Welcome to booktube! Really hope that you're able to get all that you're looking for and more with your channel! Its so much fun here. Also I STILLLL struggle with vlogs, Love them, but organizing the footage and making sure you get the footage you want can be hard. I personally always fear that most of what I film is trash which can be super discouraging. I would suggest editing as you go so that you can see how things are going along the way, and make any adjustments you need. if you're vlogging multiple things, or for long periods, its easy to forget what you have and have not filmed. And for me, the not knowing is the biggest issue cause it causes the self doubt to creep in (lots of unfinished vlogs happen because of this). Have fun and it will be great! Good luck!

I really like your rationale for starting the channel and how you're combining your interests in filmmaking and reading while gaining a creative outlet. I remember learning to hold back talking about my special interests when I was fairly young, to the point that now I have a hard time talking about the subjects I'm super into unless the person I'm talking to manages to convince me they're genuinely interested. Big fan of frogs also, I am enamored with the knitted frog videos by India Rose Crawford, but I grew up near a pond and would study the frogs there in my youth. It sounds like our reading tastes are very similar. I'm on goodreads, but I prefer using Storygraph. I'm blewballoon on both.

Funny enough, I was interested in becoming a film editor in high school, but got discouraged because it was "a waste of my intelligence" (ridiculous and so dismissive of the intelligence involved in creation and art), and not a safe industry to go into (that part is fair, I guess), but I kept up my TH-cam channel and still love the process of planning videos, filming, and editing! So glad I stumbled across your channel and I'm looking forward to catching up with your videos and the book you've been reading! 🧚🏻♀️📚✨

The film and TV industry needs a serious overhaul of how it functions. It's not acceptable that people are still getting pushed out or discouraged because of the rampant masogyny and unsafe practices within the industry. I'm so glad that this channel has given you a safe space to express your passions. That's super important. As a fellow perfectionist: You have my condolences. I'd love to tell you that it won't get in the way but it really does 🤣. Recording takes me so much longer because I want it to be perfect and hone in on the micro issues that nobody else would notice. Eventually, you just learn to live with it.
