When I was a kid, animals who talked were always an insta-read for me. Have you read the Shady Hollow series? It's a series of cozy mysteries, filled with talking animals wearing tiny little clothes.
Oh my goodness this was so fun to watch! I’m impressed with how many books you’ve already gotten to! Someone else brought up Gwen and art are not in love this week and it’s my first time hearing about it so maybe it’s a sign to read it sooner rather than later for me. I feel like you would do a really fun “if you like this, read this!” type of video of you are interested in those kinds of things! Re book-with-quote-from-author-we-don’t-like: One time I got a copy of a book that I wanted but I hated the cover and so I made a booksleeve/redesigned the cover! Idk if that is something you might like doing
Thank you so much!! And I’m definitely interested in doing a video like that! Just straight up book recommendation videos kind of intimidate me, but maybe it’s time 💪 Also that’s a great idea!!
I know I’m late to the game (this video autoplayed and I’ve had it playing in the background), but I tuned right in when I heard you mention The Body Keeps The Score and started talking about the feelings tied to it. I just want to say, as a fellow traumatized chronic pain/illness sufferer, that there’s a lot of grief and anger that comes with unpacking the trauma and coming to terms with how it’s affected our bodies. It’s really hard and those feelings are super valid and important to recognize. I recommend taking the book very slowly, which is what I was told when the same book was recommended to me after being diagnosed.
I absolutely LOVED This Is How You Lose the Time War! I also really enjoyed The Dead Romantics, Just for the Summer, The Berry Pickers, and All Systems Red and I’m excited to see how you like them. 💕 I haven’t read but am interested to hear your thoughts about The Warm Hands of Ghosts, A Sweet Sting of Salt, The Other Valley, The Body Keeps the Score, and Don’t Want You Like a Best Friend. 💕
Hahaha you happened to name a lot of the ones that I feel like I'll be picking up soon! I've especially been feeling in the mood for Time War lately, so 🤞
I loved “Get A Life, Chloe Brown!” It was my favorite out of the trilogy! “A Love Song For Ricki Wilde” is one of my favorite books of this year! I’ve seen “A Demon’s Guide to Wooing A Witch” a few times here or there and have never picked it up! I’ll have to next time! I love your romance haul! I definitely will need to pick up some of these books you’ve mentioned. Oooh I want to read “Lonely Castle in the Mirror!” “Babel” is very intimidating but it’s such a good read to get through! It’s written so well! Such a fun haul. Thanks for sharing!
Always getting the best book recs from you 😌✨ cannot wait to get my hands on a copy of I Don’t Want You Like A Best Friend I love seeing your journey of getting more into romance books 👀 it’s inspiring me to give it another go
Heyyyy! I’m here with my essay length comment. I loved this video so hard and am so impressed with how many of these you’ve already read! 👏 I definitely have a similar number of recently bought books (if not more) but sometimes we gotta just choose joy where we can ☺️ I love how you’re a proper big time romance guy now, love that for you 🙌🏻💕 I really loved the body keeps the score, I found it super accessible for the most part as it’s very anecdotal at times but I would definitely recommend that you take your time with it. I’m so excited for you to get to time war and I who gave never known men, I loved both much! Oh my gosh yay for Interesting Facts About Space, I loved it so so much, I’ll message you re: the autistic thing. Ocean at the End of the Lane is fantasy/horror/magical realism vibe so I think you’ll love it a lot! I keep meaning to get to The Reformatory because I know I’m gonna love it! So many of these others are also on my TBR which is so exciting. Oh my gosh, I love Diavola so so much! So hyped for you 🙌🏻 Okay I’m done… for now hehe 🩷💕💓💗💖
I can't wait to hear what you think of The Reformatory when you end up picking it up! And I've been in the mood for Time War recently, so maybe soon? 👀
Is that a Sunny’s Book Truck shirt? 👀 I love it! Also I just finished reading those three Abby Jimenez books and loved them all!! Each one just gets better and better 💖
I love that you got Frog & Toad and the Brambly Hedge collection!!! Top tier books for sure 🐸 I also just bought I Who Have Never Known Men from Powell’s a couple weeks ago!
thank you for the long video, this was really fun 💖 my face lit up in a really embarrassing way when you said the woods all black is t4t! i've never really seen that in a book before! as a non american lesbian i'm not at all familiar with Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, even the movie, so it would be really cool so hear more about it and other lesbian media you recommend 💖 also i also miss ally and i think about her often, i hope she's doing alright
Thanks for your video! I read The Body Keeps the Score over the winter. I have CPTSD and was actually just diagnosed with fibro as well. I found the first ~half of the book informative and validating. My biggest takeaways involved being able to identify things my brain/body does in response to trauma triggers and accept them as reasonable given the trauma I have, rather than berating myself for being “too sensitive” or overreacting. I can relate to your concern about linking your trauma with your current physical pain; I struggle with this a lot and really empathize with you there 🫂 I do think that is kind of the book’s central thesis, so maybe exercise caution depending on where you are with that when you decide to read. On a lighter note, I hope you love I Who Have Ever Known Men! And I too am a slut for Jane Austen 😂 Persuasion is such a good one! I also really love I Capture the Castle. You have so many great reads on your shelf 😊
Thank you for sharing that with me💛It’s probably best that I wait on it for a while. And I’m confident that I’ll love all of those! I’m feeling very psyched about my tbr shelf as a whole 😊
SO many great books! I loved Part of Your World!! Probably one of my current favorite romances. I think that The Body Keeps the Score is good..... but also it was kind of too much for me in a way too. Allll the trigger warnings for a lot of SA conversation and discussions. I think if I had to do it over again, I would have DNFd it...not because the information was not good but because at that time it was not helpful for me. I think maybe if you're feeling like it might not be a good fit for you right now for whatever reason, it's ok to listen to that. And maybe pick it up a different time if that feeling changes!
omg Gwen and Art are not in love is *SO GOOD*. So gay. So much drama and pining. You'll love it. Guaranteed. Also, Tress is one of my fave books of all time, so. 🩷🩷🩷

I hope she's doing well, too! That's definitely the most important thing ☺️ I definitely think I'll love it too!
