Man I just wish more laptop manufacturers could make laptops that doesn't look like gamerware so that the Razer Blade could get any competition, and even the Blade snake logo is freaking awful. Don't get me wrong, I'm a gamer, but the reason I buy a laptop is because I need to bring it with me, and I don't want to be sitting at work or at a coffee shop with a freaking spaceship
Yeah there's other brands out there like the zephyrus line but you have to sacrifice performance. I do agree with the legion line once you take off the RGB. I'm hoping Asus revives the S17 because that fills that void of being a premium professional looking gaming laptop

what about the internal cooling solution? Are they also identical or the cooling on the scar somehow better because if the difference is just cosmetic then there are no reason to spend a lot more money on the Scar :))
Strix laptop comes with thermal grizzly conductonaut extreme on cpu only whereas on the scar it comes on both cpu and gpu because they are higher end and they have 4080 and 4090 graphic cards. Other than that they both have tri-fan technology and same number of heat pipes.
How are they different on the inside? I think I saw somewhere on youtube that G18 used heat pipes where as Scar 18 uses vapor chamber, on 4080 versions. Please tell if that's true.
Mini LED screen is ok and does HDR justice no doubt... However... way too expensive. Asus makes a 32" mini LED monitor for $3,000USD!! It's a big markup.
I saw some review about this laptop (Rog Strix 18) that when the screen is dark the display have bright corners flashing light. Is that apply to all Strix 18 or should I return it?

Cooling is the same but for whatever reason I'm getting higher CPU performance on the scar versus the regular strix. Not really showing up in real life stuff though just benchmarks

Temps and noise seems identical to my ears. If it sounds like there’s a difference I would take a decibel reading. But didn’t need to. But unless you want the best of the best, you’re getting 90% of the overall power at $2499 vs. $3899

I'm not sure. I've never played half life alyx. I haven't owned a VR headset since the first oculus rift. Been meaning to get one and get back into it though

@@MrRepsie For you that may be true, not everyone has the extra money for the 4090. That aside, I got the 4080 and I have some issues with it, but performance is not one of them. Windows 11 sucks (got no choice here) Had to buy a USB C to USB A adapter and a USB C to USB C cable to plug my mouse and phone up on the left so I wasn't constantly hitting the cords with my mouse. The power adapter plugs into the laptop and covers the left vent. The power adapter cord that plugs into the laptop is not as long as others so I can't put it on the floor. All of these are just personal nit picks and have nothing to do with the quality of it. Comparing the Strix vs the Scar the slight performance increase is not worth the $1400 extra dollars for the 4090 to most people and is a massive waste of money. Especially price/performance.

Can you do a review of msi ge67hx oled screen compared to other laptops screen if it gives you an advantage or not for example do you see the enemy before on the oled screen in games like valorant.

Yes definitely. I'm thinking about doing a video on asus's quality control in general this year. I've had a few units come in and out and all of them had coil wine. The trackpad was wonky and batting of backlight bleed to where is distracting. But nothing that's a deal breaker but it's just frustrating for me because I'm not seeing those issues with any other laptops I've used this year

Without it would be around 2100€ and rn for 4070 its 2400 which 600€ for 5-20 fps is way too much. But 300€ difference isnt that big still not worth but I would really be thinking about it. At first I wanted to grab acer predator helios neo 16 with 2k display i9 13900hx and 4070 for about 1760€ but I was too late. Wanted 4070 so badly but like this its not worth it. If its used prices are pretty good but new is overshoot.

i have the mini led and a 8k pc with oled...this laptop screen sucks not worth the 5k dollar see it person nothing like a true mini led once u put that matte asus its over it looks old outdated ,they saving up for true mini led glossy screens that are gonna produce probably in 3 years

No vapor chamber this year. Last year on the scar 17 SE had one.

It seems like the 4080 is a big jump over the 4070. So unless it's much cheaper to go with the 4070

Performance is pretty much the same except for the 4090 vs 4080. I didn't open up to see the inside but performance wasn't affected.
