Welcome!!! I love classics too and I’m fairly new to them. That’s why I started my channel about 18 mos ago? Seems longer than that. Anyway, I can’t wait to watch your bookshelf tour! I’m going to highlight your channel on my Community tab. 🥰🥰👏👏👏
Welcome to booktube, from one relative newbie to another! I love finding other folks who enjoy reading history nonfiction - I actually just read Salt a few weeks ago!
A belated welcome to Booktube! I really should have watched this video sooner, because I like you, your personality, and your reading tastes. I also really like the idea of book interviews where you have a one-on-one book club or a buddy read video where you and someone reads and talks about a particular book. I filmed that kind of video with another Booktuber back in 2020 where we discussed James Monroe: A Life. I really like your idea of bringing attention to lesser-known classics as well. There are so many great writers that are frequently overlooked. I am with your completely when it comes to plays! I like to read plays in order to complete my Goodreads goal, though I like to read both standard and short plays. Who are your favorite playwrights? I also like microhistory and Mark Kurlansky is an amazing writer. I read his book Cod. It is amazing the topics he has explored. The Reaktion series has released books on designated subjects, such as animals, food, Earth, nature, cities, particular people in history, and so much more. What areas of history do you enjoy reading about most? I, too, love horror as well. Stephen King is a great author! Being able to make money through Booktube is challenging. It is possible, but if your goal to becoming a Booktuber is making money, you are going to be disappointed. Do what you want to do, make it about content, content, content, and satisfaction will come naturally. Thank you for sharing and I highly encourage you to film more videos! I think you will make Booktube a better place! -Josh
Welcome to the BookTube community! Like you, I also love to read the classics. Best of luck with your channel - I look forward to watching more of your videos. Happy Reading! 😎📚👍
Hi, Catherine! Thanks for making the Newbie tag so it's a little bit easier to find you. I'm looking forward to hearing about all bookish things you want to share with us over the upcoming year. From an oldie content creator to a newbie, welcome aboard! We're so glad to have you here.
Lovely to get to know your adventure into reading, we share many book obsessions, but I am also a massive poetry nerd. Thank for the bookish inspiration.
@@theeconstantreader I really enjoy the twentieth century confessional poets: Plath, Sexton, Berryman, Lowell, Snodgrass... But there's a lot of amazing eco poetry as well. Depends what you like.
Welcome to BookTube. I started out reading mostly non-fiction, but I read more and more fiction nowadays. But I recently read Jazz Cleopatra: Josephine Baker in her Time. I can highly recommend that one. I’ll put up a review of that later this month.
Awesome to see another reader who prefers Classics and History/Nonfiction. I haven't read Salt but have heard good things about it. What type of plays do you prefer? I'm a lover of the Elizabethan and Jacobean stage.
Yay! I love the Elizabethans too, but I also love the Modern playwrights (Oscar Wilde, Ibsen, Chekhov, etc…) and any new plays (anything by Annie Baker, Ann Washburn, Clare Barron, etc….) So glad to have you here! ❤️
would totally be interested in a book club! I just started a new booktube channel and am looking for advice for new channels. I'd love to be more involved in the booktube community. I also love the bbc pride and prejudice mini series, Colin Firth is just mwuah! chef's kiss!
