ago in a big league….
@@Tyler_SharpYou’re actually in the wrong here, Anyone who watches United can clearly see that Højlund is good enough to replicate what Gyokores is doing at Sporting, he’s literally a copy of him.. strong, quick, blonde😂..ofc he’ll make mistakes cos he’s 5 years younger but im pretty sure he’ll be that good within 2 years of playing under Amorim.. One plays in Portuguese league for a strongest team and only started performing at 25, the other is 21 and plays in the most competitive and dynamic league with washed team and no service and still scores 15+ goals in his first season. I'd rather have Rasmus, thank you
Mmm sure he could, but people just seems to have not undesrtood that Amorim isnt the one primarily responsible for Gyöekres turning into the player he is now. Mark Robbins is
That's a big reason man utd aren't scoring enough goals the loading of the box in the final third has been really poor and in the bigger games where its harder to have control of the ball and slow it down. They've either had too many runners or two few for the transitions. Having Rashford as that creator has worked really well but Garnacho keeps taking too many shots from wide angles and more importantly Holand is the only person in the front 3 that makes the correct run in the box.
Getting united wingers to play for a striker might as well be the 13th labour of Hercules , the all think they are prime CR7 but are in fact closer to Kieran Richardson
Could Rashford play this role? He's struggled previously because he's isolated and playing with his back to goal. I can see him flourishing as a 9 in this system.
Hojlund is a proper striker. United just don't have a clue how to feed a proper striker anymore. Everyone wants to run solo, cut in and shoot from 25 yards
All of this is the main reason Ten Hag failed. It's as if he wanted a false 9 to feed the wide men rather than providing the best finisher in the squad with the chances.
Hojlund has a lot of potential but he is living off scraps, Garnacho and Rashford want to score not assist. I think Garnacho can change his game because he’s young but Rashford has proven to be selfish and want to cut inside to shoot. Hopefully we can get the best out of Rasmus with the new system
It's gonna be difficult because the fact is Unitd do not have S tier players anymore. There mostly B tier and some are even C tier - They're all good at pretending their S tier though, it reminds of them youtube boxers who look good shadow boxing but just having no knockout punch or ring instinct. I'm looking at Rashford and Garnacho. United will do well when the coach gets rid of the B tier squad - until then I expect every single manager to share the same fate as the last 5.
I have been saying it for a year now, Hojlund absolutely needs help. The only thing he has been doing consistently is fighting and engaging physical contact with defenders, which is just too horrible because he is making 50% of the defenders' job easier. Didn't like that at all
hojlund can't hold the ball up to save his life mate. he gets bullied off the ball way too easily. Hes nippy, a willing runner and his goals to chances ratio is quite high.
EtH wanted Harry Kane and thought Højlund would pay that role... to be fair, Rasmus doesn't make many intelligent runs either; constantly seeing Bruno looking for him and the lad is in the wrong shape or making the wrong run... heck, I've seen Casemiro make more intelligent darts in the box! 🙄 ... A different system under Amorim and the coaching that Gyokeres received, will do him good and he can start to show the promise that he did for a short period last season before he got injured... he stopped playing like that and went into a shell.
It makes sense more mow Gyokeres scores hatrick against man city

even though its a simple thing (making space for the main striker) the famous fergie also used similar tactics in his last season. season where he told the players to find van persie in space which in hindsight created that great volley against villa to win the league. simple but effectivetive cant wait to see this in action under anmorim. players making runs to free up other players exciting times ahead united fans
hopefully your right, it would be nice to see him get more chance to score
Agreed he is the supporting player to the two prima donna stars rashford and garnacho.
Hojlund even said it, His focus was always to get the ball to his feet
Great breakdown!! GGMU!

Great video👍👌
can't wait to see how Hojlund would transform under Amorim
Great vid james i really enjoyed this but nobody is talking about the possibility of rashford doing well as a 9 in this Amorim system
the fact is that even though hoijland made those runs it's completely unknown to him as well that he is making the sensible runs
Spot on.
Good vid!
All he does is run quickly and shoot , does not look to assist or dribble past his man
Going to pick up some Hojlund on StocksFC. Here's hoping you're right James.
Chad Michael Murray you doing a great job bro
here, here!
Hojlund has the potential he’s gotten one of the least touches a prem striker gets once he gets the ball he proves that he can score
oh bro, I agree so much, sometimes just insulting how the headcoach allows things like this happen. cannot get it in my head. I don’t understand why ppl stopped crossing into the box for striker. we have only stupid runners who cannot finish. I would actually play Mount and Bruno on the wings and Eriksen at 10, so 9 could get full service.
Great video
Need more unselfish work with and without the ball from Garnacho and Rashford to aid this. Do you think they are capable
United have tried using Hojlund as a target man number 10. Effectively, the Fellaini role from Moyes' United only without any of the supportive players around him.
Rasmus has had 4 shots this season, garnacho 29, says it all
I watched Hojlund before he came to Man Utd, he was getting the ball when facing the opposition, and also running onto balls like Sporting did against City.
😮 You already knows the plan. I guess he will score hatricks in every match from now on.
Just put Amad and Bruno behind him in that number 10 roles, and Hojlund is gonna score like crazy.
Good points I agree with most of it but when you show the comparison with gyokeres he’s running into so much space behind the defenders, hojlund is good at that too, how does gyokeres go when a team plays a low block, which every team does against United
You think Portuguese teams don’t play low blocks against Sporting? We are the team to beat in our league. 😂 Delete your comment and move on. Next!
@ never said I know how the Portuguese league works I’m just saying every highlight James showed it looked like sporting were on a break around the centre circle area
When a team does that he creats his own goals
The mighty cherries not only beat, but batter Man City (the best team in the world), should’ve been 3-0 up, and yet Jimbo can’t even give us a cursory bit of attention. I’m starving, James.
At United, the widemen are the main men. Hojlund works to hold up play and support them, so they don't look for him. They just cut in and shoot 😅. Ten hagg then wonders why we don't score goals 😮
Every time I watch one of your utd videos I get excited and every time they let me down. Hope you're right this time James 🙏
I believe in Gyokeres. That’s all I know
Watching this reminds me of the goal he scored against galatasaray last season. He could be some player if nurtured properly
I can’t help but imagine the players have been doing nothing but binging Sporting matches in their leisure time.
Hojlund is a master striker. He will score many goals under a real coach.
Top video
It’s like ETH created a system that got the best out of absolutely none of our players
You are very tactical..I love Hojlund and they just make him play bad
Amen, saw that immediately when i watched Sporting, United uses Ramus wrong
Yea I think it’s pretty obvious that if Hojlund gets chances he will score. Has a great shot and composure
Honestly they need to go out and get a number 1 striker… hojlund is a good backup
Did you even know gyokeres before he went to sporting or u just like to talk nonsense?
Comparing Rasmus and gyokeres at the same age 21 rasmus is a far better player than gyokeres was at that age plus gyokeres was never a prolific goal scorer until 2 years ago🙂. Plus rasmus is 5 years younger than him where he can improve an learn all of that smh stop with the hate on the kid cause no one would have bat an eye on gyokeres 3 years ago in a big league….
@@17_sasuke we will come back to this at the end of the season, I will be correct, not you
@@Tyler_SharpYou’re actually in the wrong here, Anyone who watches United can clearly see that Højlund is good enough to replicate what Gyokores is doing at Sporting, he’s literally a copy of him.. strong, quick, blonde😂..ofc he’ll make mistakes cos he’s 5 years younger but im pretty sure he’ll be that good within 2 years of playing under Amorim.. I’ll be back here to remind you in a few months 👍🏽
One plays in Portuguese league for a strongest team and only started performing at 25, the other is 21 and plays in the most competitive and dynamic league with washed team and no service and still scores 15+ goals in his first season. I'd rather have Rasmus, thank you
Now do a video of why he always falls over with every touch of the ball
People says Hojlund will be transformed under Amorim, but i think its not him, its Rashford who i see can play that striker role under Amorim.
What makes you think that? Rashford is an awful striker
@@zinedinezidane4771 they way Rashford likes to make that runs forward. You will see what i mean. Mark my words. I would tell you I told you so.
Getting united wingers to play for a striker might as well be the 13th labour of Hercules , the all think they are prime CR7 but are in fact closer to Kieran Richardson
Always said hojlund was a good punt at 35m, very raw risk but ok at a good price
Could Rashford play this role? He's struggled previously because he's isolated and playing with his back to goal. I can see him flourishing as a 9 in this system.
Rashford would get abslolutely bullied by CB!
@@JordanWall-zi9sw Yeah, cos he's tiny and unathletic. He can look after himself just fine. He needs to score goals - not be able to wrestle
Hojlund is a proper striker. United just don't have a clue how to feed a proper striker anymore. Everyone wants to run solo, cut in and shoot from 25 yards
If United score 20 goals under Amorin it will be a success
All of this is the main reason Ten Hag failed. It's as if he wanted a false 9 to feed the wide men rather than providing the best finisher in the squad with the chances.
You might be onto something! Exciting times, especially after seeing Sporting defeat Man City 4-1.
He doesn't really need to do anything, just needs bruno to stop the superhero passes then we'll see
Real Madrid need Bruno super hero passes kind of guy, so if it going to be win win if there's such interest
Just drop Rashford then
Gyokeres gets service from his wingers where Hojlund gets nothing
amorim didnt even move yet but he already make statement? wow
Didn't like that at all
distances......that's my biggest problem with united
Bro knows Amorim’s plan for Hojlund even before Amorim
It has frustrated me since he joined he gets the ball so rarely and the team isn't focused on trying to get the moat out of him
People don't understand Sporting striker Goku has always been a good striker he was just unknown.
hojlund can't hold the ball up to save his life mate. he gets bullied off the ball way too easily. Hes nippy, a willing runner and his goals to chances ratio is quite high.
8:15 Is it that the team isn’t put together to feed Hojlund, or they don’t want to?
This isn’t career mode james 😅
how do you know what Amorim has planned
How do you know what “plan” he has?
EtH wanted Harry Kane and thought Højlund would pay that role... to be fair, Rasmus doesn't make many intelligent runs either; constantly seeing Bruno looking for him and the lad is in the wrong shape or making the wrong run... heck, I've seen Casemiro make more intelligent darts in the box! 🙄 ... A different system under Amorim and the coaching that Gyokeres received, will do him good and he can start to show the promise that he did for a short period last season before he got injured... he stopped playing like that and went into a shell.
